On April 3, 2012, residents have the opportunity to cast their ballots on one referendum question to address critical capital facility needs,
primarily at Riverside Middle School and Watertown High School. If approved by voters, the total project cost cannot exceed $6,200,000.
Who can vote?
Any eligible adult who resides within the Watertown Unified School District borders can vote on this referendum as part of the April 3rd
ballot. Our District includes the city of Watertown and 10 municipalities. General guidelines for voter eligibility include those who:
Are at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to vote
Are legal residents of the State of Wisconsin
Legally reside within the School District – You are not required to own property to vote on this referendum
Where do I vote?
Wisconsin is implementing changes to some voting districts in 2012.To make sure you arrive at the right place, prepared with the information you
need, visit the Wisconsin’s Government Accountability Board (GAB) website at http://gab.wi.gov/elections-voting. You can get additional information
about voter registration and voting by absentee ballot on the GAB website, or by contacting the city clerk at 920-262-4000 for specific voting details.
Watertown Unified School District Critical Capital Needs
If the referendum is approved, taxpayers will see an estimated $4 DECREASE
in the debt service portion of their taxes for every $100,000 of property value.
