FUND -A- PROJECT
2016
SLDM School Computer Lab
Currently, SLDM has one hard-wired computer lab with 27 student computers. This lab is used
to teach technology to all grade levels. It is also used for ISTEP testing (grades 3-8) and NWEA
testing (grades K-8). When ISTEP and NWEA tests are administered (12 weeks of the school
year), technology classes cease. Our students are missing up to 12 weeks of Technology instruction due to testing!
A new hard-wired computer lab can be used to administer ISTEP and NWEA tests, reducing the
time taken from computer class by 8 weeks. Additionally, when the new lab is not being used for
testing purposes, it can be used by classroom teachers for whole class instruction.
The estimated cost of this project is $40,000. It includes 30 new desktop computers, monitors,
and installation. If we meet our financial goal, the estimated completion date of this project is
Fall 2016.
