Stephen has held a number of top level roles in the commercial property world during his successful career, most recently as Managing Director of Hines UK (2006 - 2010). Prior to this he was Chief Executive of Grosvenor, UK & Ireland (1995 - 2006); Joint Managing Director of Randsworth / London Capital Holdings PLC (1987 - 1994); and at Stockley PLC (1984 - 1987). Since the autumn of 2010 Stephen has been working with a number of companies and organisations including NativeLand, The Royal Academy and The Prince’s Regeneration Trust. Jack Sidders, Estates Gazette Jack joined leading commercial property magazine Estates Gazette in 2012 as a Senior Reporter covering the City of London market. He has since held various roles at EG including as City Editor and Finance Editor before being appointed as News Editor in the summer of 2014. Jack’s work has won several awards including the 2014 Business and Finance Journalist of the Year and Multimedia Journalist of the Year categories at the International Building Press Awards. Jack began his career in journalism in Shanghai, China, where he worked for a monthly lifestyle magazine before joining the Gulf Daily News in Bahrain as a reporter. His career in UK trade journalism has included stints covering a broad range of topics from Horticulture to Construction. 3 Steven Norris, Political and Property Commentator Steve was a Conservative MP for Oxford East and then Epping Forest from 1983 to 1997. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Departments of Environment, Trade & Industry and the Home Office and in 1992 was appointed Minister for Transport with a special responsibility for all London transport. After retiring from Parliament he was twice his party’s candidate for Mayor of London outperforming the national party substantially on both occasions. He is a former Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party. Steve has combined a career in politics with a business career in the fields of property, infrastructure and transportation. He is currently Chairman of BNP Paribas Real Estate UK and of Soho Estates. He is also Chairman of Virtus Data Centres. He is a Non-Executive Director of Excel the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company conference centre in East London. He has been a member of the Boards of both Transport for London and the London Development Agency and recently served on the Treasury’s Growth Task Force for HS2. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Kim Winser OBE, Entrepreneur Kim Winser is recognised as one of the UK’s most internationally renowned and inspirational business women. She was appointed as Marks & Spencer’s first female Divisional Board Director. This followed her successful and substantial development of the women’s division, growing market share from 11% to 18% during the 1990s. Kim went on to successfully deliver turnarounds as CEO for the iconic British heritage brands Pringle of Scotland (2000-2006) and Aquascutum (2006-2009). Kim has also held roles at The Robertson Trust, Agent Provocateur, Net-a-Porter and The Natural History Museum. In 2013 she launched her own business using a new digital business model providing direct supply via e-commerce, with limited pop-up shops. Luxury quality with a styling service, at affordable prices. Kim supports various charities including working with HRH Prince Charles with The Prince’s Trust, The Good Work Commission for the government, Central Saint Martin’s and Heriot-Watt University. Kim was awarded a Doctorate by Heriot-Watt University in 2002 for her work in the British textile industry and an OBE for her services to the British fashion industry in 2006. 4 John Ayton MBE, Entrepreneur John is an established player in the world of luxury goods, having founded Links of London with his wife, jewellery designer Annoushka Ducas MBE, in 1990 and built it to sales of over £50 million before selling the Company to Follie Folli SA in late 2006. The following year John backed the English brothers as the seed investor in Bremont Watch Company where he remains the Chairman. Only last month Bremont was named Official Timing Partner of the Americas Cup and Team Oracle. In 2009 John and his wife founded Annoushka the fine jewellery brand. John is a significant shareholder and board advisor to Shoreditch Grind, Orlebar Brown and Mr Hare. He chairs the Cass Sculpture Foundation which commissions new work from emerging and established artists. He founded, and until last year, chaired Walpole Brands of Tomorrow which mentors young British luxury brands. He lives in West Sussex with his wife and four children. Mark Garnier, MP and Member of the Treasury Select Committee Mark was elected to Parliament for Wyre Forest in May 2010 and is a member of the Treasury Select Committee and sat on the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards. He is actively involved in several All Party Parliamentary Groups including being the Chairman of the APPG for Heritage Rail, the newly formed APPG for the Carpet Industry and the APPG for the Economy of the West Midlands. Mark’s experience before politics was in finance and business. He built a career in the City of London, specialising in emerging global markets, before leaving the investment banking world in set up his own businesses in investment management. More recently, Mark has worked as a business consultant, helping SMEs with strategic planning. Outside politics, Mark is a governor of Kidderminster College – a role he has held since 2005 – as well as sitting on the Court of the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers of London (a City Livery company whose primary function is the pursuit of excellence in the automotive and aviation industries through charitable bursaries). 