Spiritual - from the Latin 'spiritus' meaning 'breath of life'. Healing - regaining balance of mind, body and/or emotions.
Greetings
Another Christmas and New Year goes by in a
blink and here we are again with the latest
issue for you, packed with a great assortment
of reading, something for everyone...
Interesting research reveals that words and frequencies can reprogramme
DNA, page 6; no doubt something that many of us already firmly believe, but
it’s good to see it in black and white! Maggie Haworth, one of our newest full
members, shares her discovery of Emotional Therapy, page 8; and we have an
interview with Norah Ramsey, also a newly qualified full member, on her
recent trip to Sarajevo. These two ladies prove that you don’t have to be
‘old school’to get published !
To all our budding photographers... we still want your favourite photographs
for our 2013 Calendar (page 22), and on the subject of beautiful images, we
know there are many talented artists amongst you - would you like to see your
work within the pages of InTouch? See page 22.
What are you doing on June 23rd? Do you love animals? Then you’ll need to
reserve that day in your diary - we are very excited to be offering an Animal
Healing workshop with Elizabeth Whiter, full details on page 27.
As usual, we need your help... The Healing Trust must keep growing and to
achieve this, we need to step up our efforts to spread the word to the general
public about what we do, whilst seeking out and training new healers,
ongoing. In an ideal world, national advertising would be a great help, but the
cost is prohibitive, so we hope you will help... please see page 16 to find out
how you can join in and make a difference.
A small but significant Did You Know... on average our Find A Healer website
page receives 18 visitors every day. That’s 6570 people every year looking for a
local healer, which could be you... so make sure you tick the‘Referral Register’
box on your Membership Renewal Form when you fill it in!
And finally, it’s winter - if you get a spate of the winter blues, gaze upon the
breathtakingly beautiful orchids on the opposite page, they’ll brighten up
even the dullest day!
With warmest wishes
Veronica Burnett

Thank you very much to you and your

Scientists Prove DNA Can Be Reprogrammed
“...Russian linguists found that the genetic code,
especially in the apparently useless 90%, follows the
same rules as all our human languages”
The human DNA is a biological internet and
superior in many aspects to the artificial
one. Russian scientific research directly or
indirectly explains phenomena such as
clairvoyance, intuition, spontaneous and
remote acts of healing, self healing,
affirmation techniques, unusual light/auras
around people (namely spiritual masters),
mind’s influence on weather patterns and
much more. In addition, there is evidence for
a whole new type of medicine in which DNA
can be influenced and reprogrammed by
words and frequencies without cutting out
and replacing single genes.
Only 10% of our DNA is being used for building
proteins. It is this subset of DNA that is of interest to
western researchers and is being examined and
categorized. The other 90% are considered “junk
DNA.” The Russian researchers, however, convinced
that nature was not dumb, joined linguists and
geneticists in a venture to explore those 90% of “junk
DNA.” Their results, findings and conclusions are
simply revolutionary! According to them, our DNA is
not only responsible for the construction of our body
but also serves as data storage and in
communication. The Russian linguists found that the
genetic code, especially in the apparently useless
90%, follows the same rules as all our human
languages. To this end they compared the rules of
syntax (the way in which words are put together to
form phrases and sentences), semantics (the study of
meaning in language forms) and the basic rules of
grammar. They found that the alkalines of our DNA
follow a regular grammar and do have set rules just
like our languages. So human languages did not
appear coincidentally but are a reflection of our
inherent DNA.
The Russian biophysicist and molecular biologist Pjotr
Garjajev and his colleagues also explored the
vibrational behavior of the DNA. [For the sake of
brevity I will give only a summary here. For further
exploration please refer to the appendix at the end of
this article.] The bottom line was: “Living
chromosomes function just like solitonic/holographic
computers using the endogenous DNA laser
radiation.” This means that they managed for
example to modulate certain frequency patterns onto
6

a laser ray and with it influenced the DNA frequency
and thus the genetic information itself. Since the
basic structure of DNA-alkaline pairs and of language
(as explained earlier) are of the same structure, no
DNA decoding is necessary.
One can simply use words and sentences of the
human language! This, too, was experimentally
proven! Living DNA substance (in living tissue, not in
vitro) will always react to language-modulated laser
rays and even to radio waves, if the proper
frequencies are being used.
The individual person must work on the inner
processes and maturity in order to establish a
conscious communication with the DNA. The Russian
researchers work on a method that is not dependent
on these factors but will ALWAYS work, provided one
uses the correct frequency.
But the higher developed an individual’s
consciousness is, the less need is there for any type of
device! One can achieve these results by oneself, and
science will finally stop laughing at such ideas and
will confirm and explain the results. And it doesn’t
end there. The Russian scientists also discovered that

frequencies are also produced in our brains, and
when many people synchronize their thinking or
individuals (spiritual masters, for instance) focus
their thoughts in a laser-like fashion, then it is
scientifically speaking not at all surprising if they can
thus influence weather.
Researchers in group consciousness have formulated
the theory of Type I civilizations. A humanity that
developed a group consciousness of the new kind
would have neither environmental problems nor
scarcity of energy. For if it were to use its mental
power as a unified civilization, it would have control
of the energies of its home planet as a natural
consequence. And that includes all natural
catastrophes!!! A theoretical Type II civilization would
even be able to control all energies of their home
galaxy. In my book “Nutze die taeglichen Wunder,” I
have described an example of this: Whenever a great
many people focus their attention or consciousness
on something similar like Christmas time, football
world championship or the funeral of Lady Diana in
England, then certain random number generators in
computers start to deliver ordered numbers instead
of the random ones. An ordered group consciousness
creates order in its whole surroundings!
When a great number of people get together very
closely, potentials of violence also dissolve. It looks as
if here, too, a kind of humanitarian consciousness of
all humanity is created(The Global Consciousness
Project).

about this type of counselling that felt right
to me. It was of course that Emotional
Therapy was initially intended to enable
healers and therapists to support clients
who experienced emotional release during
their treatment sessions. The concept was
brought into being by two remarkable
women: Psychologist Sheila Ward, and
healer, Alice Crichton. In her client work
Sheila was convinced that there was a
different approach to be taken for those
experiencing emotional problems that
would often not require the longer-term
treatments of the mental health routes.
Furthermore, this journey of healing could, if
appropriate, take clients into a meaningful
sense of their own spirituality. Fundamental
to this belief was that creative listening, and
the creative use of client ‘work’ was a
valuable part of the healing process.
The premise on which Emotional Therapy is
based is a heart-centred one. We are
encouraged to move out of our heads, that is
away from analysis and logic, and right into
our feelings, feelings that have often been so
long supressed we find ourselves living
behind masks. To help this process to
happen Emotional Therapy utilises a range
of techniques that allow us to express our
feelings often even without the need to do
much talking.
It’s not a requirement for therapists to be
spiritual healers but for me this was the right
path; right because regardless of the
Emotional Therapy techniques I may use
with a client I am never left in any doubt that
when I am coming from the heart, there is a
much more powerful energy at work.

