How do I Open an Account Online
with Qtrade Investor?
You can open an account online by clicking on the Qtrade Investor logo at
www.cdspi.com/qtrade and then selecting “Apply Now”. The online application
is user-friendly and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
When applying for an account you will be asked to:
•Choose the type of account;
•Complete the Applicant Information (required by the Investment Industry
Regulatory Organization of Canada);
•Print the forms, and sign in the appropriate areas;
•Mail all documentation to Qtrade Investor including the following:
•Completed and signed original Account Application Form;
•A photocopy of a picture ID (driver’s license or passport) for each
applicant; and
•A personal cheque drawn on each applicant for the minimum deposit
($1,000 for a cash or registered account or $2,000 for margin) or if initial
deposit is by way of a transfer, a personal cheque for $10; and
In addition, Qtrade Investor provides its customers with a wide variety of tools
and resources including leading-edge research, quotes, real-time account
updates, advanced charting, portfolio watchlists and e-mail alerts to name a
few. You can easily transfer funds electronically from your chequing account at
your bank or credit union through an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or through
your online bill payment system.

What Happens After I Send in the
Application?
You are eligible to participate in the Qtrade Investor Online Brokerage Service
if you are a member of the CDA or a participating provincial or territorial dental
association (in Quebec, only CDA members are eligible) or if you work for a
dentist who is a member of one of those associations. Your immediate family
members can also participate. Staff members of the CDA, all provincial dental
associations and other specified dental organizations can participate as well.

Accounts are opened within 24 hours of Qtrade Investor receiving the
completed original signed application for cash and registered accounts and
48 hours for margin accounts. When the account is opened, you will be
contacted and provided with your new account number and trading password.
