Dear Friends,
As we welcome the snowy season once again, Geneva keeps surprising us with the variety of events
that will keep us warm during the holidays and the winter of 2016. Mountains have already started
turning white and the smell of hot wine in the old town create this cosy feeling of wonderful days to
come. We are indeed so lucky to have plenty of snow in the ski resorts this year!
Showtime seems to offer many stars. Bharati will take you to India and its colorful culture; Sinatra &
Friends will bring you back to the rat pack in Las Vegas. And of course... our famous electron festival
end of March will shake off our backs all remaining snow and prepare us for the spring.
Rum lovers will also find a new place in town called Little Barrrel, they specialize in rum cocktails and
have the widest selection of rum in the city with more than 70 different brands from 27 different countries including the rare “Compagnie des Indes”. A small and cosy place, just the way we like them.
We are also changing at Dergatcheff, focusing much more on Real Estate advisory for families and
private companies. Our love for this city and the natural trend of these last few years lead us towards
this sector that we have always found fascinating. Investing in real estate has its own values and
particularities and we aim the new privileges that are offered. Evenmore when it's in the Geneva area!

Stephen Triffit, Mark Adams and George Daniel Long are bringing back to life the Rat Pack, reproducing their original concerts

incredible Argentinian pianist. After studying in our beautiful city

and many more. He is also winner of the Franz Liszt contest in
Buenos Aires and the International Geneva Music Competition.

9TH ZERMATT UNPLUGGED FESTIVAL

HUNDERTWASSER PAINTINGS EXHIBITION
Till January 10th - Geneva
Founded in 2007 by Thomas Sterchi and Marco Godat as a
festival of songwriters and performers, the Zermatt Unplugged
has become increasingly popular and is now a meeting point for
pure music lovers. It is the only festival of its kind in Europe, and
can count on the patronage of major Swiss organizers of
festivals – Urs Leierer (Blue Balls Festival), Anni Frid Prinzessin
Reuss, the A ABBA, and Dieter Meier (Yello). Late Claude Nobs
(Montreux Jazz Festival) and Jon Lord, the Hammond organ
player innovative and co-founder of Deep Purple, were part of
the sponsorship committee. A great line-up makes once again
a successful festival.
A passionate of water and colors! Those who know Hundertwasser already know he loved the environment and incorporated a little of it in every single of his paintings. His goal was to
make men and nature live together. A room full of bright colors
is showcasing his life and works at the SIG.

CULLY JAZZ FESTIVAL
April 8th - April 16th - Cully
The young musicians and the well-known jazz artists, the
traditional wine cellars, and the very hospitable village on the
shores of Geneva Lake are what make the Cully Jazz Festival
the ultimate destination for those who love music and are
looking for something out of the ordinary. Two “festivals”
happening in one single place. Three stages will host the most
talented artists from the Swiss and international jazz music
stage making the Cully jazz festival the “in” place to be. At the
same time thirteen local wine cellars and cafes will offer to the
public live performances of young promising jazz musicians. On
the weekends you can find activities for kids, like music
workshops, beat box lessons and crafts made with recycled

GANDHI ET L’ART DE LA NON-VIOLENCE

NUIT DES BAINS

The association the Contemporary Art District of the rue des
Bains, 12 galleries and 4 cultural institutions open their doors for
an evening dedicated to art. Walk from one gallery to the other,
meet with great artists, discover new trends and designs while
enjoying a drink in down town streets of Geneva. La rue des
Bains has become the place to be for art galleries and hosts the
city’s Mamco museum and the Contemporary Art Centre. The
“Nuit de Bains” evenings will be held on January 14th, March

LASCAUX EXHIBITION
Discover the prehistoric art of the most famous cave in the
world. An exhibition taking us back to the beginnings of
mankind, a period we still know very little about will take place at
Palexpo till January 17th. With full-sized reproductions of the

the cave. An introduction to pre-historic life and the beginning of
civilization; it is an exhibition that will enlighten not only children

Choosing the notion of “rediscover” as its theme, the new

CRICKET ON ICE
February 18th - February 20th - St. Morritz
It is always a pleasure to watch cricket and even a grater one to
watch it on ice where the effort and game skills are more demanding.
Starting Thursday February 18th and through Saturday February
20th,4 teams will compete in a 20 over round-robin tournament.
You’ll be delighted to watch a slightly different game to the
traditional cricket, since the ball is made of hard rubber to avoid it
gets wet and heavy on the ice; not to mention faster balls since
they travel further in the air because of the altitude. Be assured
you’ll get a 3 hour show of spectacular acrobatic dives, exciting
shots and of course an elegant use of the bat. A challenging
sport often under difficult conditions for the player. This year as well,
drinks and lunches will be served on the ice between every
match by Hotel Schweitzerhof and the black-tie awards “off the ice”
awards will take place at the Hotel Steffani on Saturday evening.

