Selected because of its direct access to the beautiful lac
de Léon and its lovely sandy beach. A large family-run
site in the Landes forest which stretches along the banks
of the lake with pretty shrubs and flowering plants that
give it a very rural feel. It has a lively atmosphere with
plenty of organised entertainment suitable for all the
family. The attractive reception area full of flowers and
the huge carpark at the entrance create a relaxed
welcoming atmosphere. Not only is there a great cycle
track into the town, there is also a daily free bus service
in July and August to the beach 6km away. The owners
of the site are justifiably proud of their eco credentials
and have both Clef Verte and Ecolabel awards. As the
site is so long and thin, getting around by bike is highly
recommended.

Pitches
Flat, sandy, divided by trees and shrubs. A mixture of sunny
and shady pitches and generous enough for large outfits. The
pitches nearest the lake are probably the best. Prices for
pitches vary according to their proximity to the lake and
whether they are fully serviced or have their own toilet and
shower.

Motorhomes
Motorhome service point. Everything you need is on site. There
is a shuttle bus to the beach and Léon is cycling distance from
the site, with a cycle track either side of the main road.
Swimming Pools
Good aqua complex. The outdoor pool area is 200m² with
generous sun terrace and sun loungers. The covered pool is
heated,120m² and good for swimming. There is an excellent
children's pool with a variety of water games including baby
slides. There is a further waterslide complex for older ones in
an area near the lake open 11am - 12:45am and 3pm to 8pm.

Activities on Site
The lovely lake has a fabulous beach area and whole range of
equipment to hire including catamarans, wind surfers,
canoes/kayaks and pedalos. Fishing with permit. Two
refurbished tennis courts. Cycle hire. Archery. Children's play
areas throughout the site. New inflatable toys for 2yr olds and
above. Volleyball, basketball. Huge area of boules pistes. Table
tennis. Indoor games area with snooker tables, table football,
electronic games. Fitness centre. Super new spa area with
beauty salon. TV in bar. Mini-golf just outside the site.
Entertainment
A full programme of daytime and evening entertainment
including aquagym and sporting competitions, dance evenings,
cabarets, discos, live bands. Children's for 5 -6 yrs old, 7-9 yrs
old and 10-13 yrs old, plus a teen's club.
Sanitary Facilities
Four modern and attractive toilet blocks, one heated. Separate
men's and ladies. Toilets with toilet paper. Push button,
temperature control showers with hooks, shelf and rail.
Individual wash cubicles. In the second and third blocks
moving away from the reception there are some family rooms,
showers and washbasins together. The structure of the fourth
toilet block has been built entirely from wood. Good draining
boards for washing up. Baby rooms. Disabled facilities.

Restaurant at entrance to site with lovely view over the lake

Directions
From N10/A63 take exit 12 at Castets. From Castets take the
D42 towards St Girons Plage. Stay on the D42 to Linxe and
then turn left onto the D382 towards Vielle. As you enter the
village fork right onto the D562 and turn left onto the Route du
Lac after 400m. Continue along this road for 1.7km and the
site entrance is on your right.
Excursions / Places to Visit
Léon 4km. St Girons beach 6km. Huchet river that joins the
lake. Ecological museum at Marquese with access available by
historic steam train departing from Sabres 64km. Dax 35km.
The Dune du Pilat at Arcachon. Biarritz 80km. The Rhune rack
railway in Sare gives you access to the Rhune Mountain in 30
minutes.
