CORRECTIONS & AMENDMENTS Click on frame to enter TURKISH MILITARY AIRCRAFT SINCE 1912 3RD VERSION 16. MARCH 2006 Corrections Corrections in Green has been provided by: Johan van der Wei, Jacobastraat 38, 7555 HR HENGELO, the Netherlands e-mail: [email protected] Page 16-26: Albatros B.I/Rumpler B.I/Albatros C.I/Albatros C.III/LVG B.I/Fokker E.I/Fokker E.III/ Fokker D.I/Fokker D.VII/Gotha LD.2Pfalz A.II/Albatros D.II/Albatros D.III:/Halberstadt D.V/AEG C.IV Serial ex (c/n, serial) d/d unit/date wfu date remarks In all these cases the ‘ex’-column list two serial numbers. In all cases the first listed number (mostly a three or four figure number) is the c/n. The previous identities listed in most cases with a suffix like /14, /15, /16, /17 or /18 are the true former German serial numbers. Page 33: Rumpler 6B-1: Serialnumber 1075 was not assigned to a Rumpler 6B-1 but to a Hansa-Brandenburg KDW. Could the final two figures have been transposed accidently? I.e. the serial number of this 6B-1 should have been 1057 ? Friedrichshafen FF.39: 1549 and 1550 are Friedrichhafen FF.49B models while the other Listed serial numbers are Friedrichshafen FF.49C versions. There is hardly any external or Even internal difference between a FF.39 and a FF.49 except for a strengthened tail section. I cannot blame anyone for not seeing these difference. Hansa-Brandenburg W.29: This same applies to the s/ns 2018, 2110 and 2112: These are In fact Hansa-Brandenburg W.12 aircraft. Again there is only an internal structural difference between a W.12 and a W.29. I cannot belief former Turkish Army aircraft ever appeared on the Greek civil register and therefore I think these two aircraft may have been original operated by the Greek Army. I feel this is additional proof that not all 105 L18Bs went to Turkey The L-4J’s were coded “01-15” One L-18B was coded “074” Some sources say that 222 L-18B/C were delivered Some sources say that 112 L-21B were delivered Page 241 This Bell 206L-3……..
