Greater Kansas City region in Missouri:
Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray.

MISSOURI AUTOMOTIVE JOBS ACT
FEC board members, along with a community
coalition of economic development,
community leaders, organized labor, business
associations and the public workforce system,
formed the Ford 2020 Task Force to support
the Missouri Automotive Jobs Act, which
helped to generate up to $225 million to
retain and expand automobile manufacturing
in the state of Missouri.

TACTIC: COMMUNITY-BASED RECRUITMENT

2012: 1,100 jobs moved to KY
2013: MO Automotive Jobs Act passed, Ford undertakes a $1.3
billion renovation and builds a new Stamping Facility; insourced manufacture of commercial van from Europe, creating
2,000 new jobs that will be filled by the 1,000 idled workers and
900 new workers.
Full Employment Council works with local Unions and the State
of MO Division of Workforce Development to set up
Unemployment Claim Centers for employees idled in 2012, and
provides Ford with more than 10,000 persons to fill more than
1,000 new jobs.