The Power of Names
And If I say ‘Bella the deer’ you’ll know that I
have some kind of relationship with this
deer—it has been in my life for some
reason, for some time. After a day or
so, I just have to say ‘Bella’ and you
know exactly what I’m talking about.
If I then say that Bella was knocked
over and killed by a car, you might
feel just a little sadness because
you know Bella.
I told this story at a workshop and
two of the participants had a tear
in their eye when they heard that
Bella was dead. One of them

about people driving too fast. But
Bella never existed. What did exist is a
name and the projection that they put

Inside Sarajevo - a volunteer’s perspective
In September/October 2011, Norah
Ramsay spent two weeks in the
capital of Sarajevo, helping victims
of the Bosnian War. We caught up
with Norah in December; she is
keen for other healer members to
consider volunteering, so we hope
this account of Norah’s experience
below will encourage some of you
to make the trip:
What inspired you to drop everything for
two weeks and go to Sarajevo?
Well it all started when I read an article in
The Healing Trust magazine over a year ago
about a member who had volunteered to do
two weeks healing work, with a small UK
charity called Healing Hands Network.
Healing Hands Network send
complementary therapists (massage, reiki,
reflexology, energy healing etc) out to
Sarajevo to work with the people of Bosnia
who had suffered during the Bosnian/Serb
conflict in the mid to late 1990’s.
I am not usually a ‘get up and go’ person but
this article really struck a cord with me and I
felt how worthwhile it was and that ‘I could
do that’. The only problem was at that stage
I was a student member with only had Parts
1 & 2 under my belt! However, this
opportunity gave me the momentum I
needed to get on and do Parts 3 & 4 and so
be in a position to volunteer.
What costs were involved and how did
you raise the money?
It costs the Healing Hands Network about
£1500 to send each therapist and I had to
raise half of this, with the charity providing
the other half. I did this through giving
healing in return for donations, putting on
Angel Workshops (I am also an Angel
Therapy Practitioner with Doreen Virtue) and
car boot sales, as well as being given
donations by very kind friends and family.
What sort of guidance and support did
Healing Hands Network give you?
I attended a workshop with the Charity
which was designed to talk us through what
we could expect and the way in which they
operated in Sarajevo, as well as providing an
overview of the war. They made sure that we
understood this was not a holiday. We
would be working with people who had
been in concentration camps or under house
arrest, suffered beatings, abuse, rape and
torture or who may have lost all their family
in the war (many actually seeing their loved

Where did you stay and what was your
accommodation like?
Salih took me directly to the house that the
Charity rented in the old part of Sarajevo.
This doubled as accommodation for the
therapists and also as the clinic during the
day. I was given a lovely welcome by the two
incumbent therapists (who were due to start
their second week) and my fellow therapist
from Switzerland, who had arrived earlier.
Incidentally this crossover arrangement
worked very well with the ‘old hands’
explaining and showing the ‘new hands’ all
they needed to know.
The house was a large old Muslim style
house with a front courtyard (which was
lovely to sit out and have our lunch), all

Two therapists are taken to an Outreach
Centre each day (located outside the city),

were ready to be picked up at 8am and got
back between 5.30 and 6pm.
Once the clinic was over we also had to do
the laundry of the towels, bed sheets etc

therapists use lots of towels!) and get them
dry. Therapists due to go to Outreach the
next day also had to pack everything they
needed (portable couches, pillows, blankets
etc) as there is nothing there, just an empty
room.
As far as cooking was concerned, we ate in
the house a few evenings but generally as
we had to go into town to do the shopping
as well as the cooking, we tended to treat
ourselves to the local cuisine, which was
great and not too expensive (in fact
Penelope Cruiz was filming there in the
centre and eating in the local restaurants at
the same time as us - looking forward to
seeing the film to bring back lots of lovely
memories). Whilst we are given an allowance
to buy food and provisions, ‘eating out’ came
out of our personal money.
How did patients react to their
treatments and to you?
I was pleasantly surprised at how tuned-in
the patients are to energy healing. Many
have had Reiki or other forms of energy
healing before. I was being told that they

I saw seven people a day Monday to

the afternoon) and six on Friday (due to the
shorter hours). We had an hour per patient.
During this hour, you had to read their record

interpreter), write up the record card, prepare

Animal Healing in Egypt
by Elizabeth Whiter MHAO MNFSH IIZ
No sooner had I unpacked my bags
from my animal healing trip in Japan
I was preparing to travel to Egypt to
work at ACE Animal Care unit, an
equine and donkey hospital set up by
Kim Taylor some 12 years ago. Horrified
by the condition of the working
animals whilst on an initial holiday
from the uK she vowed she would
return to Egypt and set up an animal
hospital; her goal to relieve and
prevent the suffering of animals in
Egypt.
95% of the world’s equids are living and
working in the developing world, the
majority in very harsh conditions, and
mostly without any veterinary care
whatsoever and consequently, helping to
maintain the health of working horses and
donkeys is a humanitarian as well as an
animal welfare concern.
Kim and her husband dedicate every
working hour to the hospital. Living close by
Kim and her team of Egyptian vets attend to
donkeys, horses, cats and dogs that turn up
at the hospital gates daily. Kim is a keen
supporter of holistic veterinary services;
complete with rehabilitation and good
animal husbandry skills. However many of
these animals are merely seen as a
commodity and most farmers can barely
feed themselves as they depend heavily on
their working animals for their meagre
income. ACE invites farmers and carriage
drivers to bring their animals to be treated
for free.
patched up as farmers demand their animals
are needed back in the nearby fields to carry
the heavy loads such as sugar cane and
crops to market. This is difficult when
animals need time to heal after having
surgery or treated for broken limbs, foot
abscesses and badly fitted harnesses, which
cause sores to the body and secondary
infections take hold. Only too often we see
animals back at the hospital because they
have not had sufficient recovery time.
Vets, doctors and the healing fraternity are
all in agreement that homeostasis: ‘The
maintenance of dynamic (energy) equilibrium
(balance) is key to healing’. One of the
greatest healers is the body itself for us and
for animals; coupled with care, love, the
intention to heal, good nutrition, and trust is
key to this process. Fortunately the hospital
is equipped with 25 stables and many
donkeys and horses are able to unwind and
have an opportunity to heal properly with
aftercare rehabilitation.
Whilst I was working at the hospital I
conducted a field study for ACE with 14
donkeys and horses and focused on locally
grown plants. One of the plants, Hibiscus
(Hibiscus sabdariffa), is widely drunk by the
locals as a refreshing tea. Nobody had
considered if donkeys and horses may like it.
In Egypt, Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is
known for its extremely high content of
antioxidants (mainly flavonoids), and a rich
source of Vitamin C. There have been
numerous scientific trials on the health
benefits of hibiscus tea namely lowering
blood pressure and stress levels.
A great deal of my work is observing animals
and it was wonderful to see some of the
donkeys and horses self-selecting the dried
hibiscus flowers and some who were not
interested at all. The Egyptian vets were
amazed by the results and considered the
dried hibiscus flower to be a complementary
equine feed especially for those who were
malnourished and weak.
This trip has paved the way for some of my
equine healing students and graduates to
join me and volunteer their services at the
hospital. It was such a humbling experience
to witness the sheer dedication of the staff
and to pay tribute to the 1000’s of horses
and donkeys that need our love and support.

