Concentrating exclusively on the needs of the corrugated container industry, enables us to sharply focus all of our technical and manufacturing resources on this vital market segment. This singular focus drives our development process. The common goal to satisfy customers needs resulted in various innovative products such as the Equalizer® / Equamount™ / Crushless® Wheels, Anvilok III® and the New Dura Blue™ Covers. Dicar® systems for improving production We offer multiple mounting versions and produce over 400 different sizes. DICAR® covers are the quality standard. We carefully cast urethane onto a steel backing which gives each cover an exact fit on the anvil cylinder. All designs of DICAR® covers are engineered so that the locking mechanism does not introduce any flat spots, thereby invisible to the cutting die. The standard blue quality is the best for cutting and creasing in most instances. The grey shark skin is designed for easier trimming. It requires however more cutting pressure and gives less creasing quality. Benefits: Cover details: ● High-grade urethane for long life ● Blue (Standard) 86 - 89 Shore A ● High-grade urethane for better creasing performance ● No low spots at locking area ● Grey (Shark skin) 90 - 94 Shore A ● Steel backing for exact fit during production index ® In Europe & Middle East Tel : +31 512 582 682 ■ Fax : +31 512 582 688 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.K. & Ireland Tel : +44 150 760 8880 ■ Fax: +44 150 760 8593 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.S. and Canada Tel: +800 323 4227 ■ Fax: +973 575-1455 ■ E-mail: [email protected] 5 ® Rotary diecutting covers New Dicar® anvil CHARACTERISTIC With its innovative dovetail lock-up and extended life urethane formula, DuraBlue™ makes it quick and easy to keep on running ...Our DuraBlue™ * Properties: Mounting (1) ● Boltless mounting ● Self aligning edges ● Durable lock stands up longer ● Textured surface for longer life time Mounting (2) ● Less tension for easy installation ● Quick removal for more frequent rotations Removing * please check availability on machine size index ® In Europe & Middle East Tel : +31 512 582 682 ■ Fax : +31 512 582 688 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.K. & Ireland Tel : +44 150 760 8880 ■ Fax: +44 150 760 8593 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.S. and Canada Tel: +800 323 4227 ■ Fax: +973 575-1455 ■ E-mail: [email protected] 6 ® Dicar Equamount™ With the new Equamount™ from Dicar® you can rotate your covers within 5 minutes and you still have all the benefits of the Equalizer®. CHARACTERISTIC Additional benefits: Rotating anvil covers substantially extends the life of the cover and the accuracy of the die cut. In fact, the only reason anyone ever had for not rotating covers was how long it took. ● Makes trimming unnecessary Dicar has just changed that. Their new Equalizer® design makes cover rotation simple, logical and fast. Just remove a section from one end, easily slide over the others and add the removed section back at the opposite end. Once in place, the sections automatically interlock for flawless Equalizer performance. ● Longer cover lifetime ● Higher dimension control ● Fast & easy cover rotation With the new Equalizer “Equamount”™ cover rotation is simple and typically completed in less than 5 minutes. The Equamount™ is available for most new and existing rotary die cutters. Installations of the original Equalizer® can also be updated and modernized to this new system in your plant. index ® In Europe & Middle East Tel : +31 512 582 682 ■ Fax : +31 512 582 688 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.K. & Ireland Tel : +44 150 760 8880 ■ Fax: +44 150 760 8593 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.S. and Canada Tel: +800 323 4227 ■ Fax: +973 575-1455 ■ E-mail: [email protected] 7 ® Dicar Equalizer ® CHARACTERISTIC EQUALIZER benefits: The Dicar Equalizer® Rotary Die Cut System is designed to improve rotary die cutting accuracy