Whether you’re considering adding sandcarving to your
business or recently did, this beginners’ workshop is perfect
for you. Willis will help you identify quality vector artwork and
halftone images; discuss how to properly produce photoresist
stencils quickly for small or large orders; explain how to apply
photoresist stencils to a variety of substrates such as glass,
stone, wood, and metal; explore the right techniques for curved
and flat surfaces; and provide guidance in setting up your own
high-production sandcarving area to increase production as your
business grows. All participants will sandcarve their own project
to try out their new skills and have something to bring back
home.

logos into perfect vector versions. This seminar will show you
ways to perform these conversions in CorelDRAW and Corel

re-create artwork quickly, and ways to avoid conversion

Why choose sandcarving? Sandcarving personalized images is
fast, easy, fun, and profitable, giving you many options to add
revenue to your business. In this hands-on class, you will learn
to sandblast a wide array of substrates and learn successful
tricks of the professionals. Jones and Norman will touch on
color-filling, easy stagecarving, and etching compound curves.
Effective techniques for generating halftones with Halfwiz will
be demonstrated, and the best artwork practices for different
sandcarving applications will be discussed. Artworks needs and
for multistage carving and shading techniques will be covered.

General Information
Hotel and Show Location
The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino
is the headquarters hotel for the
2016 International Awards &
Personalization Expo. The Awards
and Personalization Association has
secured special conference rates of
$70 (Sunday–Thursday) and $110
(Friday–Saturday) per night, plus tax,
for a single or double room.
The special conference rate will be honored, based on hotel
availability, for stays 3 days before and after the conference.
To receive these conference rates, be sure to mention the
group name Awards and Personalization Association or use
code SRARA5. A limited number of rooms have been reserved
at these special rates and may sell out prior to the cutoff date
of February 5, 2016. Reservations made after the room block
sells out or after February 5 may be subject to a higher rate.
To avoid paying a $20 daily resort fee, make your reservation
within the Awards and Personalization Association hotel

Registration Information
Preregistration Deadline: February 23, 2016
Awards and Personalization Association Member Registration:
Members benefit from FREE access to the show floor and all
business-building educational sessions.
Qualified Nonmember Registration: The registration fee is $75
per person. Fees for educational seminars vary; please refer
to the course description and registration form for details.
Qualified nonmembers are for-profit businesses offering
personalization and recognition products in a retail setting and
conducting business in accordance with state and local laws.
To qualify, you must have a business license or tax ID number.
Preregistration: Register by February 23, 2016, to
have your badge conveniently ready for pickup at
registration. You can register by phone, fax, or mail, or
online at www.AwardsPersonalization.org.
Confirmation: Confirmation will be e-mailed within 3
weeks of receipt of registration. Please contact the Awards
and Personalization Association if you do not receive a
confirmation.
Special Assistance: If you need special assistance, please call
Member Services at 800.344.2148 or 847.375.4800.
Cancellation Policy: Show registration cancellations must be
made in writing. Full refunds will be made if you cancel at
least 14 days prior to the seminar or workshop. There are no
refunds if the cancellation is made within 14 days of the expo.
Please keep a copy of your registration for your records.
Deductibility of Expenses: Consult your tax adviser for more
information regarding the deductibility of registration and
membership expenses.
Program Changes and Cancellations: The Awards and
Personalization Association reserves the right to substitute
speakers or to cancel and reschedule sessions because of any
unforeseen circumstances. If our association must cancel a
show, registrants will receive a full credit or refund of their
paid registration fee. No refunds can be made for lodging,
airfare, or any related expenses.
