A LIVING LEGACY
Shelton, Show Director
Few people know The Texas International Hair
and Trade Show (TIHTS) was founded by Vince
Shelton as his way of finding a more efficient
way for his wife, Kim, to spend less time in the
beauty salon so that she could have more time
with family.
Vince first started a website for ladies to access
online to find a stylist, view their work, and make
an appointment. The website was called
D’Styles.com. With a staff of 5-6 people, they
canvased the city of Dallas to sign up
stylists. Later, D’Styles.com grew to include
barbers as well.
Vince leveraged his 10+ years in Sales to begin offering products to the salons that
he personally delivered. This launched into a full-time venture as he became an
independent distributor to salons around the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan
area. As he expanded his presence in the industry, he combined his success as a
well-known event planner and entertainment broker with his desire to help others,
and in partnership with another local distributor the Texas International Hair and
Trade Show (TIHTS) was created.
In 2013 Vince’s wife and number one supporter over the years, Kim Shelton,
officially joined the staff to quickly learn the business. She has become an integral
part in the production of the show, as well as a beloved figure herself in the hair
industry. Accompanied by a host of family members, Kim has assumed many roles
that Vince once personally managed himself.
From the start, the emphasis was to introduce and showcase the most cutting-edge
model for providing educational and empowerment opportunities for independent
stylists and barbers. The result has been the successful launch of new platform
artists, show MCs, magazine editors, and industry educators. Several cities in the
North Texas area have hosted the TIHTS, including Dallas, Mesquite, Marshall, and
now Arlington for the 2016 show. As the show celebrates its 16th anniversary since
its inception, the same passion and energy that birthed the show still burns to make
it bigger and better each year. Thank each of you for your generous and loyal
support!
The largest multicultural hair, beauty, cosmetic (HBC) exposition in
the South Central United States featuring cutting edge educators,
motivational speakers, and fashion icons like no other show in the
area.
TIHTS offers the
direct sales opportunity for
distributors, professionals and educations to market their products
to thousands of conscious industry specific consumers in one
centralized location in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
Education Classes
Educators demonstrate their techniques and five a peek into their
careers and how to increase revenue. Topics include: coloring, cutting,