GSTAAD SNOW GOLF

English writer, Rudyard Kipling, author of The Jungle Book and
laureate winner, was the creator of the Snow Golf concept.
Passionate about literature, Rudyard was a sports lover. With
his need of creation, he was the first person to ever play golf on
the snow. Some would say that this very particular sport was
already being played in the frozen lakes of Alaska. I guess we
will never really know… Snow Golf is a little different from the
regular sport. A first ball is thrown and all the players have to get
as close as possible to it in order to win. If you play on a lake
then a little circle will be drawn and like in regular golf, you need
to reach it. Snow Golf has been played in our beautiful country
since 1979. Everyone can play during winter in our mountains
and there’s even the Gstaad Snow Golf contest to create some
positive thrills. All you need is warm clothes, good sunglasses
and most of all… snow!

Located in the heart of Geneva, La Plancha is a mixture of a pub

atmosphere, this still very new Wine Bar offers you organic
wines and delicious food. The host take a moment to explain
and give you information on every glass you taste and his
passion for his art only reflects his broad knowledge on the
subject. Their Chef, winner of the Best Bistro in Paris, has for
you a subtle and greedy selection of tapas. Incredible flavors
and professional service will make you fall in love with the place.

Le café des bains is an old bistro that re-opened its doors in
2000 by Blaise Hatt-Arnold and Caroline Vogelsang. The
renovation and the design were imagined by the architect
Charles Pictet who wanted to give the place a more modern
look and the the same time keep the feeling of a warm and cosy
bohemian bistro. Something simple but artsy. Caroline hung-up
works from her own collection on the walls, and gave her very
special final touch. You will find it to be a friendly bistro with great
music, a good service and an menu from all over the world.

A delicious bar restaurant located near the very well known rue
de la Medecine. You have the choice between many great Italian
dishes or you can go for something more traditional like
Malakoffs, the tasty melting cheese balls served with jerked

Caroni, and Zafra 21. Passionate owners and cocktail masters
Quentin Beurgaud and Nicolas Berger will make you travel
through the different tastes and character of the sugar cane
alcohol. They give a new life and spark to each and every of their
cocktails just to make you wonder how it’s still possible to
surprise you with a drink. Is it their touch? Or is it their choice of
rum? Or should we just call it inspiration? The small happy place
has been creatively designed and staged in such a way you will

Dominique Guberan settled her little shop of trendy decoration
objects in the heart of what we call the bank area.Ludic and
funny, Pop In never faced the economic crisis. Created to bring
a little “Pop” in our professional lives: customizable mouse

KALISKA’S HANDMADE DREAMCATCHERS
A talented student in Interior design here in Geneva, Kaliska
started creating dreamcatchers from scratch just for the love of
it. Using feathers, shells, coloured twines, suede and creative
textiles to create unique designs. Her success came quite
quickly and she started selling them regularly. You can find
them at Bac+ on rue du Vieux-Collège. Her creations inspire
freedom, good vibes and love.

This winter we are blessed with not 1 but
3 ice-skating rings in Geneva. The
magical winter lodge at La Réserve is
maybe the coziest place for a Sunday
brunch; the big ring in Carouge (600m2)
with an ice bar and a fondue bar for those who might be a little
hungry; and finally the lovely ice skating at the Parc de Bastion,
where you can skate carelessly under the trees. The ice-skating
season has started… because the holiday season is just not as
magical without ice-skating!
PHILIPPE CRAMER
Philippe is an amazing artist who opened his first gallery right
here in Geneva and located it in the contemporary art neighbourhood. Philippe chose to experiment new forms and
techniques in order to create new jewelleries, silverware and
crystals using the methods of an artist. He also wrote Dergatcheff's season's greetings cards a few years ago. After exhibiting
his work in different renown galleries, in 2011, the Geneva

DOMIZIANA ANTAMORO
Inspired by the colours of Africa, Geneva designer Domiziana
Antamoro started her own business in 2014. Using only leather
and textiles created in South Africa, each product is carefully
handmade. After her first collection and great success, Domiziana launched her e-shop recently to show the world her unique
bag collections. We are watching this young designer create
and establish herself among the trendsetters, and we definitely
in the waits for the new collection.