Towards a Better World
that Honours Animals
by Lyn Furlong
Gandhi once said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral
progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
His words speak a deep truth about humans and our animal
brethren – the quality of the relationship mirrors where we
are in our collective evolution.
We do talk to animals all the time, long soulful talks, barked
commands, or sometimes venting anger and frustration, the
problem is we do not actually listen to them. When the
communication is both ways our animals become more than pets,
we realise they are co-equal beings with so much to teach us in
this poignant moment in Earth's history. My work is to promote
compassion and reverence for all life‘s creatures and to make
people aware of the sanctity of our fellow beings.
To communicate in this way entails compassion, acknowledging the presence of a soul in each
animal body and as such, the similarities between all living creatures. This is essential for
telepathic communication facilitating the blending of the disparate human and non-human
cultures. Inter-species communication is through the medium of telepathy and everyone has a
latent ability to use this by opening their hearts and minds to receive the words, images or
feelings.
What is your cat trying to tell you?
Good communication is the foundation for a healthy relationship. Your cat will often stand by
their food bowl and meow in a way that doesn’t leave much to the imagination. In moments
like these, animal-human communication is direct and unmistakable. At other times you may
sense subtler changes in your cat that are not tethered to anything obvious. They may be
moody, aloof or depressed. They may react to a house move, fights between owner and family
members or, to your chagrin, they may suddenly stop using the litter box. Cats are exquisitely
sensitive. On a sensory level, they are more attuned to smells, sounds, and sights compared to
humans and on an emotional level, they hone in on the positive and negative mood swings
and have complex dynamics with both humans and other animals. They are aware of subtle
changes in energy fields and there are many reports of cats aiding the sick by lying on the
afflicted body part and purring - a restorative resonance and vibration.
The challenge for cats is that with their limited vocal range, humans are not always receptive to
their attempts to communicate but once telepathic communication has been established
deeper messages hidden behind their troubling behaviour can lead to mutually supportive
solutions.
Telepathic communication
To communicate with animals is to cultivate a
relationship honouring their sovereignty,
intelligence, and capacity to feel and think.
We move beyond the role of masters and shift
towards communion and a deeper
appreciation of our fellow travellers on planet
earth. Communicating with animals is a
practice that can aid our ecological, political
and spiritual practices, contributing to the
evolution of human civilization.
Stories
...An asthmatic cat was helped through communication as she was able to explain that the attacks
happened whenever the carpet was vacuumed. On investigation it was revealed that perfumed air
filters had been used in the cleaner to which the cat had an allergic reaction. Removing these from
the cleaner cured the cat’s asthma.
...A small dog had suddenly become progressively unwell presenting with hunched back, lack of
appetite and lethargy. The vet suspected some kind of poisoning and was treating him holistically
but was unable to give an antidote without knowing the cause. Eventually an animal
communicator was called and the dog intimated that his feet were the worst problem, tingling like
mad and needed constant licking to soothe them and a short while after this he had a really bad
stomach ache. His owner remembered the council spraying weedkiller on the path outside their
house, so the poison was identified and an antidote given thus saving his life.
A Poem from an
Animal’s Perspective
I rescued a human today.
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor
peering apprehensively into the kennels.
I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't
be afraid.
As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a
little accident I had in the back of my cage.
I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked
today.
Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't
want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't
feel sad about my past.
I only have the future to look forward to and want to
make a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy
sounds at me.
I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against
the bars to comfort her.
Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate
for companionship.
A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to
assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so
bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.
I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that
radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor.
So many more are out there who haven't walked the
corridors.
So many more to be saved.
At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.

an edge that only the right colour selection can give his business to keep him one
step ahead of the competition, vital in the competitive world of enterprise. I also
help people choose the most healing and beneficial colour choices for their
homes to support the family, creating a nurturing healing environment,
alleviating the stresses and strains of modern life.
Mother felt elated after the healing and more importantly her health improved as
she began to recover her strength and vitality. We were living in New Zealand at
the time, having left the UK to start anew. Our home could not have been better
placed standing on the cliff - a glorious position looking out to the ocean and
island beyond. For one who has always appreciated and loved nature this was
paradise for me, with just a few yards to walk to the sandy beaches I truly was in
my own heaven. Many long days were spent walking along the connecting
beaches alone with my thoughts, senses alive as I observed the vibrant colours of
nature, stopping to view, to absorb, to discover, to compare, to learn.

had the pleasure to work with I believe was helped with colour.
Colour workshops
Teaching colour has been an honour. Being able to pass on the knowledge that I
have secured over my many years of practice and to see others inspired and alight
with enthusiasm is joyous. The greatest joy being when they announce they are

[Sky] Blue Monday
...it’s all about perspective!
Apparently, this year ‘Blue Monday’ fell on 16th January*. I sat and
wrote this article on the 10th, following a full moon that left me feeling
‘spacey’ (Monday 9th January). A day that included several sad emails of deaths,
illnesses, and friends calling for help, not knowing why they felt so down! It’s the time of year:
winter, lack of sun, back to work after all the festivities (and the resultant monster bills to pay), forget
Blue Monday, how about Blue January! But then...
... I woke with a marked determination to
knock the blues on the head. Various
images and ideas started to stream into
my head like a movie - marvellous things I encouraged my brain to keep going
with the random thoughts and within 10
minutes, my heart was bursting with
happiness! So if you are ever feeling
blue, stop and fill your mind with a few of
these (or preferably your own brand) and
let your worries and concerns melt away
with childlike wonder…
- Rainbows: double rainbows, half circle
rainbows, reflected rainbows!
- How does a whale not sink to the bottom
of the sea?
- Flocks of birds, dipping and swooping in
perfect unison.
- A field of big bright smiling sunflowers.
- Butterflies… do they worry about
damaging their delicate wings?
- The Northern Lights.
- Clouds that make pictures in the sky (just
look for them).
- A sperm and an egg… then nine months
later a tiny human being.
- Tiny petit pois, harvested and frozen in
less than 2½ hours (can you image
picking and shelling them yourself?!)
- Wondering what it must feel like to peer
out of the the top window of the Burj
Khalifa in Dubai ((2,723 feet up).
- Marvelling at the Great Wall of China.
- Imagine being a snail and carrying your
bed around with you 24/7.
- Dancing and singing your heart out when
no-one can see or hear you.
- Several tons of metal, 30,000 ft up in the
sky, holding hundreds of people...
- Building the London Underground. Would
any country tackle such an enormous task
these days?!
- Laser eye surgery… from nearly blind to
super sight in an hour.
- Sunday roast slow-cooked shoulder of
lamb, Jamie style…
- Just how do bumble bees manage to fly?
- Wouldn’t it be great to be a
cat for a day?
- A smile and a
wink from a
complete
stranger (giving
or receiving)
- Walking on freshly laid crunchy snow.
- One for the ladies... new shoes!
- One for the gents... hiring a classic car for
the weekend!
- A spider’s web glistening with Jack Frost.
- The magnificent English (Welsh, Scottish,
Irish) countryside.
- Losing yourself for hours in an art gallery
(or museum).
- Having a really good, long, belly laugh.
- The Crystal Cave in Mexico - (see them here
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8466493.stm)
- Wondering what else our planet is hiding.
- The seven wonder of humankind: seeing,
feeling , hearing, tasting, laughing, loving
and just being.
We are so lucky to witness, be part of and
enjoy all of this and ions more. Write your
own list of things that make your heart sing
and keep it somewhere handy - the perfect
mind-medicine for ‘blue’ days…
- Remembering how you felt when you first
fell in love.
- Swimming with dolphins in the sea.
- Condensed milk on a slice of hot toast.
- Waking from a dream where you were
flying and that invincible feeling.
- Homemade lemonade.
- Otters and other endearing animals.
- Line fishing out at sea, on a hot breezy
day.
- A message delivered to the other side of
the world, in seconds, via email.
- The notion that we are all connected via a * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Monday_%28date%29

- Jumping waves in the clear blue sea.

Mentoring in Northampton
On Friday 6th January 2012 we opened up Central Office top floor for
student mentoring sessions for a group of local students in the area. Full
healers present were Rita Haylock, Ron Dudley-Smith, Gary Bates and
Maureen Motley, plus six of us students.
Rita led the way: we opened with a lovely guided meditation, then we
chatted about healing in general and then on to the Healing Act itself. I
cannot praise Rita enough for the way she guided us through the evening,
her wealth of knowledge and experience was invaluable and I could not
have imagined just how important these sessions were going to be to the
group.
We do not have a Centre or Development Group in Northampton and
there are a few of us at the same stages here so this has been a huge
success and helped us enormously.
Thank you to our four healers for their help and support.

Healing Lectures
for medical students
Four years ago, I was honoured to be put forward
by a hospital consultant to give talks about healing
to medical students at Birmingham University. This
also included being invited to their annual
Complementary Therapy Forum at which groups of
18 students receive a one hour talk and demo by a
practitioner. Whenever the opportunity has arisen,
I have encouraged the organisers to invite another
of our healers onto the teaching team and I am
thrilled that Barbara Toovey and Peter Hockley are
now on the standard invitation list. Each
practitioner talks to two groups, which means that,
It has been in my mind for some years to see
about arranging regular healing sessions for
medical students at Birmingham University
but I have been too overloaded, until
recently, to take the idea any further. Not
only might healing help them through the stressful
times of their studies but it would also create future
medics who have a practical awareness of healing.
After each of my talks at the recent Complementary
Therapy Forum, students asked how they might
access healing themselves. Further investigations
reveal that this might be possible to organise on
campus and I am currently awaiting responses. If
you might be able to offer healing there, do please
get in touch! Or if you would like to take either of
these ideas to a Medical School near you, feel free
to contact me in case I can help put you in touch
with the right people.

