BÅRDAR INTERNATIONAL DANCE
THE STUDENTS
This year all the students have previously attended Bårdar Akademiets courses in either dance or
musical-dance. They have been selected because of their existing talent and skills in different
dance styles.
THE COURSE
Bårdar International focuses on professional preparation. Students undertake projects in collaboration
with Norwegian and international choreographers. The aim of the course is to develop skills in different
dance styles to a professional level and gain a clear understanding of how choreographers work in the
professional world. The students are also engaged in developing expression and character in a wide
variety of dance styles, and are even trained in singing. The students has been taught in
entrepreneurship. They have also participated in professional auditions organized by the school.
AUTUMN AND SPRING MAIN EVENTS
• Partisipation in a TV project in collaboration with Monster Productions, wich was shown at the
Norwegian National TV, NRK.
• Participated in Swinging Christmas at Chat Noir. Directed by Tom Sterri. Choreography
by Jan Ivar Lund and Kristin Berg. Produced by Taran AS
• Self-produced and -choreographed dance solo, performed in the Studio Theatre at Bårdar Akademiet.
• Collaboration with dancers and choreographers such as: Mathias Ekholm (Se.), Suzi Davies (Gb.),
Vebjørn Sundby (No.), Therese Skauge (No.), Kristin H Inao (No.), Marianne Skovly Aamodt (No.),
Chet Walker (us.), Belinda Braza (No), Victor Prag (no.), Jo Strømgren (No.), Jan Ivar Lund (No.),
Kristin Berg (No.), Huyen Huynh (No.), Henriette Olsen (No.) & Sofie Løken (No).
• The students have participated in several workshops and audition technique. The choreographers/
directors the students have worked with during these classes are: Company Sidi Larbi (Be.) held by
Dimitri Jourde. Company Accrorap (Fr.) held by Virgile Dagneaux. Pia Elton (No.), Tom Sterri (No.),
Jostein Kirkeby-Garstad (No.), and Maria Wulkan (No.).
• The students travel to London, where they work with international teachers.
• As the last performance of the year they do a major dance production. The numbers are all
choreographed by internationally respected choreographers. The show is held at
Oslo Nye Theatre / Central Theater.
