training center, 30 minutes north of Dallas. We also invite you to
stay at our very own bed and breakfast, the ʻQuilt N Sleepoverʼ.

Training: Beginning Longarm
Two-day
Beginning Longarm Quilting
In this workshop you will learn how the quilting machine
works, and how to adjust it. You will also learn how to properly
set-up the quilt on the machine, and complete a pantograph
pattern. You will also be shown how to set a pattern using the
acrylic stencil kit included with the machine.
On the second day you will learn how to use the Workstation
to make perfect circles, ovals, crosshatching etc. You will also
learn how to use the Gam Guide for straight and diagonal lines.
All aspects of quilting as a business will also be thoroughly
covered in this class.

Two-day Airbrushing
In this class for advanced students, you will learn the basics of
air-brushing and will complete a small wholecloth quilt with
airbrushed fake applique trapunto.
Each studentʼs project is different and unique!

This class is for advanced students who want to create a very
beautiful wholecloth using trapunto methods.
Linda will be by your side for consultation. She always shares
her ideas freely, and will make sure you get a very good start

You asked for it! This fabulous hands-on class is constructed
to help you learn more in-depth maintenance on your Gammill
machine. We begin with the theory of how the machine operates,
then trouble-shoot the cause & effect of machine tensions.
All the adjustments needed to ensure smooth operation of the
machine will be covered including: timing of the machine;
hopping foot timing; adjustments of hopping foot height;
balancing wheels; needle bar replacement; and rocking finger
timing. Any other maintenance concerns will also be addressed
during class. A maintenance DVD is included.

Linda V. Taylor, the undisputed leader in longarm training,

near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Linda offers a chance to make your escape from the tasks
of everyday life and take a quilting retreat. Make it a summer
family vacation, and then while the family takes a dayʼs break
you can take a day (or two!) to yourself to improve your skills
as a quilter!

exciting and informative Lindaʼs classes are. This retreat offers
you a chance to improve techniques, share and learn with other
quilters, and then return to your quilting business refreshed, and

Pantograph (n)— an instrument for copying on a
predetermined scale
Pantograph, on a quilting machine, is performed by attaching
a stylus, made of either wood, metal or a laser light, to the sewing
head. The stylus is directed toward the table top under the machine
head. A pattern is positioned on the table top. The user can then
follow the pattern, transposing the pattern to the quilt.
Lindaʼs Electric Quilters produces these patterns. Our patterns
are printed on large sheets of paper, usually 10 feet long and 24
inches wide. Each pattern is comprised of either several sizes of
the same pattern, or several different patterns. A line is printed to
separate these patterns, allowing you to cut the sheet into strips.
LEQ pattern authors, such as Linda V. Talyor, have explicitly
detailed each pattern to denote how a pattern is to be offset to best
interlock each row.

Gammill Longarm Machines
Gammill Longarm Machine Information
Gammill longarm machines come in 3 different sizes.
The Premier has a 14” sewing area and comes with either a
special portable stand (called the Family-Craft) or with a normal stand.
The Classic has a 21” sewing area and is available with any
feature and stand size.
The Optimum has a 24” sewing area! It also is available
with any feature and stand size.
All machines include a die-cast aluminum two-control
sewing head and an all-steel stand. The “Sit or Stand” feature
is now integrated into our standard line of tables!
Conventional Longarm Machines
These models that are most basic. You set the speed with
a dial, and then the machine will sew at a constant speed.
Stitch-Regulated Longarm Machines
The Stitch-Regulated machines feature a built-in computer
chip that senses any changes in your motion speed, and then
changes the sewing speed accordingly. This regulation results
in an even stitch regardless of speed. This feature is really
popular, and helps lessen the learning curve when starting out.
These machines can also be run in a Conventional mode.
Statler Stitcher
The Statler Stitcher is the most impressive and advanced of
the features. This system is connected to a typical Dell desktop computer and CNC controller. All you need to do is load a
pattern into the software, setup the size and placement, and the
machine will quilt away! You can also disengage the computer
and operate it in Regulated or Conventional modes. This feature is available only on Classic and Optimum machines.

Heirloom premium cotton blend
is very clean cotton mixed with
20% polyester. It is lightly
needle-punched and lightly
resonated. It can be quilted by
hand or machine, and can be
quilted up to 4 inches apart. It
has more loft than the typical
cotton batting which gives more
definition to the stitch than other
100% cottons.
Heirloom 80/20 bleached cotton
blend batting is made with the
same formula as Heirloom
80/20 premium cotton, only
bleached (white) cotton is
substituted for the unbleached
cotton used in Heirloom
premium. Quilters should
find that it quilts the same as
Heirloom 80/20 premium.
Heirloom 80/20 black cotton
blend batting is made with the

distinct weights, 6 oz., 9 oz., and
12 oz. Each type is resin bonded
to resist fiber migration. 6 oz. is
a low loft for hand or machine
quilting. 9 oz. is a medium
loft also for hand and machine