Amazing Training!
At last, I recently had time to access training for public speaking so I
could learn to get the message across about healing more
effectively. Imagine my surprise and delight to discover
incredibly cheap courses at a residential venue that has a
history! In 1954, George Cadbury bequeathed his magnificent
family home to Fircroft College in Birmingham and the three
day Public Speaking course that I attended was only £70! Yes,
£70! Basic student accommodation but en suite, plentiful and
delicious home-cooked food, modern and well-equipped training
facilities – what more could you ask? And for people on benefit, it’s free!
It is geared for people who missed out on higher education but anyone can go – I went
to improve my voluntary work (ie giving talks about healing) but, of my eight fellow
attendees, one had driven from London, one was nearly 80, two were long-term
unemployed and four were young business people. A wonderful experience and thoroughly
recommended!

been designed to lull you into nourishing
slumber. It has already helped many people,
some of whom have made the following
comments:
Says a consultant - One of my patients hadn’t
slept for two years - ever since her husband
died - but has had no trouble since listening
to this CD.
Says a healer – One of my patients had been
on sleeping tablets for three years but hasn’t
needed any since listening to this CD and
now sleeps like a log!
Says a mother – I listened to this CD whilst
doing the ironing so that I would know
exactly what I was giving to my teenage
daughter to use – and now I find that I’m no
longer afraid of going to the dentist!
Says a hospital staff member – I’ve tried all
the famous name CDs but this is the best!
The whole selling price supports healing so
it’s a doubly beneficial investment of your £8.

Today was great; we
learned how to channel
healing energy...
The younger a person is when they
learn the healing art, the more likely
their life will flow with ease.
Giving youngsters the tools to understand their
energy system is an incredible gift. But how young?
How about the receptive and curious minds of 10-12
year olds!
But how to you get to them? The Healing Trust is
looking into this very important area, with a view to
putting together a ‘Healing in Schools’ pack for you.
Amongst other ideas, the pack could include a letter
of introduction directed to the PSHE department
head, which you would be able to personalise for any
schools you target, and a full two-hour workshop
outline, showing you step-by-step the best way to
engage your young audience and keep them
interested for the full two hours.
We are considering that this workshop could be
delivered by healer members as well as tutors (due to
insurance requirements, students will need to wait
until they have passed their panel). We believe this
will be an excellent way to get the message back to
parents – just imagine, a whole classroom of 10 year
olds going home and teaching their family what it

Sponsored Walk
The 208-mile Cornish Coastal Path
to Raise Money for Healing Centres
in London
My healing journey has been linked with the simple
pleasure of walking. When I was 16 I walked part of
the Cornish Coastal Path with three school friends
from St.Ives to Penzance. It was a different era when
you could just ask a farmer to camp in their field, and
with luck be given free milk in the morning. My next
challenge was about 25 years later when I went on a
three week trek in the Himalayas, having to cross the Thorong La Pass at
nearly 18,000 feet. This was at a time when I was getting interested in
Buddhism, yoga and meditation. Maybe a catalyst was also meeting a
Tibetan Lama living in a cave in the mountains. He blessed us all and gave
us added impetus to tackle the pass, which was snowbound.
My first contact with NFSH was at the Mind Body Spirit Festival in London. I then
trained doing Parts 1 & 2 in 1999. However I was a busy manager of a social work
team, assessing people with serious drug and alcohol problems and arranging
treatment and after-care for them. My healing journey took a back-seat, although I
kept up with doing different yoga, tai chi and meditation courses. In 2007 I had to
deal with a combination of my father dying of cancer, and being diagnosed myself
with kidney cancer. After surgery for my cancer I started attending Shepherds Bush
Healing Centre for healing for myself. This prompted me to resume my NFSH training,
which I completed in March 2009. Since November 2008 I have been a healer at
Shepherds Bush Centre, where we are open every Wednesday.
There have been a number of books that have inspired me in my walking
journeys: ”Two Feet, Four Paws” by Spud Talbot-Ponsby, a book describing a young
woman’s walk around the coastline of Britain, accompanied by her dog, Tess, raising
money for Shelter. Her later book ”Small Steps with Paws and Hooves, a Highland
Journey,” describes her walk along old drovers’ trails in the Highlands together with

her 11 month old son, a carthorse and her dog Tess, the veteran
of her coastline walk. This book is a much more personal story of
her coming to terms with her cancer treatment and being
abandoned by the father of her child, and how the act of
walking can be healing.
A couple of years ago I met the author, Fran Sondheim, at a
talk in a local library. His book “Transversa” was about his 3,000
mile walk across Africa from the East coast in Namibia to the
West coast in Tanzania. It demonstrates an incredible
determination to succeed against all the odds and without
meticulous planning. I have enjoyed the BBC series Coast, and
always thought the presenter, Nicholas Crane, looked a bit
affected with his umbrella sticking out of his rucksack. However,
a friend told me to look out his book ”Clear Waters Rising”. This
describes his solo walk when he was 40 lasting an incredible 17
months and walking from Cape Finisterre in Spain across the
major European mountain ranges to Istanbul. After reading
these two books it makes me very humble, realising what ordinary people can
achieve.
In May 2008, partly to prove to myself I had fully recovered from cancer, I walked
across Scotland from the West Coast to the East, this incorporated the West Highland
Way to Fort William and then the Great Glen Way on to Inverness. I survived and even
enjoyed the experience.
In May this year I am going to walk the Cornish Coastal Path from Bude to
Falmouth, a 208-mile coastal walk, and want to use this walk to raise money to
develop Healing Centres in London. I will take as my inspiration ’The Long Road Turns
to Joy’, a guide to walking meditation by the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh:
“Walking meditation is meditating while walking. We walk slowly in a relaxed way,
keeping a light smile on our lips. When we practice this way, we feel deeply at ease and
our steps are those of the most secure person on Earth. Anyone can do it. It takes only a
little time, a little mindfulness and the wish to be happy”. Hopefully I will achieve some
of this doing the walk.
If you would like to sponsor me please contact me on [email protected] or
via InTouch.

Most of you will be familiar with the many patterns
that are formed in the landscape in many parts of the
strongly connected to the Perpetual Choirs of Britain,
world – sacred geometric shapes such as circles,
which existed some 4,000 years ago. There are many
rectangles and stars, including outlines of the various
different notions surrounding the concept of these
signs of the Zodiac. You are probably also aware that at choirs, but it widely believed that choirs of 100 Druids
would sing in rotation to maintain continuous chanting
the intersections of these lines there are significant
points of interest and special energy such as holy wells, throughout every day of the year at a number of key
points across the country, the intention of which was to
standing stones, churches and chapels, crosses, and
maintain a permanent spell of enchantment or peace
other such sacred symbols and places, as well as
across the land. It is believed that there were three
mountain and hill tops.
What is not so widely known is that there are two vast choirs working on each circle.
Of course, we have no idea as to whether the priests
circles covering the midlands and south of England,
at the time were aware of the existence of these
both of which circumscribe two decagons. These are
known as the ‘Circles of Perpetual Choirs of Britain’. The decagons and circles, whether they purposely created

western circle is centred on the tiny hamlet of
chanting for a divine purpose, and the sacred circles
formed as a result of the vibration of their holy intent –
rather like the way in which the TONGO focal points have
produced dowseable patterns as they emit waves of
healing energy, and have self-seeded their own focal
points as they spread across the landscape.
The concept of TONGO ties in so beautifully with the
Perpetual Choirs of Britain. For, although we do not
perform together physically as an orchestrated choir,
harmonising our voices, and chanting identical words,
we are an ever-increasing choir of spiritually aware
people who are using our minds and loving intent to
heal and rebalance the landscape, sending out healing
energy to all forms of life on our planet, with the intent
of taking us all as smoothly as possible into the
vibrations of the New Consciousness. We are singing
from the same hymn sheet as the Druids of old.
So let us keep singing our song of Love in harmony
and let us keep sending healing to the TONGO focal
points worldwide, where the energy will build up in
magnitude and will be distributed to exactly where it is
needed.
And don’t forget to tune in with the rest of us at 7pm
on the 27th of every month to keep the energy flowing.
It only requires a ‘nanosecond’ of focussed loving intent
to keep the sacred stream of love working throughout
the world. It’s working!

