Electronic Parking Sensor System
Rear/Around view Monitor
The electronic parking sensor system is a parking aid which uses ultrasonic
sensors. It monitors the area around your vehicle using sensors mounted in
the front and rear bumper. The parking sensor system audibly indicates the
distance between your vehicle and an object being detected.
The rear view or around view monitor
system helps you to manoeuvre your
vehicle by displaying objects behind
and/or around the vehicle, e.g. when
parking your vehicle.
The electronic parking sensor system is automatically activated when:
•
•
•
The ignition is switched on.
The shift lever is in position D or R (automatic transmission models)
or when a forward or reverse gear is selected (manual transmission
models).
The electric parking brake is released.
When an object is detected at the front or rear of the vehicle, the system will
alert you by an audible beep. The nearer the vehicle gets to the object, the
more frequently the beep will sound.
To temporarily switch off the parking sensor system,
push the electronic parking sensor system OFF
switch on the lower part of the instrument panel.
The indicator light in the switch will turn on. Push
the switch again to switch the system on. The
indicator light in the switch will turn off.
When switched OFF, the parking sensor system will automatically be
reactivated when the engine is restarted.
The system will automatically be activated when you
select reverse gear. Also, you can manually activate
the system by pushing the <CAMERA> button
on
the INFINITI Controller. The camera view will only be
displayed with the ignition switched ON.
Pressing the camera button repeatedly will change the
views of the around view monitor.
MOvINg OBJECT DETECTION
The around view monitor is equipped with a Moving Object Detection (MOD)
function. If a moving object is detected, a yellow box will appear around the
camera image and a beep will sound to warn you on the moving object being
detected.
23
Intelligent Park Assist
Intelligent Park Assist is only an aid. It is not a substitute for your attention
to the immediate surroundings. The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you as the driver of the vehicle.
Intelligent Park Assist can judge whether a parking space is big enough to
park your vehicle in and takes over steering control to park inside the space. It
can also assist with parking into a bay.
Note: when using the Intelligent Park Assist system, steering is taken over by the system.
You need to accelerate and brake yourself!
For full details on using the Intelligent Park Assist system, refer to your
vehicle’s Owner’s Manual.
Cruise Control and Speed Limiter Systems
Intelligent Park Assist is activated automatically when driving forwards with a
speed up to approx. 35 km/h. While in operation, the system independently
locates and measures parking spaces on both sides of the vehicle.
When driving at low speeds,
the parking symbol
will be
displayed in the upper display
(automatic transmission models)
or in the main display (manual
transmission models).
When a parking space is detected at
either side of the road, an arrow
will be displayed at the left or right side of the parking symbol.
Parking spaces on the passenger side will automatically be displayed by the
arrow in the display. For the system to search for and display parking spaces
on the driver's side, the driver's side turn signal light must be switched on.
To confirm a parking space being detected, press the <OK> button on the
steering wheel.
After shifting into reverse gear or selecting the R position on models with
automatic transmission, messages on the vehicle information display will
guide you through the assisted parking procedure.
Cruise Control and Speed Limiter Operation
Cruise control maintains a constant (set) speed for you without the need for
you to depress the accelerator pedal.
The speed limiter limits your speed to a set maximum speed, unless you fully
depress the accelerator pedal.
The systems are operational only at speeds above approx. 30 km/h.
To switch between cruise control and speed limiter operation, quickly push
on the cruise control/speed limiter lever. If the speed limiter is
the button
activated, the <LIM> indicator light
in the lever will illuminate. If the light is
off, cruise control is selected. To deactivate the cruise control system, briefly
push the lever towards the front of the vehicle.
24
FUNCTIONS OF CRUISE CONTROL/SPEED LIMITER LEvER
INTELLIgENT CRUISE CONTROL (ICC)
The ICC system uses a sensor behind the INFINITI logo on the front grille to
detect a vehicle driving ahead of you. If the speed of the detected vehicle is
lower than the speed of your vehicle, the ICC system will automatically reduce
your cruising speed to maintain a distance selected by you.
Note that the ICC system can only apply about 50% of
the total braking force. If the ICC system cannot maintain
the selected distance, a chime will sound and the vehicle
ahead indicator light will come on to notify you to take
necessary action.
Briefly move lever upwards to store the current speed.
Move lever upwards and hold to store a higher speed.
Release lever when desired speed is reached.
Speed limiter ON indicator light.
To increase the distance
to the vehicle ahead to
be maintained by the ICC
system, turn the knob
clockwise. To reduce the
distance, turn the knob
counter-clockwise.
Store current speed or call up last stored speed.
Briefly move lever downwards to store the current speed.
Move lever downwards and hold to store a lower speed.
Release lever when desired speed is reached.
For full details on Cruise Control, Intelligent Cruise Control and Speed Limiter
information, please refer to your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual.
Switch between cruise control and speed limiter.
Deactivate cruise control/speed limiter system.
To start using the cruise control/speed limiter:
on
1. Select either cruise control or speed limiter by pressing button
the lever.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed.
or down
to store the current speed.
3. Briefly press the lever up
4. In case cruise control is selected, you can now take your foot off the
accelerator pedal.
25
Hill Start Assist
BLIND SPOT WARNINg
The Hill Start Assist system automatically keeps the brakes applied for a short
time to prevent the vehicle from rolling as you start to drive away on a downor uphill slope.
This gives you enough time to move your foot from the brake pedal to the
accelerator pedal before the vehicle starts to roll.
The Blind Spot Warning (BSW) helps you to detect vehicles in the lane(s) next
to you.
When the system detects vehicles in a

FORWARD EMERgENCy BRAKE
WARNINg
The Forward Emergency Brake system assists you in avoiding front collisions.
The system uses a radar sensor located behind the INFINITI logo on the front
grille to calculate the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of
you.
If the distance becomes too small, the vehicle ahead
indicator light
will flash. If the distance becomes
even smaller a chime will sound and the forward
collision avoidance system warning light will start
flashing. If finally the distance becomes even smaller,
active braking will be applied to avoid or reduce the impact of a collision with
the vehicle in front of you.
Forward Emergency Brake can
be switched on or off through
the [Assist] menu on the vehicle
information display.
The forward emergency brake system is a supplemental aid to the driver. It is
not a substitute for your attention to traffic conditions or your responsibility
to drive safely. It cannot prevent accidents due to carelessness or dangerous
driving.
The forward emergency brake system may not function under all driving,
traffic, weather and road conditions.
Note: Refer to your vehicle's Owner's Manual for full details on the functioning of the
Forward Emergency Brake system.
TRAFFIC SIgN RECOgNITION
Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
displays detected speed limits and
other traffic signs on the vehicle
information display.
It uses a camera, mounted behind
the windshield to detect traffic signs.
If the system detects a conditional
speed limit, then both speeds and
conditions are displayed on the
vehicle information display.
Traffic Sign Recognition settings can be adjusted through [Assist] menu on the
vehicle information display.
