Hanging Curtains
Chainmail is par excellence the ideal material for curtains and light partitioning.
Its host of features is as appealing as ever, though their implementation requires
precision and professionalism.
This is why, as a result of its wide experience in projects, FOIN® CHAINMAIL has
designed a line of hanging curtains that meets, with the utmost simplicity, the
main configurations encountered in furnishing projects.
Their fastening systems (rings, tabs, rollers, etc.) and their dimensions are thus
tailored to all the most current situations. The range proposed truly enhances
materials to the full and hence meets all those wishing to bring chainmail into
their daily lives.

Chainmail hanging curtain properties
Free-flowing
Foin®CHAINMAIL is the only completely supple
metal mesh. It can be used to create a draped
effect through which it is even possible to cross.
This free-flowing effect offers wide flexibility in
the different possible uses made of space, with
modulated light effects. It adds a truly sumptuous
touch.
Break
The “break” of curtains on the floor ensures a
lovely hanging effect while absorbing the slight
variations in height.
With up to 135 000 rings per square metre,
some tolerance cannot be avoided.
Gather
Curved Assembly
All our hanging curtains can be mounted on
curved rods to meet the most demanding
environments.
Fire Resistance
Foin®CHAINMAIL is M0 classified (non-combustible) and can be tailored for use in areas
with a large number of restraints: for events,
show rooms, public-access buildings as well
as in damp environments such as swimming
pools or spas.
While Chainex 07 chainmail can be used flat, it
is necessary to gather SL material.

Foin CHAINMAIL catches the light ever so
harmoniously. The effects generated with
colour lights are truly sensational.

Projection Screen
It is possible to project images onto Foin®CHAINMAIL, as demonstrated at the National Theatre of Nice on a Chainex fringe curtain.
Transparency
A play can be made on gathers and on the lighting
area to obtain very different effects, forever creating
new and surprising impacts.

316L stainless steel and aluminium are the materials mainly used to manufacture chainmail,
whether in rings or flat.
These high quality materials, that naturally resist corrosion, are non-combustible, easy to
clean, perfectly neutral and are suitable for contact with food.
Fully recyclable and durable, they are long-lasting and ecological.
Chainmail
Ring mesh
Comprised of individually-welded rings, the
latter form supple and free-flowing sheets.
SL chainmail is the finest. It can be manufactured in stainless steel or in polished or gilded
brass for certain curtain dimensions.
Chainex 07 chainmail offers larger rings.
More transparent than SL chainmail, it is
manufactured in stainless steel only.
This chainmail cannot be tinted. If this is
the effect you are seeking, think of using
coloured lights.
SL
Flat chainmail
LAMEX + is made up of small rectangular
aluminium plates joined by welded stainless
steel rings, together forming an articulated,
faceted sheet. There are no constraints
regarding width. This mesh can be coloured
by way of anodising (See our material data
sheets), while this finish is not part of the
standard range.
NB: The hanging curtain models cannot all be
manufactured using every type of our mesh.

FRINGE CURTAIN
A particularly suitable response for:
- A fixed, fun and lively curtain
- A divider which is easy to cross
- A modular solution without any visible joins
- Ever-so-light partitioning
The fringe curtain offers a special free-flowing effect. Lightweight and
mobile, it is open to all tactile effects. The fringe reflects the light in a
random manner to create a subtle vibration.
To obtain the desired width, you can slide several curtains onto a single rod.

lightly filtered view, offering a play on light and
highlighting the material’s delicate notes.

A particularly suitable response for:
- Creating a true visual separation while letting the light filter gently in
- Flat, curved or sculptural shapes
- Reflecting the light
- An ultra easy movement for use as a door panel or to hide stored items
These panels are very easy to assemble:
They come with standard rollers ready to slide onto the track, and are
suitable for curved or straight surfaces. It is recommended to envisage
a recess or a sufficient drop in order to hide the goblet that is formed
between the hooks.

A particularly suitable response for:
- A curtain needing to be handled frequently
- A visible unit (curtain and rings)
- A curtain placed in front of an opening or for lightweight partitioning
For a truly aesthetic, refined and consistent solution, the stainless steel rings have been
selected for their high quality and perfect harmony with chainmail.
For larger and therefore heavier curtains, Foin®CHAINMAIL offers passing
ring models, where the rings can pass easily and in complete safety, enabling you to use
as many fastening points as needed. This fastening system is recommended for
special furnishing constraints (curved or angular surfaces).

A particularly suitable response for:
- Curtains with little or no movement
- Leaving the rods visible or to give a curtain a lovely, regularly gathered look
- Partition or separation
- Wide-scale draping effect
Aficionados of ‘‘100% materials’’ will be taken in by this curtain, as a result
of its particularly free-flowing effect, supple and sensual drape to make it
hang just right. When gathered, it adds fullness to the total look. You need
only to slide the tabs onto the rod.

CURTAINS ON TRACK SYSTEM
A particularly suitable response for:
- Curtains often opened or closed
(excellent sliding effect)
- Hiding fastening systems
- Installing lighting into the grooves to
highlight the material
Light is a true partner for this curtain.
Oblique and filtering, it is an integral part
of the installation.
These curtains are very easy to mount. They come with
standard rollers that are ready to slide onto the track
and are suitable for straight or curved rods.
We recommend you allow for a sufficient
recess or drape to hide the goblets that
are formed between the hooks.
