PLANTING SEEDS
The Eastern Shore Chamber
kicked-off the Annual
Membership Drive recently
with a BIG BANG. Chamber
member volunteers are combing
the business community for sixweeks to grow the Chamber’s
membership base. Volunteers
are competing to bring in at
least 75 new members. The
teams that bring in the most
members will win fabulous
grand prizes.
Watching Your Business Grow!
The strong selling points for
becoming a member are:
Marketing: The Chamber is
your partner in promoting your
business through telephone
referrals (the Chamber receives 150,000
calls each year), distributing members’
literature at both Chamber offices, listing
members in the Eastern Shore Magazine
(14,000 published) and online with a free
link to members’ Web sites (1.5 million hits
annually), listing new and renewing
members in the newsletter and
providing unique advertising opportunities
and sponsorships, sending member
brochures to those relocating to the area,
ground breakings and ribbon cuttings and,
one of the most popular member benefits
- the Morning Marketing Meeting where
members can “Toot Their Own Horn!”
Strengthen Businesses: Providing
options for employees and companies with
health insurance partnerships with Chamber

members, membership with the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce, detailed demographics and mailing labels or electronic
addresses of the membership.
Interaction With Elected Officials and
Community Leaders: We put our members in touch with the decision makers
through the Annual Legislative Agenda,
the Annual Lobbying Trip to Montgomery,
Leadership Trips, the Governmental Affairs
Task Force, State of Alabama Department
of Tourism, Business Council of Alabama,
Baldwin County Public Transit Coalition,
Envision Coastal Alabama, Economic
Development Alliance of Alabama, Bald-
win County Economic Development Alliance, cities of Daphne,
Fairhope and Spanish Fort, Alabama Tourism Council and much
more.
Connection with the Community:
The Chamber helps members connect with customers and colleagues
with year-round networking events
such as Business After Hours, Annual Golf Tournament, Chairman’s
Gala, Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast,
Volunteer opportunities, the Annual
Arts & Crafts Festival in Fairhope,
the Annual Jubilee Festival in
Daphne, STEP Career Exploration
Program for high school students,
Eastern Shore Youth Leadership
Program and CHOICES program
for middle school students and the regularly
scheduled Business Briefs.
Learning Opportunities: Members learn
the best practices for issues important to their
companies and the area through professional
development opportunities, SCORE
business counseling, leadership development
opportunities, seminars on topics pertinent to
businesses.
Has your business taken advantage of your
Chamber’s products and services to help with
your growth? Do you know of a business,
colleague or friend who would benefit from
becoming a member of the Chamber? We
are only a phone call away at 621-8222 or
928-6387. Visit us on our Web site at www.

Watching Your Business Grow!”.