Poetry by Susanne West
Susanne Elizabeth West was born in Lincoln, married her late husband in London. Upon her parent’s death, returned to her roots in Lincoln.
She developed to a psychic level and as this happened she linked to higher energies, which guided her writing. She also finds she can read
people’s auras and finds spirit manifests around her.
Today, she is a Crystal and Reiki Healer and a Spiritual Teacher. She is also qualified in Indian Head and Neck Massage and Hopi Ear Candles,
currently undertaking training with the Healing Trust, having gained Parts 1 and 2, hoping to qualify in 18 months time.
A Song of Spiritual Colour
A Journey through Time and Space
Lady of the Ocean
A Sense of Time and Place
White is the colour of Purity
Like a higher note to sing
A spiritual realm or aura
It feels like a bird on the wing
We pass through a distance in time
And transcend down a gentle pathway
We pause to look as we climb
After our all too brief a stay
You can see a memory
Of times so loved and cherished
It is real, just where you are
A shadow here, there so relished
Purple cools the brow and makes it feel
Eternally youthful like the note
Sung on Guitar or Base Drum
Like the musician when he wrote
We feel the warmth of a distant breeze
The touch of gentle guiding hands
Our sense floats o’er the seas
And takes us to far off lands
She takes you down to the vast Ocean
To see the boats as they pass on by
Your mind touches her body with
emotion
A bridge covers your sorrows with a sigh
Blue is the colour to help the throat
To communicate is a fine thing
The voice can express volumes
And held joy when it can sing
We see the horizon so very clear
The hills and vales come into view
Everything we have held so dear
Wraps around us and transports us
through
Green heals the heart that hurts
The pain of true love is hard to bare
Love songs played silently in the heart
When spoken or sung are joys so rare
We hear the sound of far off bells
The tranquility in our hearts and mind
The ripples of sound delights and tells
We are nearing our very own kind
Yellow a golden colour to warm the mind
The area of birth is enfolded in this
We taste the balm of lemon trees
To feel happiness and such warmth
Of fruit gathered by our hands
Can enfold and tune you with bliss
Once more we taste refreshing water
from leas
Orange like a base note on the drum
As we approach the far off lands
Helps to bring lovers to your realm
The lower notes support the spiritual
We sense the freedom of the earth
tones
Which reaches unto the far off skies
And keep afloat while at the helm
Since from our time of distant birth
Takes us to that distant glow of sun-rise
Red the lowest energy of all
Secure you to the ground we’re from
The very base you’ll ever find
And show you the basic notes of Drum
There is a song within your mind
Lady of the ocean passing by
Her mind teases your thoughts; you don’t
mind
She takes you in her arms; you cry
She shows you the children of the River
They are clad in rags, with soiled hands
The ecstasy makes you shake and shiver
They have come from far off lands

You can hear the rustle of a dress
Is it scarlet satin, organza or silk?
Was it imagination? Dare you confess?
A clip clop of horses on stone
You can smell lavender, memory held
dear
You cannot control the way you feel
A faint whiff of some rose petals in water
A ripple from the sea; splashes your brow Smell so faint of pipe smoke
Like a tear that spills, from water wheel
They remembered you were their

Cherish the love for people left
The mirrors of the soul reflect that day
They still hover at your side
She kissed your soul; you were not aware Their love surrounds you when forlorn
It seems ages since she went away

Your soul was touched, so very rare
Obituary: Farewell to a gifted Healer and dear friend
It is with great sadness that we have to
announce that Allan Hall, a dedicated
student healer in Region 7, Suffolk, passed
peacefully to Spirit on the 2nd of January.
Allan was a gifted healer and I had the
privilege to guide him through his NFSH
Healing Foundation Course as his tutor in
2006.
In the last years of his life Allen gave a
huge amount of time to support others,
despite his chronic illness. He worked
regularly as a healer in the weekly healing
clinic of Cedars’ Spiritualist Church in

I shall attune with the Source of Peace and Love.

Dear Members
I would like to take this opportunity through
InTouch to thank the committee members of
Region 5 for their hard work during the past 12
months. They have organised very successful
workshop panels for five new members,
newsletters, kept contact with members,
attended meetings in Northampton as well in
the Region, taken healing into hospitals and
hospices and run healing clinics.
This is a very big region and we have kept
busy and really happy, working so well
together demonstrating a spiritual attitude in
everything we do. We have a great team in
Region 5 and I look forward to another year of
healing and learning with them all.
All members in Region 5 are invited to our
AGM on 12th May 2012 and to contact your
committee for support, advice or just to keep in
touch whenever they wish.
All the best for the New Year and may all your
dreams come true.
Rita Haylock 26019, Chair for Region 5
Hi Kerry
Re: Distant Healing Article
It was heartwarming to read those letters in
InTouch… just shows what a difference our
service can make to people in need.
Sally Chaffer
Dear Members,
I am hoping that someone can help. My
daughter is in Thailand, looking after stray
dogs, she is in need of respite and I am hoping
that someone would be willing to go over for a
couple of weeks and relieve her. If you are a
dog lover and can spare the time, please get in
touch for more information - please email Kerry
at Central Office with your contact details and
she will pass them on to me - thank you!
Kind regards, Jenny Ashford

What type of articles interest you... more
interviews with healers? With book authors?
With well-known figureheads in the holistic
industry? More (or fewer) book reviews? More
scientific research articles? Do you enjoy
reading accounts of fellow healers’
experiences? Feedback from the exhibitions
THT has attended around the UK? What would
you like to read more of... less of? Please write
in and tell us, or phone and share your ideas
with Kerry. Even better - write an article for the
magazine! (if you’re not a confident writer but
have a good story to tell, we can help you put it
together... please just ask).
We look forward to hearing from you...

You Too Can Be Famous!
Do you fancy telling others about your
Healing experiences and successes, or
doubts and questions? Or perhaps you
have controversial comments to make
"How many Healers does it take to…?"
Or yet again, you fancy starting (or
ending) an argument? (while wishing to
be seen to be on the moral high ground,
of course).
Are you a
talented artist?
Watercolour, oil, silk, acrylic, wood, ceramic,
glass, textile, collage - art comes in so many
forms. We are looking for members who would
like to share their Spiritual Art creations in the
magazine. If you are interested, please send a
digital image of your creation to
[email protected] (please don’t send
original work in, thank you), and we’ll do our best
to feature as many as possible in the magazine
ongoing - you never know, your work could even
adorn the front cover of InTouch!
All of this is now possible, as I have
proved. But let me take a step back.
(Note the use of "But" at the start of a
sentence! When it's MY article, if I want
to write it like that I can! And if you
wrote something, you could write it
however YOU wanted!) However, back to
the story.
I'd often thought of writing an item for
InTouch. What they needed was a
proper grass-roots voice to speak to the
members, to tell it as it is. But ("But"
again!) when I looked, InTouch was
already full. There were no gaps or
empty spaces anywhere. And the same
thing happened every issue. This
stumped me for a while but then it
suddenly occurred to me – this new
fangled Forum on the Healing Trust
website would be the place to do it –
keep up with the times and all that. Also,
more to the point, there is loads of space.
You can keep writing and writing and it
never fills up.
I called my articles "John's blog" © and
since starting it I've been able to

