Dear Pastor/ Youth Leader:
!Thank you for registering for Carolina Youth Camp for 2014. We are so excited about this year’s camp and are
already praying for God to prepare the hearts of every person who attends! Enclosed, you will find some
helpful information concerning everything you need to know as you prepare your teens for camp. This packet
will make you aware of everything that we still need from you, and will include your balance that is due by
JUNE 16. Please call our office ASAP with any number changes in your roster. We have a waiting list and
would like to accommodate all who want to attend.
!We have also compiled a list of what to bring, and what not to bring. Please make sure to meet with your
campers and make them aware of all this information so they will be prepared for a great week of camp.
!PLEASE NOTE: NEW THIS YEAR!!! Awaiting each camper on the day of check-in will be their individual
"Carolina Youth Camp Survival Bag!" We have ordered each camper a really nice sport pack-backpack and
have filled it with everything he or she will need for camp this summer. This bag will include some really cool
stuff that will come in handy during camp such as their camp T-Shirt, notebook, pen, flashlight, daily info and
much more. Each bag will also have a "Camp Awanita" water bottle inside. This bottle will give them unlimited
access to soft drink refills at the camp canteen. Please inform each camper to bring $20 to purchase their
"Carolina Youth Camp Survival Bag." Or if you'd like to prepay for your campers' bags, call our office
or mail the check to our office with Survival kits and the total number of kits on the memo line.
!We will have camp nurses or EMS workers during the entire stay at camp. ALL medications must be checked
in at registration. You must accompany any teen who needs regular medication to the medical station to
administer medication. You will receive an email with further detailed information regarding medications at
camp.
!DRESS CODE: Last year, there was some confusion concerning the dress code. We understand that every
church has different standards concerning a dress code. We do not desire to be legalistic in any way, and our
main desire of the camp is to reach the hearts of these teenagers; however, there has to be a line somewhere.
We are asking you, as a group leader, to make sure each registered camper has a copy of the Code of
Conduct and Dress Code (pgs. 4-5 of registration packet).
!Our goal is to run a clean camp with a practical yet modest dress code. To help with this, and to be very clear,
we have included pictures of what is considered acceptable for camp. Use these photos to communicate with
your teenagers what they need to bring to camp. We have found that it can be embarrassing and hurtful to
campers if they come unprepared. We do not want that to happen! SO PLEASE HELP US! Be proactive and
prepare your teens for camp with this information so once we get there we can have a great time and see lives
changed!
