SYNOPSIS
A troupe of comedians and musicians arriv e in town and start making havoc. They are a group of
artists that travel from town to town telling the legend of William Tell.
They set up the stage and introduce the characters they will play: William Tell, his wife Eduv igis, his
son Jemmy, his companion Leutold, old Melcthal and ev il Gessler with his entourage of Austrian
soldiers.
Helped by objects, puppets and audiov isuals they will tell you how the Austrians destroyed the
Swiss little v illage were William Tell liv ed, and how he confront them, of his extraordinary aim that
sav ed his son’s life, of how he was caught prisoner and of how he regained freedom and started
the uprising of the Swiss people against the Austrians.
In the purest La Baldufa style, the fast action, the farce, the humour and a refined aesthetic will
be the backbone of a fresh and fun show that will surely bring the universe of Rossini and the
opera closer to the family.

LA BALDUFA
La COMPANYIA DE COMEDIANTS LA BALDUFA was created in Lleida in 1996.
The main aims of the company are, firstly, to offer shows of high artistic quality. Secondly, our
endeavour to create shows that are multidisciplinary using the utmost in theatrical resources.
Thirdly our wish to offer shows that are suitable for all audiences but mainly for children. Finally our
aim to create shows that are ideologically committed to the values of solidarity, tolerance and
respect.
The creative members of La Baldufa are Emiliano Pardo, Enric Blasi and Carles Pijuan.