Dish the dirt on asses milk
Grapple with auras
Progress through my doubts
Ask the sort of questions that never
get asked (or answered)
Turn the clock back (Hi Fran!)
So, want to be famous, but two left legs
and a frozen larynx mean The X Factor is
out? Why not follow my example by
writing an article on the HT Forum?
However, there is one advantage of the
magazine over the
Forum. You can
have photos in the
magazine. So here I
am, at last, courtesy
of those jobsworths

NEW! Doreen Virtue’s Angel Cards...
Messages from
your Angels
Daily Guidance from
your Angels
It has been a pleasure for me to be able to review the
“Messages from your Angels” oracle cards from Doreen
Virtue as I personally have an interest in angel cards.
The cards are of a manageable and comfortable size to
use and handle. The pictures are bright, positive, clear
and happy. I found the messages on the cards to be the
perfect length, clear and to the point answers without
being too long to read. Pure and simple terminology which get the message straight
across without being too deep and confusing. The guidebook that comes with the
pack is also very easy reading, more in depth than the cards themselves but easy to
grasp and understand. I would happily recommend these to other Angel Card / Oracle
Card users. Review by Vicky Tipping
Both card packs are available to purchase
from Central Office: one pack £12,
or two packs for £22 p&p included.
I have been asking for ‘daily guidance’ from the Angels
for what must be 25 years now, so to be given these
cards to review was a joy!
They are beautiful to look at - each card has a gorgeous
modern illustration, provided by several artists, the
main colour of the pack is a rich purple, with sparkling
gold on the side of the cards and they come in a hardy
box, with a palm-sized 98-page guide book.
My understanding is that we have free will, so must make clear requests for help from
the Angelic Realms, which is made much easier when you have a deck of cards
specifically attuned to the task. Simply say please three times to get your Angel’s
attention (something I was advised years ago), ask your question as clearly as
possible, and finish off with ‘For the Highest and Greatest Good of All’, you will then be
guided to pick the right card... Read your card, then dip into the book for further
guidance (and don’t forget to say thank you in appreciation of the advice given).
I intend to use these cards on a regular basis, they are perfect for personal use and
would also make a lovely gift. Review by Nikki Zalewski

Holy Hostage
by David Cunningham
David Cunningham gives an indepth view into his life, from being
held prisoner by Saddam Hussein
and his pledge to be a Healer if he
was released back home.
Along with a fascinating story of his realization of his
own unique gift, reading David's experiences also
provides the reader with an insight to how personal
healing can work and gives various accounts of the
people he has met and healed along his way, including
various famous people.
He teaches the reader about how the mind, body and
spirit work, and breaks it down into simple terms and
diagrams, and various prayers and messages he has
received from spirits to aid him along this spiritual
journey through his exciting, if somewhat dangerous
and scary times.
A really good story complete with photos and
newspaper articles of a healer's life and his journey that
led him on this path of enlightenment.

Invisible Journey
by Tim Wheater
Invisible Journey is a C.D of
mantras; I enjoy mantras and this
CD is full of little gems. It has well
know mantras like Gayatri, Om Mani Padme Hum, Oh
Hum So Hum, to name a few and one that is not known
to me: Nam Myoho Renge Kyo - which is very
atmospheric and my personal favourite - it made me
smile from the inside.
The music on the CD is very polished, with chanting
and the haunting voice of Natalie Shaw, beautifully
played instruments ranging from piano to drum and
Irish whistles, all beautifully arranged together.
This CD even has a piece of music composed by G F
Handel ‘Hail The Conquering Hero Comes’, I played this
CD through three times consecutively on reviewing and
it gets better the more you listen to it.
I love this CD and I can see it will be a welcome
addition to my CD collection. Review by Kerry Wilson

The Silence of the
Mind by Ilie Cioara
This book sets out to challenge our
thinking about everything that we
have ever thought about spirituality.
The author is Romanian and the
book is a translation. We owe a debt
of gratitude to the translator, Petrica Verdes for his
patient work to give us the essence of the work and for
enabling the translation to be such a valuable gift.

in touch
The author explains a little about his life towards the
end of the book and he gives the most riveting
explanation about astral travelling and also about
precepts for living a spiritual life. His voice comes
through the text quite clearly as being his own original
thinking. It is very acceptable in style but sets about
challenging accepted opinion from all areas of life.
The book is a journey of self-discovery for the reader.
Through these mirror-poems, he is able to see the reality
of his being as if in a mirror. The approach of the book is
very intuitive and practical, rather than descriptive. He
does not explain – he gives the reader an experience,
using words. All the verses are followed by explanations
in prose.
Because Ilie Cioara was almost alone, during the
communist years, he had to communicate this
experience in writing. He is using words directly, as a
device for awakening. He is addressing the reader
directly, but he is not there to provide information, he is
there to awaken.
This is a unique book. It is not a discourse – the reader
can use the book as a device to awaken. And Ilie Cioara is
the first to remind the reader: ” You don’t need anything
outside yourself. Do not get fixated on an object, such as
the breath. Forget the author completely and just stay
with the experience of being in the moment. Read the
words and transcend them.”
This beautiful book is a little gem. These poems are
original and very powerful. The book can be opened at
any time and a poem chosen and read. Each time it will
add something new to your thinking. They are the most
beautiful starting point for meditation and
contemplation. Review by Annie Britt
Animal Whispers
Sound Therapy for You and
Your Animals with Tim Wheater
and Elizabeth Whiter.
I was asked to review this CD and
interestingly, left it to the last minute, which happened
to be a time when my beautiful black cat, Lucky, had
been quite poorly. One side of the CD is the beautiful
instrumental healing music that we have come to expect
from Tim Wheater - and is described as resembling sonic
vitamins! I sat down with said cat and drifted into a
lovely healing space; it was deeply relaxing (cat sleeping
under table at this stage).
The second side is "sound therapy" consisting of three
guided visualisations with Elizabeth Whiter, and the
same beautiful background music. Said cat wakes up
and begins to clean his paws, watching me quizzically as
I repeat the words of the visualisation: "I am grounded, I
am centred". The last visualisation involves giving
healing to your pet - and amazingly, this poorly cat
came over and stretched out in front of me, rolled onto
his back and ‘allowed’ me to give him healing...
incredible!
This CD has
been created
with the
intention that
both humans
and their
animals can
share this
healing experience. Whilst I am not a trained "animal
healer" and normally defer to my much more
experienced animal healer friends, I found this a really
relaxing experience, and the cat has a very contented
look on his face! Review by Liz Weir

Resonance
by Joyce Hawkes Phd
Joyce Hawkes is a biophysicist and
cell biologist. After a near death
experience she was drawn to explore
avenues surrounding the subject of
harmonious health and vitality. Her
search in the healing practices has taken her to various
parts of the world under various tutors. Her knowledge
of science coupled with her healing research has
resulted in her book containing nine chapters dealing
with her findings. Each chapter culminates in thoughtful
awareness and meditative resonance; the information
provided makes this book a must read and I thoroughly
recommend it to our members. There is also a website
available for further inspiration.

Spontaneous
Evolution
Our Positive Future (and a way
to get there from here)
by Bruce Lipton and
Steve Bhaerman
‘Spontaneous Evolution’ contains powerful suggestions
for a new paradigm and merges current scientific
insights with ancient wisdom to reveal how truly
powerful we are and illustrates how we can, at the
cellular level, influence our own lives.
The first half presents some very intelligent summaries
and insights regarding the ways the Western human
race has sabotaged its health down the centuries. The
second half contains the new paradigm outline, which
at times loses itself in elaborate and clever explanations
and suggestions. Nevertheless it makes worthwhile
reading because we are invited to see how a holistic
new light is being cast on an emerging new civilization.
This is an ambitious and optimistic book.

