LOUIE MUNLEY’S SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Louie Munley is getting a
variety of experiences
working for the Events
Department at the Town
of Davie. Professor Olson visited him on Camp
Day at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. There
were 4,000 campers in
attendance and they were
entertained with bull riding, calf roping and team
competitions. Louie has
helped promote and
worked at the Concerts on
the Corner and Take Kids
Fishing events. He visits
parks in Davie and delivers flyers to the area
schools. Currently he is
helping prepare for the
big 4th of July Celebration at Pine Island
Park. The event is a
Family Fun Day and
starts at 1:00 pm and
concludes after the
Fireworks at 9:00 pm.
If you don’t have plans
for the 4th of July,
check it out! Say
“hello” to Louie and
enjoy contests, live
music all day as well
cuisine from various
food trucks.

This 5 mile and 5K Run/Walk through Deerfield Beach starts and ends on Deerfield Beach. This run has
earned its reputation as the race that signifies the start of the running season and is fun for everyone regardless
of ability. All entrants receive a t-shirt and goodie bag. Any individual who raise $100 or more will be eligible for prizes! Awards given in the 5 M and 5K run to top Male and Female overall, Masters Male & Female
overall, Three Deep in Age Groups and Wheelchair Male & Female overall. There will be a variety of food
and refreshments for all participants following the race with over 1,500 participants. Breakfast is provided by
Panera Bread. Sponsorships are from $250.

BGCBC Bass Fresh Water Fishing Tournament
January 31 & February 1, 2014
A 2 day bass fishing tournament hosted by Former Dolphin player and Current WQAM Channing Crowder.
Day 1 will be a FLW Fishing Tournament with FLW Pro Anglers and Local Anglers. Each Boat will host consist of a Pro, Celebrity and sponsor. After the tournament, join us for the award ceremony dinner which will
include a silent and live auction. Day 2 will be a Day of Fishing for the members of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
