HAPPY NEW YEAR! As we reflect on 2015 and prepare for 2016, we are reminded of the good times we enjoyed with you this year at Saugahatchee. Here are some
of the accomplishments that come to mind in 2015:
• The course is in its best condition in years
• Net membership gain of +8 for the year (2nd best in 10 years)
• Best Member Party in 20 years according to those who attended
• Pool usage was up 114% due to “No Guest Fees”
• We brought back “Heart Of Dixie” golf tournament with
106 players
• Saved $32,510.79 from operations for Capital Improvement Fund
• Hired Key Staff: Charlie Richardson, Brittany Camacho, Betty Riley, Trey Dorsey & Robin Frantz
• Theme Nights – Burger, Shrimp, Taco &
Wing nights very well attended
• New carpet & paint in downstairs hallway & administrative offices
• Outperformed budgeted net operating income by $17,000
• Outperformed 2014 Net Operating Income by $128,000
• Started Kids’ Movie Nights which were very well attended

Dear Members,
Happy New Year from the golf turf staff.
The greens and greens complexes have now had two full growing seasons in
which to mature. The maturing process is very important and these areas will
continue to improve. We have developed a good solid agronomic program for
both our greens and greens complexes.
So far the winter has been mild compared to previous years. So, the course has
stayed much greener longer then usual, which adds to the golfing experience. Even
with the milder temperatures the greens at some point will need to be covered. The
greens will be covered when the temperature is forecast to be below 27 degrees. Please
be patient during the covering process, we are just looking out for our turf.
We have started several projects around the course and have a few others planned. We have been
doing tree removal/tree trimming/underbrushing around the course. We will be adding drainage to a
couple of green complexes. Also worn areas around greens, especially collars between greens and bunkers will be repaired.
We are continually identifying areas around the course that are in need of repair or just improvement. If
you see anything that you think might help with the appearance of the course please let me know.
Please help keep our greens in the good condition by repairing ball marks. This is very critical this time
of year as the grass is not growing. Filling divots is also important this time of year for the same reason.
Again, thank you for raking bunkers, repairing ball marks, and filling divots.

I am truly excited to be at Saugahatchee Country Club as YOUR Golf Professional.
Things are getting settled and I am starting to put names with faces. Our Indoor
Teaching and Fitting Studio turned out fantastic! We have teaching monitors and
video lessons, and an indoor hitting bay for teaching and fitting. For video, we use
Hudl Technique. It allows us to video your swing, analyze your swing, and email
you the results. A rate sheet for lessons can be found on page 11. Just call the shop
to set up your lessons or clinic. We will have our “Get Golf Ready” Clinics for
Spring and Summer schedule coming up in March. Classes will be Ladies Only and
Coed. We are working on our Junior Golf Schedule for Spring and Summer. We
will conduct Junior Golf Clinics and our Junior Golf Academy. Details to come.

Saugahatchee Country Club’s Golf Club Repair Shop is open for
business. The Shop is outfitted with the latest in repair technology. Our
state-of-the-art shop consists of a loft and lie machine, putter-bending
machine, shaft frequency analyzer, and swing weight scales. We perform
all repairs, from reshafting and regripping to changing the loft or lie on
your clubs, right here on site. Most repairs can be performed in one day.
We also offer a wide variety of grips and shafts in stock.
Special orders are welcomed. We can obtain most grips/shafts within a
couple days