Elizabeth will show you various ways
of healing your pets ‘from hands on’

animal guests. We will cover the
importance of connecting and
telepathically linking with our pets
and, more importantly, listening to
their needs. Liz will be sharing with
you valuable tips on nutrition,
holistic lifestyle changes and
behavioral issues. The importance of
meditation and being in the

Report from Pamela Lyons de Araujo
It is with regret that due to time constraint,
Region 7’s Committee was unable to produce a Newsletter
at this important time of the year when it is vital to
advertise events scheduled for the year ahead. However,
apart from listing the main events in this Report,
information about the major events - plus other Regional
news - is available on our Regional website so do have a
browse. Remember, our website address is www.nfsh-region7.co.uk
The biggest event since out last Newsletter was the
Regional Reunion & Healathon! This was the first time we
have held an event of this type and it proved to be a winner,
with over 60 Members making their way to Gt Barton
Village Hall in Suffolk on October 23rd.
The day started off with light refreshments after which
there was a group meditation. Valerie Hall, Fellow, and past
Chair of the Region followed this by sharing her fascinating
journey into healing and recounting her many years as a
Member of the NFSH/The Healing Trust. The shared lunch
turned out to be a veritable feast! Thanks go to everyone for
their wonderful generosity not only with the abundance of
culinary delights - but also for supporting the Raffle and for
donations.
The ‘banquet’ was followed by Questions & Answers - a
lively debate ably fielded by Valerie. This proved popular
and covered questions from what Membership of the NFSH
offered - to views expressed on the future of both the
organisation and healing in general. It was interesting to
have the Q & A from Members and it has proved that ‘open
debate’ is welcomed and something to be considered for
future events.
Time was scheduled for Contact Healing which, despite
the numbers, ran very smoothly. Bryan Austin, who
coordinates Region 7’s Distant Healing then closed the day
by facilitating a Distant Healing meditation prayer from
Audrey Murr Copland.
The day proved popular and productive and raised a very
generous £208.05 towards the much-needed funds for
running the Region. Sincere thanks go to all those who so
willingly helped organise the event, donated raffle prizes
and our special thanks go to our Secretary, Bryan Timms
and his wife, Barbara, for seamlessly manning the kitchen
during the day – then clearing up afterwards. You’re Stars!
Talking of Babs: Congratulations go to you Barbara for
passing your Panel! We are delighted to welcome you as a
Full Healer Member! Well done!

Report from Ann James
Welcome to 2012 and all the wonderful energy available to
us during this time of transition and release. Each new year
brings challenges, with resolutions being made and broken
at the drop of a hat! A time of sentimental reflection,
allowing our hopes and dreams to surface whilst facing
daily tasks head on with vigour after being re-charged over
the Christmas holiday period. The winter season is of course
one that can also bring sadness in the form of illness,
homelessness, famine, war and bereavement, thus as
healers we will continue to send our love and light far and
wide as we offer help and support.
Our region has remained active over the winter although
a lack of information coming through to committee from
members means that we are unable to publish a newsletter
for this period. It is very important as you are all aware to
keep the regional network moving forward. If anyone has
time to help on the committee please ask Linda for a
nomination slip or come along to the AGM on 31st March
10.00am start. Details of the speaker and venue will be
distributed by email or posted by February 14th 2012. As I
am writing this at the deadline for publication 15/1/12
please accept my apologies for lack of further information.
The reply slips along with payment for the workshop/
speaker section need to be returned as soon as possible to
Linda so that we can finalise numbers. Friends and partners
who are non members are very welcome to attend,
however they will need to have an extended lunch whilst
the business of the day takes place! Entry to the AGM itself
is of course free, just bring along your membership card.
Plated food donations for a sharing lunch are welcome if
you are staying for the day. We anticipate finishing at
4.00pm.One Trustee usually attends a regional AGM and
should therefore be available for a brief question and
answer session if required.
On a different note, members using the internet forums
or those of you who regularly attend our Healing
Centres/support groups will be aware of the events
following our national AGM. The degree of unrest currently
taking place is therefore indicative of the potential yet to be
achieved! We are all capable of going with the flow as much
as we are of resisting it and this year will certainly put us to
the test. How we respond to change is so important and as
healers we are surely aware that the light will ALWAYS lead
us safely onwards. As a region we continue to send love and
light and our thanks to those who speak up on our behalf.
November 2011 was a busy month and thanks go to all
members who offered their time to provide healing at the
MBS event in Birmingham, we enjoyed a lovely weekend
and hope to attend again later this year. Names down early
please if you can help!
Also thanks to all who participated in our away day at
Studley. The fine weather, wonderful company and
energetic facilitators combined to make the day a success.
If anyone wishes to run a workshop that they feel will
benefit other members in the region please let us know. We
do have some funds in the pot which can be made available
to benefit healing locally and can cover expenses as
required.
Following the prior refusal of funding for the NIP
exhibition by the board, the committee reached the
decision also not to fund, due to the costs involved. It goes
without saying that any submission for funding must be
made before booking an exhibition to avoid confusion
further down the line. Also any groups using stands at
exhibitions in the name of NFSH The Healing Trust should
be forwarding donations to The Healing Trust, regionally or
directly to CO. Although self employed Healers/volunteers
and centres may charge/accept donations and keep funds
as they see fit, if anything is gained under the official
banner (or gift aided)please pass on to Maureen (Treasurer
R8)or directly to CO. Each recognised centre is able to
manage its own funds and hopefully 2012 will be a
successful year for all involved.
Many thanks to all our volunteers who continually offer
their love, support, healing and compassion. Thanks also to
Kate Davies for offering her time and expertise to join our
regional committee.
Love and light to all, Ann x R8 Chair

Report from Alan McPherson
Happy New Year to all the members of Region 9. As we
enter 2012, I reflect on the pace of changes that have
occurred, and continue to occur, in tune with the cosmic
plan of this time. I ask all members to continue to send
their love and healing, without judgement, to all who are
part of this great plan.
In the interest of self healing and development, I have
included numerous training and CPD opportunities I am
aware of occurring across our region. Whilst such a list
would be complete, the following training I am personally
aware of and know to be of high standard. I also encourage
all who have time to spare to volunteer at our healing
centres, reaching whomever comes for healing.
Here are some of the news and updates from the various
counties in our Region:Derbyshire – no updates at this time.
Lincolnshire – for therapists and healers, I can
recommend the combination of neuro-linguistic
programming and energy psychology. Philip Underwood
presents the techniques of NLP and healing in simple but
effective ways of supporting individuals through their
difficulties. Starting in May, Philip is running another
excellent course, which, as I have found, has greatly
benefited my therapeutic practice. Philip can be contacted
by telephone on 01522 680687.
Nottinghamshire - Julie Tasker, our newest qualified
tutor, has organised training for Part 1, for 25th and 26th
February. The training is also advertised on the NFSH The
Healing Trust website. She asks that this course be
advertised far and wide, for those of you who know
individuals who would be interested in training to be a
Healer. Julie can be contacted by email at
[email protected].
The 'Wisdom Shared Foundation', run by long-standing
member Beryl Woolgar and colleagues, is running a
number of Working and Healing with the Angels
Workshops. The course consists of two levels, with Level 1
sessions occurring Sunday 5th February and Sunday 29th
April, and Level 2 sessions occurring Sunday 4th March and
Sunday 3rd June. All sessions are 10am to 4pm. Beryl can
be contacted on 01949 836217 during the day.
South/West Yorkshire – it is with sadness I have to report
the closure of the Sheffield Healing Centre. However, like a
phoenix from the ashes, a Region 9 member has stepped
forward to reopen a healing centre in the Sheffield area in
the near future. Carina is asking for any support, large or
small, from healers and trainees in getting this project off of
the ground. Carina can be contacted on
[email protected].
If you have any local news or updates, or anything you
would like to appear here, please let me know.

