Residents’ registration starts at 10:00 am with non-residents’ registration following at approximately 10:30 am. Full payment is required for day trips and checks are preferred. Two ticket limit per person per trip until end of registration. Please make all checks payable to the City of Madison Heights. You may register for extended trips at any time with deposit. There is a minimum of 15-20 people per day trip. If you mail in or leave a check with the front desk for a trip, you must also supply a self-addressed stamped envelope for your ticket stub(s), your phone number and entree choice and/or age/birthdate (if applicable) or we will not register you. Address labels for your tickets are very helpful too! If you need to cancel a trip or event after you have signed up, we will do everything we can to refund the cost (minus a $3.00 cancellation fee) by either selling the ticket to someone else or by cancelling your reservation if possible. However, if payment has already been issued, we may not be able to obtain a refund. If a refund is possible, it will be sent through the City Treasurer’s office and may take up to three weeks to be processed. Fitness Equipment purchase– Thank you to Elizabeth Scott & her daughter Catherine for their $2100 donation towards the purchase of a new Nustep and treadmill. Apple Pie Fundraiser– Thank you to everyone who helped with our apple pie fundraiser! It was good to have the tradition back at the center. Nine bushels of apples were peeled by hardworking volunteers while others put the pies together for baking. We made 160 pies and sold them all to apple lovers everywhere! They were delicious! $1091.37 will go into the escrow account. Needed: Tax Aide Volunteers The Tax-Aide Program is a volunteer program between the AARP Foundation and the IRS, in partnership with community senior centers. Tax-Aide volunteers are needed now for Madison Heights Friday, November 8, 2013 Senior Center to provide free tax preparation services to low and Friday, December 13, 2013 moderate income seniors. Receive free training in tax law and form 9 am - 3 pm preparation, and computer IRS tax software classes on Friday for Massage Therapist- Heidi Gogate Heidi will be at the Center doing massages on one Friday each month four weeks. Taxes will be prepared each Tuesday at Madison from 9 am until 3 pm. The massages will be 30 minutes long and cost Heights Senior Center February 4 thru April 15, 2014.
