A number of important functions such as hopper seed level, fan speed, voltage and correct seed flow are monitored. Dosing fertilizer and insecticide can easily be done by laying down tramlines. This is achieved by blocking off seed flow to certain coulters in a pre-determined rhythm. This rhythm depends on the working width of the machine and the working width of the spreader or spray machine. The POLYTRONIC E offers a choice of 18 different tramline rhythms. The tramlines can be laid in either one or two working passes, depending on the situation. The tramline system is fitted with a special distributor housing which has an actuator (spindle motor) which automatically opens or closes 1 to 6 outlets. When outlets are in the closed position, seed is returned directly back into the hopper. A special pin can be supplied to allow the seeds from closed outlets to be sown in adjacent rows if required. The wheel version “W” ensures a perfectly level seed bed when used in conjunction with a ROTERRA power harrow. The coupling linkage allows the power harrow and seed drill to float up and down independently whilst in work, eliminating weight from the drill being exerted onto the roller or harrow, reducing wear and tear. The POLYMAT “W” can be linked directly to the tractor by means of an easy to fit linkage kit for use without a power harrow. With the version “P” the seed drill rest’s on a packer roller Ø500 mm. The POLYMAT “P” is linked to the ROTERRA by means of a special linkage kit. This allows the power harrow to float up and down independently of the roller and the POLYMAT. Both versions can also be combined with the MULTITERRA. Standard equipment: •Universal metering device for cereals and prilled seeds. •Output of 1.5 to 360 kg/ha (peas and beans approx. 450 kg/ha) •Central and individual coulter pressure adjustment. •Filling platform accessible from the side. •Seed coverage harrow is lifted simultaneously with the coulters, the metering wheel and the markers when turning on headlands. • Parts for linkage to the ROTERRA machines. • Hydraulic markers (with shear bolts security) • Blower driven at 1000 rpm. Ingenious linkage: The very practical construction of the POLYMAT allows it to be combined perfectly with a ROTERRA power harrow or a MULTITERRA harrow. The centre of gravity of the seed drill, in combination with a ROTERRA, is over the harrow. A unique feature is the possibility to adjust the coulter bar within the chassis. The centre of gravity can be kept as close as possible to the tractor and at the same time a optimum adjustment with the roller and/or levelling board can be created. The coupling linkage not only allows independent floating of the POLYMAT and the harrow but also ensures a strong linkage to the headstock. This prevents any weight being exerted onto the gear through assembly, reducing long term wear and tear. The POLYMAT is driven by a P.T.O. shaft coupled in a straight line from the rear of the ROTERRA’s gearbox reducing loss of power and ensuring a quiet operation. Perfect dosage and distribution: Much attention has gone in to the dosage technique and the distribution. A completely new design of metering unit suitable for all types of seed gives a complete range of application rates from 0.5 to 450 kg/ha. The metering unit is infinitely adjustable and can be adapted to the use of small seeds by means of change gears, this also allows the unit to operate at two different speeds. The seeds are dropped into the air flow and transported via a specially shaped elevation column, then distributed evenly by the distribution head, trough the tubes to each coulter. A cleaning brush is standard on this machine. Hydraulically lifted coulter bar: Very practical: the hydraulically lift able coulter bar which can be lifted by 30º. Ideal when turning on headland. This gives the coulters, the metering wheel and the following harrow an enormous ground clearance, even with a full hopper. This prevents coulter blockage. The angle and the working pressure of the following harrow can be easily adjusted to obtain the best results for each type of soil. 3 Rows of coulters: The coulter bar of the POLYMAT is fitted with three rows of coulters, this gives considerably more clearance between each coulter. Crop trash discharge’s more easily, avoiding disruptions. The central coulter tension is simply adjusted by means of an easily accessible winding handle. The coulter pressure can be adjusted individually. The metering wheel is placed between the coulters and runs evenly on the prepared seed bed. TDS coulters: For sowing after minimal soil cultivation the TDS coulters (Twin Disc System) are available as an option. These disc coulters grasp into each other ensuring that they keep on turning. They are equipped with double internal scrapers and because of their shape they do not sink too far into the soil. Markers: The markers switch from one side to the other automatically with the lifting/lowering of the coulters. Disc angle is adjustable by one bolt, a leaf spring is fitted to the marker to prevent the disc from sinking too deep in loose soils. The marker is fitted with telescopic adjustment and a shear bolt safety device. Each marker arm lifts vertically and independently if required to clear obstacles in the field, and both lift vertically for transport and turning. Practical filling platform: Filling and inspecting the hopper is assured by means of a large, easily accessible filling platform. The platform features an anti-slip deck and heavy duty steps. It is also designed to be easily manoeuvred alongside a trailer. Hydraulic coulter pressure adjustment: Hydraulic coulter pressure adjustment is available to give two different pressure settings on the coulters. This is a distinctive advantage when working in varying soil conditions. Pre-emergence markers: The pre-emergence markers make it possible to create a clearly visible tramline during sowing. The pre-emergence marker is operated automatically with the tramline system by the on board computer. A single pre-emergence marker marks off tramlines in two consecutive passes. A double pre-emergence marker makes two tramlines in one pass.
