“While this letter has been almost two years in the making, the delay was
fortuitous since I am now able to write you as the recipient of the AY10 Marine
Corps University Elihu Rose Award. As I mentioned to you at the award
ceremony, the Marine Corps University Foundation (MCUF) shares greatly in
this award. MCUF enabled the Marine Corps War College, and me, to provide
and unparallel educational experience to our students.
MCUF donations and associations made it possible for the College to
capitalize on a myriad of otherwise unattainable educational opportunities.
The Foundation enabled us to integrate distinguished speakers throughout the
curriculum.
MCUF significantly advanced my professional education and career in ways for
which I will be forever indebted. I always respond by praising the Foundation’s
unwavering and unmatched support to the students and faculty of the Marine
