iBreathe
Limb-O is a single tube anaesthesia
breathing circuit. Unlike co-axial
systems, the Limb-O is a divided tube,
utilising a flexible septum running
the length of the tube.
One Limb or
Light Weight
There are many advantages to this
design, which combines reduced weight
per meter and lower compressible
volume loss, with a supple feel and
drape. There is also the possible added
benefit of less torque on the patient
interface.
Less plastic means less weight and torque on the patient’s
airway management device. Limb-O weighs 34% less than
co-axial circle circuits and 25% less than traditional circle
circuits. Additionally, Limb-O uses less plastic, helping you to
reduce your hospitals waste output.**
Estimates suggest patients can lose up
to 15% of their heat because of cold,
dry anaesthetic gases.
Limb-O effectively transfers heat
from the expiratory to inspiratory side
of the circuit, helping to reduce
the patients energy demands and aiding
their ability to remain normothermic.

Thermally Efficient
Limb-O provides a net increase of 6.2 °C in the first 15 minutes
at 4 L/min flow rates on a GE anaesthesia machine. Which

When compared to other types of tubing Limb-O
has a reduction in compliance by 58% versus
co-axial tubing and 63% reduction in compliance
versus a 2 Limb circuit.
The Benefits of Limb-O
are Clear:
• Limb-O is capable of delivering a gas temperature
of approximately 29.0°C without the use of any
additional devices to provide heat. Keeping patients
warmer.
• The Limb-O circuit weighs 37% less than a co-axial
circuit reducing the drag on the patients airway.
• Limb-O has 58% less compliance due to the
presence of the septum, increasing the delivered
gas volume to the patient.

Corrugated
The simplest tube type and therefore
our most economical. Available as
standard in a lengths -1.0, 1.5, 1.8,
2.4 and 3.0 m and in 10, 15 and
22 mm diameters.
Expandable
Similar in appearance to corrugated
but designed so each segment can
collapse or expand, allowing you to
tailor the exact length of the tube
to meet your specific need. Particularly
useful if operating lists have a variety
of procedures as the tube can be
extended or contracted to offer the
right amount of drape while keeping
the operating areas tidy available as
standard in lengths 1.0, 1.5, 1.8, 2.4,
3.0 m and in 15 and 22 mm diameters.
Uni-circuit
An alternative single tube design.
Here one tube is housed inside
the other. Resulting in a neater
operating area, while keeping an
eye on budget available in lengths
1.0, 1.5, 1.8, 2.4 and 3.0 m.
Smoothbore
Smoothbore circuits come in fixed
lengths and have a smooth internal
surface with an external spiral
strengthening spine on the outside.
This means that the flow profile of
the gas is improved, in addition there
are fewer opportunities for water to
condense. When combined with a
water trap this tube design can be
ideal for low flow anaesthesia or for
non-invasive ventilation in the ICU
available as standards in lengths 0.9,
1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2.4 and 3.0 m.

Patient Spirometry from
GE Healthcare can be measured
in many applications:
• Whenever your patient is connected to a ventilator
• Whichever ventilator or anaesthesia machine you use
• Whether your patient is a newborn or an adult.
D-lite* flow sensor allows the simultaneous
measurement of airway gases, lung mechanics and
metabolism. All parameters are measured through a
single lightweight flow sensor and gas sampler, specially
developed for GE Healthcare Patient Spirometry.
The D-lite incorporates three ports – one for sidestream
gas analysis and two for pressure sensing.
When the D-lite is placed close to the patient’s airway,
it provides continuous and accurate information on
changes in the patient’s ventilatory status.
• Pedi-lite flow sensor enables measurements for
small children
• D-lite+ and Pedi-lite+ are available for humid
conditions (e.g. with active humidification)
• Spirometry tubes are available in different lengths.
The signal processing algorithm of the GE Healthcare
respiratory module is designed for the original flow
sensors only. Measurement accuracy is extremely
dependent on the dimensions of the flow sensor.
These sensors are designed and validated for the clinical
measurement by the device manufacturer. Using flow
sensors other than the device manufacturer’s is
considered off label, and is at the risk of the user.