without the need for operator involvement. The Equalizer system comprises a new chromeplated anvil cylinder, a specially formulated indexing bearing sleeve and Dicar’s newlydesigned and patented Equalok™ series of boltless anvil covers. The new Equalok boltless cover design significantly reduces installation and rotation time by eliminating the need for cover mounting bolts. ● Improved die cutting accuracy Once the Equalizer® system is in place, the die cutter is operated in its normal manner. After the normal order setup is made and the machine is running, the anvil cylinder, bearing and covers are traveling at normal machine speed. As the die penetrates through the board and into the urethane covers, the indexing bearing is driven at the same speed as the die. This allows the cover surface speed to be controlled by the surface speed of the cutting die. ● Operates on the patented Dicar® bearing concept, with one bearing sleeve ● Stable dimensional accuracy when running multi-up dies ● Die cylinder, anvil covers and corrugated board all run at the same speed ● Reduces cover wear by limiting the force between die and cover ● The EQUALOK™ BOLTLESS COVER significantly reduces cover installation and rotation time by eliminating the need for mounting bolts. index ® In Europe & Middle East Tel : +31 512 582 682 ■ Fax : +31 512 582 688 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.K. & Ireland Tel : +44 150 760 8880 ■ Fax: +44 150 760 8593 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.S. and Canada Tel: +800 323 4227 ■ Fax: +973 575-1455 ■ E-mail: [email protected] 8 ® Glue lap cutting systems CHARACTERISTIC Our soft anvil gluelap cutting system uses the same guaranteed freewheeling Anvilok III® anvil as our slotterdie systems. Depending on the type of machine the extension of our supply of cover and slip ring includes in some cases replacement of metal parts or drawings to convert existing heads locally. For this you can use the Questionnaire for slotterdie. In a relatively simple and economical manner, the production possibilities of your current Printer-Slotter can be drastically enlarged. The Slotterdie system is comprised of 2 segments, namely: A The cutting segment which is mounted between the slotting heads on the upper slotter shaft B The anvil segment that is mounted on the bottom slotter shaft. On the cutting segment you can where desired, mount a die in order to for example, cut hand- or ventholes. Perhaps you may wish to expand the production possibilities of your current Printer / Slotter. With this in mind, Dicar has enclosed a questionnaire, which you can complete. We will then provide you with a suitable offer. The anvil segment is comprised of 3 parts, namely: ● Wear-resistant polyurethane cover with steel backing ● The Dicar® bearing, which prevents diecutting on the same place and simultaneously ensures less abrasion of the cover ● Anvil body. This steel backing ensures that during production the polyurethane does not expand and thus no undesirable tensities take place between the bearing and the cover. The standard widths of the Slotterdie systems are 75 - 102 - 127 and 152 mm. In placing several more cutting segments next to each other it is even possible to for example, punch the well-known Swedish lock bottom. FEFCO No. 0215. 1. The blade will wear in a straight line and maintain print quality CHARACTERISTIC Plastic (UHMW) scraper blades have been designed for today’s flexographics. The blade is positioned with the bevel of the blade facing the ink supply. These blades come in varying thickness and width’s depending on the use. They are supplied on rolls of 30 meter – 100 ft. ● UHMW Blades run cooler, water based ink will not dry up in the cells and cause striations or low density problems ● Steel blades can “melt” into the cells, causing rings and striations. UHMW blades will not do this. They are a must on ceramic rolls. Specifications Remark Material UHMW 45° Bevel (30° alt.) 2 mm – 0,080” thick (default) Other