The West Valley Parent Teacher Organization (WVPTO) sponsors the annual Walk-a-thon to support
West Valley Elementary School. WVPTO’s goal is to foster a nurturing and caring environment that
strives for continued parent involvement in helping to build a better educational environment for our
children. We also promote a school community where teachers and administrators can do their best
work with the resources we help to provide. The Walk-a-thon raises approximately half of our annual
budget and is a critical source of income that allows us to support staff positions and offer many
quality enrichment programs. The staffing positions historically funded include physical education
and music instruction for grades K – 3, the technology clerk, additional library clerk hours, and
instructional aides. Other programs financially supported by WVPTO include assemblies, Exploration
Day, natural science and gardening programs, Project Cornerstone, emergency preparation, valet
program, teacher and room parent funds, and so much more. Thank you for supporting our school!
