5—Christmas Eve. Candlelight Service Tuesday December 24 @ 7
- Pete Scott
As popular as “Arena Concerts” are at places like the Staples Center,
so too are “unplugged” musical performances where the music is performed acoustically at small venues like coffee shops. These small
gatherings are more intimate and the raw “soul” of the performer
comes through unenhanced, undigitized.
Christmas in Western culture, even church culture is more often celebrated “arena style”. What do I mean? We tend to make it a big event
with things like Singing Christmas Trees with a 500 voice choir nestled in the branches, lots of flash, pageantry etc. Truth is that’s alright, because we know the “rest of the story”, Christmas is a big deal
Take in the sights and sounds of City Walk all decked out for Christmas and join us for a great dinner @ Camacho's Cantina.
“Camacho’s Cantina at Universal CityWalk epitomizes the energy, sights and
sounds of the Universal Studios Hollywood scene. The Camacho’s Cantina dining
experience is famous for its vibrant atmosphere, live Mariachi performances,
friendly staff, and magnificently presented, mouthwatering upscale Mexican
cuisine.”1

and there is nothing wrong with celebrating it like that. But this
Christmas @ COTH we are choosing to go “unplugged” allowing
Christmas’ natural simplicity - a small town, “little people”, a manger
and an unlikely Savior from improbable parents to shine through.