thicknesses available Standard recommended, with 45° bevel. This blade will seat and start metering streak free quickly. For Anilox rolls up to 130 lines/cm. Material UHMW Stepped blade Sizes: 1,5 / 0,75 mm tip (0.060”/0.030” tip) 2,0 / 1,0 mm tip (0.080”/0.040” tip) The “Stepped” edge is best where a thin tip is needed to help shear inks and an increased thickness (rigidity) is needed to match clamp bar without the need of a shim. The increased rigidity comes from its design where the clamping portion can be thicker than the metering tip. Material UHMW Stepped blade Sizes: 1.5 / 1,0 mm tip (0.060”/0.040” tip) The “Stepped” edge is also best for special use as Containment blade. index ® In Europe & Middle East Tel : +31 512 582 682 ■ Fax : +31 512 582 688 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.K. & Ireland Tel : +44 150 760 8880 ■ Fax: +44 150 760 8593 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.S. and Canada Tel: +800 323 4227 ■ Fax: +973 575-1455 ■ E-mail: [email protected] 21 ® Printing die supplies, mounting material Industrial Polyester Film (Opaque) Part number Thickness Width Weight Sold per 2 rolls 5172.1070.2250 0.250 mm 700 mm 2.8 m²/kg 318 kg 5172.1070.5250 0.250 mm 700 mm 2.8 m²/kg 50 kg 5172.1100.2250 0.250 mm 1000 mm 2.8 m²/kg 454 kg 5172.1100.5250 0.250 mm 1000 mm 2.8 m²/kg 70 kg 5172.1140.2250 0.250 mm 1400 mm 2.8 m²/kg 636 kg 5172.1140.5250 0.250 mm 1400 mm 2.8 m²/kg 100 kg Mylar® A characteristics: 5172.1070.3350 0.350 mm 700 mm 2.0 m²/kg 318 kg 5172.1070.5350 0.350 mm 700 mm 2.0 m²/kg 70 kg ● Exceptional tear resistant 5172.1108.3350 0.350 mm 1080 mm 2.0 m²/kg 490 kg ● Excellent thermal and dimensional stability 5172.1108.5350 0.350 mm 1080 mm 2.0 m²/kg 108 kg 5172.1140.3350 0.350 mm 1400 mm 2.0 m²/kg 636 kg 5172.1140.5350 0.350 mm 1400 mm 2.0 m²/kg 140 kg ● Light ● Waterproof ● Chemical resistant Technical details: Area yield * other sizes available m² / kg Thickness in microns 75 100 125 190 250 350 500 9.5 7.1 5.7 3.7 2.8 2.0 1.43 75 100 125 190 250 350 500 19 19 19 19 19 19 15 (MD) 23 23 22 22 20 19 17 (TD) 75 100 125 190 250 350 500 ● Durable and long lasting 140 150 150 190 210 240 270 (MD) 100 100 110 140 170 200 240 (TD) ● Ultra smooth flat surface with superb thickness tolerance Modulus 75 100 125 190 250 350 500 355 345 330 330 310 295 260 (MD) 400 390 370 370 350 320 280 (TD) ● Excellent thermal and electrical insulation properties Density ASTM D1505 g/cc Haze ASTM D1003-52 (Gardner-Hazemeter) % 1.40 75 100 125 190 250 350 500 36 39 43 82 90 96 97 ● High dielectric strength Dielectric strength (minimum) ASTM D149 kV 75 100 125 190 250 350 500 10 11.7 13.5 17.5 19 20 20 Upper melt temperature ASTM E794-85 ● Heat resistant ● Excellent layflat properties and resistance to curl Tensile strength at break Elongation at break ● Superior durability to other plastic materials ● Easy to handle ASTM D882-80 As above As above Coefficient of thermal expansion between 20 and 50 ˚C Shrinkage (all thicknesses) 30 minutes at 105 ˚C 150 ˚C 200 ˚C Kgf/mm² % Kgf/mm² ˚C 255 to 260 cm/cm/˚C 19 x 10-6 (MD) 16 x 10-6 (TD) % 0.5 (MD and TD) 1.3 (MD and TD) 3.4 (MD and TD) index ® In Europe & Middle East Tel : +31 512 582 682 ■ Fax : +31 512 582 688 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.K. & Ireland Tel : +44 150 760 8880 ■ Fax: +44 150 760 8593 ■ E-mail : [email protected] In the U.S. and Canada Tel: +800 323 4227 ■ Fax: +973 575-1455 ■ E-mail: [email protected] 22 ® Mounting profiles CHARACTERISTIC Mounting strip for printing dies, with improved profile. Structurer of PP-liner prevents the formation of airbubbles when plate mounting. ● Plates are easily repositioned during mounting as the full adhesion of the tape only becomes effective during the print run. ● The high adhesion and good shear resistance of these tapes ensure that there is no plate movement or edge lift problems, even at high speeds on extended print runs. ● No adhesive residue on print plate or the cylinder after demounting.
