Wanderbus Wutachschlucht: the easy way to get there and back
The black Wanderbus line runs regularly on weekends
and holidays from Löffingen to Unadingen, stopping at all
the important entry points for the Wutachschlucht gorge,
a one-of-a-kind nature reserve area. The Wanderbus offers a
convenient alternative to travel by car.
The red Wanderbus line runs between the Wutachmühle
and Schattenmühle mills, stopping at Bonndorf, which is on
the 7258 line running to and from Titisee-Neustadt. The red
line makes it easy to get back to where you started or parked
your car.

The Schwarzwaldverein Black Forest club offers hiking tips
in the Drei-Schluchten-Halle hall in Bachheim every Sunday
from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in May, June, September and October.
For long-distance and day hikers
The Schluchtensteig is a 119 km hiking
trail that runs right through the southern
Black Forest natural preserve (Naturpark
Südschwarzwald), from Stühlingen to Wehr,
through the Wutachschlucht gorge, along the shore of the
Schluchsee lake, and through the Wehratal valley. The Wanderbus Schluchtensteig bus line will take you there.
Tips
Arriving by train or bus:
Trains run to Löffingen and Döggingen every hour from
Freiburg and Donaueschingen.
West to East: Connections run from the Löffingen train
station to the gorge entry points several times a day.
Hike through the gorge to the Wutachmühle mill, then
take the Wanderbus back to the Schattenmühle mill
and from there back to Löffingen station. If you are an
experienced hiker, you can take the trail through the
Gauchachschlucht gorge to the Döggingen train station.
East to West: From the Döggingen train station, hike
through the Gauchachschlucht and Wutachschlucht
gorges to Bachheim, Reiselfingen or the Schattenmühle
mill, where you can catch the Wanderbus to the Löffingen train station.
Arriving by car:
Park your car at the Wutachmühle car park and take the
Wanderbus to Boll or the Schattenmühle mill. You will
have plenty of time to hike back to your car. You can
also hike in the opposite direction, leaving your car at
the Schattenmühle car park.
Or park at the Drei-Schluchten-Halle hall in Bachheim,
hike to the Schattenmühle mill and then take the bus
back to your car.

Each Wanderbus-Ticket is valid for a whole day on the
Wanderbus Wutachschlucht bus line. You can purchase
tickets from the driver.