John Taylor our Region’s Secretary has been working with a
group of healers in South Manchester with a view to
opening a new healing centre, they have a potential base in

Gorton Monastery – Monthly Healing Sessions
I am also delighted to inform you that a new monthly
healing session will be held at Gorton Monastery beginning
Sunday February 5th, 2012 (this first was led by Jackie
Haworth, with John Taylor leading on 4th March). It is
hoped a more local healer can take charge after that.
Patients will be able to pre-book a healing session as well
as just turn up. John Taylor is currently recruiting healers, so
please contact him if you would like to support this
monthly event. Healers need to arrive at 11.30am for a

Region 10 – AGM
It has been quite challenging this year to find a venue for
the AGM due to escalating costs, hence we have acted on
feedback received about last year’s venue at Grimsargh
Village Hall near Longridge and have booked this venue
again. For those of you that didn’t make last year’s AGM,
the venue has great parking, is on one level and we will
have the building to ourselves for the day. And finally it’s
only several minutes from junction 31a of the M6
motorway. We will send out directions and the agenda
nearer the time.

Report by Benet Waterman
Very best wishes to all our members in Region 11:
Following the very successful General Meeting held last
November, we have a vibrant and enthusiastic committee
eager to build on and improve communication across the
region. We are keenly aware that we have a regional
membership dotted across a very widespread geographical
landscape – members will receive with this copy of
InTouch a questionnaire which we hope will receive a
goodly response enabling the committee to form a view as
30
in touch
to the degree of activity currently underway in the region
and what, if anything, we can do to facilitate more shared
involvement for those who wish it.
So, it’s over to you on that one !
As I write, it has been a beautiful and sunny, if frosty,
day up here in Cumbria. I enjoyed a very beautiful drive
over to Hexham this morning through the stunning
Northumberland countryside to join our development
group there – we gather monthly as a group of healers,
mainly members of THT or The College of Sound Healing
but also encompassing other healing activities. The group
was set up in 2009 by Healing Trust members Adele
Kinsella and Pam Down and continues to grow. It provides
sanctuary in this busy world for healers such as ourselves
who wish to share sacred space with one another.
Adele Kinsella writes of today’s gathering:
We all enjoyed an amazing and deeply relaxing Soundbath
today, where we were immersed in the beautiful sounds of
the Symphonic Gong and Nature.
Many thanks to Duncan and Helen for organising this and
to Anne, Alex, Adrienne and Christine for playing the
wonderful Crystal Bowl, Native American Flute and
Shamanic Drums.
The question arose as to the name of the musical chimes
used during the Soundbath and where we could purchase
these and other instruments, so I am providing details.

At our next gathering on 11 February, Pat Smith has kindly
offered to bring her Chakra scarves, and, through meditation,
" will be taking us on a colour adventure, for inner healing..."
Those of us who attend count ourselves richly blessed to
spend such deeply nurturing time with others in our soulfamily and we are grateful indeed that Adele opens her
home to us for our gatherings. Thank you Adele for your
loving graciousness, and well done to both you and Pam
for ‘birthing’ this wonderful initiative.
Another healers’ group is being ‘born’, as we speak, in
Northumberland near Alnwick and our ‘animal
communicators and healers’ are busy planning talks
following a lead set by member Maria Neal. Maria offered
to join, and was elected to, our regional committee at the
recent GM. Maria you are a bright and shining star –
welcome to our region! You are a wonderful example to us
of all a healer can be at their most beautiful best. Thank
you!

The Committee is planning a Conference to be held at The
North Lakes Hotel in Penrith [just off the M6 / A66] and
intends for this to offer speakers, exhibitions and
workshops. This will be a wonderful opportunity for
healers to meet and share news and views and will be
open to healers from any area – it is not region exclusive.
Very best wishes to all our members for the year ahead
– it is the committee’s hope that we can gracefully and
with spiritual generosity lay to rest any and all present
difficulties and find a peaceful harmony in our dealings
with one another as the year unfolds. We applaud Angie
Buxton-King and her fellow Trustees for their efforts to
maintain a steady focus for the organisation to which we
all belong and for which we all care deeply.
I offer my personal compliments, too, to our present
committee members who are all working hard to inform
and offer widening opportunities for members to get to
know each other and share their news and views.

Region 14 Winter Gathering Fundraiser
Students and healers from the region attended our first
fundraising social event, the ‘Winter Gathering’ in
November, proposed and organised very successfully by
Hertha Koettner Smith. It was great to meet and chat, get
to know each other, have fun, eat good food and
participate in a fundraiser for the region. The raffle and
food were the main source of income with John Gordon
Smith’s cheerful banter promoting ticket sales, which
ensured everyone got a prize! The raffle table was laden
with wonderful donations, including a magnificent
bromeliad plant, an Amethyst necklace, Paulo Coelho
Diary, a hand woven shoulder bag from a women’s
community group in Nepal and many other delights.
Food was prepared and donated by all who attended, the
generosity of all was heart-warming and for a very good
cause. Funds raised altogether amounted to £303.65
including a donation of £75. A big thank you also to
Hertha’s weekly relaxation and meditation class who raised
£230 resulting in a total of £533 raised. Thank you
Everyone!
London Region 14 AGM Saturday May 12th at 1pm
Followed by a guest speaker and refreshments.
All welcome! Fundraising Raffle with great prizes!
Please come and participate, the committee needs your

North London Healer Support Group
We would like to extend a warm welcome to you in 2012.
This group is for healers who wish to meet together to give
and receive support for their healing work. It will be of
value to those giving healing publicly, privately,
professionally and informally - at Healing Centres,
exhibitions, in clinics / complementary health practices
and at home. Meetings include sharing and group
discussion of experiences with healees / clients, and
exploration of healing issues that arise. By its nature the
group also offers the benefits of spiritual community with
like-minded people as we share our own personal healing
journeys. We also meditate together and occasionally give
and receive healing as these practices support us as
healers.
We meet once a month on Sunday afternoons. The dates
of future meetings are: 19th February, 18th March, 13th
May, 24th June, 22nd July
Please contact the facilitators:

Shepherd’s Bush
At Shepherds Bush we continue to await the outcome of
whose bid to buy the community hall we operate from will
be accepted. If the bid of a local dance school and a
families project is successful then our future should be
secured. A decision should be made before this April when
our lease runs out. Some of our healers offered healing at a
local festival for carers in Hammersmith & Fulham, and as a
result are in negotiation about providing healing on a more
regular basis for carers at a local centre.

Healing at CRISIS for Christmas
Crisis provides dedicated centres to help homeless people
with a bed, shower and food over the Christmas period. At
Crisis guests can come and go as they please taking
advantage of everything on offer. Each centre offers
different things like tailoring, board games, television, live
music, advice units and various therapies. This year there
were nine Healing Trust volunteers who worked over the
Christmas period. Guests reported improvements including
relief of pain from RSI, significant lowering of blood
pressure and lowered stress levels. Some guests had
limited English and one explained after his second visit,
‘Pain gone, bad energy gone’ and indicated that he now
had good energy.
On behalf of London Committee I would like to thank all
the Healing Trust members who volunteered. I would also
like to offer our very highest thanks to Donnie Farago, a
Healing Trust member who volunteers as a Service
Organiser responsible for coordinating all the therapist
volunteers. Donnie has done this for some years now and
the debt we all owe to her is enormous.
I always find working at Crisis very rewarding and would
encourage healers and students to give it a try, so please
get in touch to add your name to the volunteer list for next
Christmas.
Peter Spaul
The committee wishes to offer thanks to Steve Sharpe for his
many years of committed service to the NFSH and Region 14,
we send him all good wishes for the future.

When Amy met Harry…
Amy is a voluntary worker who provides us with two days per week
administrative help... she has provided enthusiastic help to Vicky in
membership and joined us in November. Here she is standing with a beautiful
photographic collage of Harry Edwards that she made and presented to
Central Office. It now hangs proudly in our reception area - thank you Amy!

What is Healing?
Healing, as the term is
used in this magazine, is
a treatment that involves
the transfer of natural
energy through the
healer to the recipient.
It promotes self-healing
by relaxing the body,
releasing tensions and
strengthening the body’s
own immune system.
Healing is natural and
non-invasive with the
intention of bringing the
recipient into a state of
balance and well-being
on all levels.
NFSH The Healing Trust
