SEP ARMOURED PERSONNEL CARRIER
Flexibility
SEP’s innovative and advanced
design is based on the principles of
commonality, flexibility and upgradeability.
This allows a wide range of functions and roles on
a uniform basic platform providing real customer benefits in cost savings in training and maintaining the system.
– SEP gives the same capability with fewer vehicles.
– SEP gives increased capability with the same number of
vehicles.
– SEP’s module system permits conversion from one vehicle to
another in theatre.
SEP can replace armoured vehicles such as command and
control, personnel carriers, all-terrain logistic vehicles, sensor
platforms, repair and recovery vehicles, ambulances and light
combat vehicles. The common platform for all SEP vehicles also
provides great advantages with regard to repairs, service and
maintenance, meaning a lower life cycle cost.
– SEP’s module system creates completely new prerequisites for
sound finances combined with increased effectiveness.
Survivability
Safety considerations take a leap into the future with SEP. The
survivability is superior compared to all existing alternatives.
SEP offers a very high level of protection, including superior
mine protection, as standard. The modular armoured protection
can easily be upgraded. The SEP features advanced stealth
technology suppressing all wavelengths, including a battery
power option which enables the vehicle to run in silent mode.
The relocation of the engine into the sponsons creates a unique
crew space and enables the high level of armour protection.

Dependability is
also increased with the
presence of two separate drive
systems, as the vehicle can be driven
with just one functioning drive system.
Mobility
A modern combat vehicle must offer excellent strategic and
tactical mobility. Hägglunds SEP takes the concept of mobility
into the future. It is deployable all over the world thanks to air
transportation in, for example, C-130 planes. On the ground it
moves with great speed and can handle all kinds of climates and
terrain. This means ice-cold temperatures and deep snow as well
as steaming jungles or desert heat and sand. The pivot turn for both
wheeled and tracked variants with a turning diameter of seven
meters and narrow turn radius gives huge advantage in mobility.
In short, when it comes to mobility, SEP is in a class of its own.
Habitability
The crew and the troops inside a SEP are given a unique experience,

with ample space
and excellent protection in combination. Thanks to the design, with the engines placed in the
sponsons, there is easy to use space. This can be used to incorporate
more personnel and it also allows for the many different functions of
the vehicle. In international missions the conditions for the personnel
are of high priority. This will be so to an even greater extent in the
future. The Hägglunds SEP is designed with the user in focus. Like a
modern car it is small on the outside but big on the inside.