5 Hamish McRae, Journalist & Economic Commentator Hamish McRae is one of Europe's foremost speakers on global future trends in economics, business and society. He is Associate Editor of The Independent Newspaper in London and Principal Economic Commentator for The Independent and The Independent on Sunday and a columnist for the London Evening Standard. He is the author of the acclaimed work on the future, The World in 2020: Power, Culture and Prosperity. Following its publication he became a sought-after speaker on trends in the economy, technology and business. As a speaker, Hamish is in demand around the world for his lucid insights into the forces such as technology, demography, globalisation, natural resources, and government policies that shape the economy and influence business strategy. He is an Adjunct Professor at Trinity College, Dublin, and a Governor of the National Institute for Economic and Social Research. As an economic journalist, Hamish McRae was editor of Euromoney and financial editor of The Guardian before moving to The Independent. Amongst his awards is the Business and Finance Journalist of the Year in 2006. James Thornton, CEO Mayfair Capital James co-founded Mayfair Capital in 2002 and became Chief Executive in April 2014. He is Fund Director for Mayfair Capital’s flagship Fund the ‘Property Income Trust for Charities’, and for two other Mayfair Capital Funds. James has over 30 years’ experience in UK commercial property. He spent the first 15 years of his career at Jones Lang Wootton, 11 of which were in its investment management division, JLW Fund Management. In 1996 James joined Savills where he was appointed Director of Fund Management. James is FCA authorised and is a member of the RICS and the Investment Property Forum. He is a Committee Member of the Charity Investors’ Group which is committed to education for charity trustees and their advisers. James was also elected to the Holders Advisory Committee of WELPUT in October 2014. 6 Frances Ketteringham, Director Mayfair Capital Frances joined Mayfair Capital as Head of Research and Investment Strategy in September 2013. Her main area of responsibility is using economic and property market trend analysis to help shape the investment strategies for each of the Funds managed by Mayfair Capital. She is a member of the investment committee. Frances has worked in commercial property for nine years, beginning her career at EGi. More recently, Frances spent six years working in the EMEA research team at Jones Lang LaSalle, initially as an analyst in the offices team and subsequently as an Associate Director, specialising in capital markets research. Frances completed her degree at the University of Warwick and holds her Investment Management Certificate (IMC). Juliette Morgan, Head of Property at Tech City UK, (Cushman & Wakefield) Juliette is a Partner within the Cushman & Wakefield's London Markets team and Head of Property at Tech City. Juliette led the Cushman & Wakefield strategic partnership with Spire Ventures to found Europe's first property tech accelerator, targeting the growth of property tech start-ups. She is also on the leadership group for Cushman and Wakefield’s global tech group. Juliette is an urban tech specialist with more than 12 years international experience in developing and managing property for tech and bio tech companies. Juliette has worked on millions of square feet under development and management in tech centres in the US and UK and advises investors, developers, occupiers and the government on property strategy. Philip Ross, Futurist & CEO Cordless Group Philip is also founder and CEO of UnGroup. He is a speaker, author and advisor on the future of work. With a focus on people and behaviours, he specialises in predicting the impact of emerging technology on the way we work, shop, consume leisure and live. Philip has spoken at conferences around the world including the Wall Street Journal Europe CEO Forum. In 1994 Philip founded his business and wrote and published The Cordless Office Report. He has written a number of books on the future of work and regularly gives keynote presentations and runs thinktanks and workshops for organisations in the process of change. Philip focuses on the collision between emerging technology and real estate, predicting how it will change patterns of behaviour and how we work, shop and consume leisure. Simon Martindale, Fund Manager Mayfair Capital Simon joined Mayfair Capital in January 2012 to work closely with James Thornton primarily on the Property Income Trust for Charities, but also MC Property Growth Fund No.2 and Mayfair Capital Residential 1. His role includes the sourcing and analysis of new acquisitions, investor reporting, fund analysis and the marketing of the individual funds. Simon has over 10 years commercial and residential property experience and prior to Mayfair Capital worked at DTZ and Edward Symmons. Simon was elected a Member of the RICS in 2007 and prior to this completed his studies at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and London South Bank University. Simon is FCA authorised as CF 30.
