Meals on Wheels of Trenton/Ewing
would like to announce that Freddie’s Tavern,
Marsilio’s Kitchen of Ewing, Café 72 by Cugino’s
and Mikonos Restaurant will partner with us to
support March for Meals! On four special days in
March, these local Ewing restaurants will donate
10% to Meals on Wheels of Trenton/Ewing
(MOWTE) provide meals for the home bound
and to help highlight the needs of the home
bound of Trenton and Ewing.
Meals on Wheels Association of America began March for Meals in 2002 to help communities organize local companies and government officials to raise awareness about the needs
of the elderly and disabled home bound. Part of
March for Meals is Community Champions for
Meals, a special day when local dignitaries can
help deliver meals and see first hand the needs of
those bound to their homes due to illness, frailty
or disability. It can truly be an eye opening event!
“We are asking all our supporters to
come out once again to help MOWTE, but this
time, it will be with delicious results! “ said Sasa
Olessi Montaño, Executive Director of Meals on
Wheels of Trenton/Ewing. “Patronize these generous local restaurants, have a wonderful meal
and help provide a meal for the home bound. It’s
that simple!”
Come to Freddie’s Tavern on Tues-
day, March 4, located at 12 Railroad Avenue, in Ewing,
and dine for lunch and dinner.
On Wednesday, March 12, Marsilio’s Kitchen
you can dine for lunch and dinner. They are located at
71 West Upper Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ.
Dine for breakfast and lunch on Wednesday, March
19 at Café 72 by Cugino’s located at 72 West Upper
Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ.
Mikonos Restaurant, 50 Scotch Road, Ewing, NJ
will host MOWTE supporters on Tuesday, March 25
for lunch and dinner.
No flyers are required when you go to the
restaurants. Just go, tell your servers that you are there
to support MOWTE, and enjoy! MOWTE would like to
thank all four of these restaurants for their support of
the home bound.
22nd Annual Golf Outing on June 5!
Save the Date! On June 5th, MOWTE
will host the 22nd Annul MOWTE Golf Outing
and Awards Dinner at Mountain View Golf Club
in Ewing, NJ. In 2013, the Golf Outing raised
over $25,000 for MOWTE helping to provide
4,762 meals for the home bound.
“The Golf Outing, through our sponsors
and golfers, is very important to MOWTE,” said
Adam Hughes, Esq., Co-chair of the Golf Outing
event. “Everyone has a great time out on the golf
course and knowing that they are helping to provide meals to the homebound is the added benefit.
Our sponsorships are a great opportunity for
local businesses to reach the entire MOWTE
community. If you have supported us before,
expect a call. If you haven’t, we hope you’ll join
our family of sponsors this year!”

Trenton Times Holiday Appeal
Yields Over $57,000 in Donations!
The 2013 Times of Trenton Holiday Appeal was a
great success as through challenge grants and donations, over
$57,000 was raised for MOWTE! MOWTE is so grateful to
The Times of Trenton and all those who donated to the Appeal as these funds will provide over 10,850 meals,
We especially want to thank our challenge grant
sponsors, The Rose and Louis H. Linowitz Charitable Foundation for a $5,000 challenge grant, The Bunbury Company for a
$10,000 challenge grant, and NJM Insurance Group for ending
the Appeal with a $7,000 donation which took the total raised
well above hat raised the year before! The Times donations
reached all the challenges made.
Thank you to all who donated! You are making a
difference in the lives of the home bound we serve!
Fall Direct Mail Campaign Is Amazing!
For the second year in a row, the Fall Direct Mail
Campaign has been a fantastic success for Meals on Wheels of
Trenton/Ewing. Included in the list of donors below are over
1000 names of individuals who have donated to help MOWTE
feed the home bound. Raising over $60,000 today, the fall campaign is the result of a cooperative effort of Meals on Wheels of
Trenton/Ewing and over 30 other Meals on Wheels organizations around the country in the Meals on Wheels Cooperative.
“Your donation through the Fall Direct Mail Campaign go direct to providing meals to the home bound in the
Trenton/Ewing area. These funds will be providing almost
11,500 meals during 2014.” said Susan Valentine, President of
the Board of Directors.
