awaharlal Nehru Engineering College is a premier institute of engineering that has carved a niche for itself in the field of technical education in a very short
span of time. The college has made its presence felt in the world of technical education.Unique in its structure, methods and goals, the college is strongly
rooted in the philosophy of training and research that emphasizes the relationship between knowledge and its application and seeks to promote the creation
of an ideal society. The college also provides facilities for research leading to Ph.D in selected six subjects through its Research Center. JNEC provides a congenial
atmosphere for diligent academic pursuits. This has been reflected through the results. Most of our students are among the toppers in various Engineering
disciplines. The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, which confers the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Master of
Engineering (M.E.), in various disciplines and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) as well as M.Arch., Master of Computer application & MET. JNEC is the first
college in Marathwada to have been accredited by NBA and Council of Architecture.
The foundation stone of existing JNEC building was laid by

Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College was established
in 1983 under the aegis of Mahatma Gandhi Mission
trust led by Chairman Shri Kamalkishore Kadam, who
is an IIT Engineer from Mumbai. He had also been the
Education Minister & Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra
Legislative Council.
The foundation stone of the existing JNEC building was
laid by Hon. Shri Sharad Pawar, the then Chief Minister
of Maharashtra on Nov. 14, 1985.
JNEC Environment
JNEC imparts education through healthy and indiscriminatory teaching practices. The institute aims at inculcating humanitarian values among students.
JNEC has lush green campus complemented with contemporary infrastructure.
JNEC students are self disciplined and spend more time
in the reading room of the library, it has a sitting capacity of 600 which is always full during the peak period of
the semester and examination.

The duration of course in engineering is four years & five years in Architecture, starting from July/August of every Year
Eligibility Criteria

HSC Examination (12 Standard) of Higher Secondary State Board in India
or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along
with one of Chemistry/Biotech/Biology/Technical vocational subject and
secured min.50% marks (45% incase of candidate of backward class category and person with disability belonging only to Maharashtra state.),
and qualified entrance test conducted by competent authorities.
For Architecture, Passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra
State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as a subject and secured minimum
50% aggregate marks (45% for backward class candidates from Maharashtra State only) in the HSC (Std XII) examination.
OR
Passed Diploma in under 10+3 diploma (any stream) Examination recognized by central/ state government or its equivalent examination and
secured minimum 50% aggregate marks. (45% for backward class candidates)
AND
Hold valid score at National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture for the academic year (with minimum
40% valid score.)
Lateral entry eligibility in Engineering Disciplines
Criteria 10 + 3 Diploma ( any stream) recognised by Central or State Governments with 50% aggregate marks.
Assessment
The Students are assessed through class tests conducted by departments,
work assigned to them in the form of term work and final theory, and
practical examinations conducted by the Dr. Bababsaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
Fee Structure
The Interim tuition fees for the academic year 2015-2016 is Rs. 87,500/- +
3000 Deposite as per the norms of Shikshan Shulka Samiti. This year the
fee structure will be as per the declaration of the Shikshan Shulka Samiti.
Prevention of Ragging

The aim of establishing the central computing infrastructure is to provide computing & internet facility
to the whole campus and to support students in their
project work, seminars & presentations. It is responsible for the campus Data maintenance, ERP record

DVDs and also Desktop Publishing.
Introduction
The Central Computer Centre is fully air conditioned
and distraction free. The Lab has 200 latest configuration computers with 19” LED TFT monitors and comfortable seating arrangement for students & staff. The
computers are connected to high end manageable
switches (L2 & L3) which are behind secured Firewall.
It has fully generator backup solution to avoid power
cuts & failure. The Lab is secured with 16 CCTV cameras located at various locations. Two projectors with
wireless Public Addressing system are installed for

within the Central Computer Centre which has 12

THE SPORTS FACILITIES
Aim of the Facilities
The sports facility is an integral part of educational activity to keep students physically
and mentally healthy for this, MGM has established huge sports complex with indoor
and outdoor game facilities. The total area of
sports complex is 97400 sq. m. out of which
sports building area is 2151.61 sq. m. and
area of courts is 18793.66 sq. M.
Membership
All the staff members are the members of
sports club.
All the staff members of MGM institution can
avail the facilities in the sports complex without any charge.
The members can avail the facility and can
only bear the expenses of consumables at
their own cost or can bring their own kits.

JNEC Alumni Association, the third pillar
JNEC Alumni Association is one of the biggest
strength of JNEC. Some alumni are working in
various countries like USA, UK, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan,
Dubai and other South East part of Asia. Obviously JNEC alumni are working in every state
of India Kashmir to Tamilnadu and Gujarat to
Tripura. More than that, one of our Alumnus
Commander Mangal Kakkad was the part of
Antarctica expedition also.
Many of them are working in Premier Engineering, Electronics, Chemical, Software,
Construction, Pharmaceuticals, Finance and
Defense industries in private and public sector. Some of them are on key positions in Research and Development, Design, Manufacturing, Marketing, HRD, Quality Assurance,
Maintenance and Finance sectors. We are
proud to mention our Alumnus Dr. Swapneshu
Baser who was faculty member at IIT Bombay.
About Half a Dozen JNEC alumni are Heading
the Engineering Colleges and Institutions.
Our alumni are working in prestigious institutions like NASA, ISRO, Indian Army, Navy and
Air force. Many of them have completed post
graduation from IIT, IIM.
JNEC alumnus and Managing Director of Jaypee Power Ventures Ltd Mr. Suren Jain has taken
noble initiative to form JNEC Corpus Fund. He and his better half Mrs. Anjali Jain (Who is also a
JNEC alumnus) leading from front announced to contribute Rs. 25 lakhs to start this fund. This
is first of its kind initiative in this type of institution in the state. JNEC Corpus Fund will support
needy students for their expenses with defined guidelines. As on today Rs. 26, 25,000 are committed by JNEC alumni for the proposed JNEC Corpus Fund. On behalf of MGM-JNEC management former Principal and Trustee Mr. Pratap Borade has announced that, “Once all formalities
related to the proposed fund are completed the management will take appropriate decision to
contribute significant amount to this fund.” It is proposed by Mr. Suren Jain that one committee consisting representative of MGM-JNEC management, principal, teacher representatives,
alumni representatives and one or two coopted members will be given authority for utilization
of this fund as per the guidelines defined. JNEC Corpus Fund expected to take shape in short
period and will be a great support to needy students learning in JNEC. Alumni Coordinator Prof.
Dr. Abhay Kulkarni is hopeful for commitment up to Rupees One Crore for the JNEC Corpus Fund
in near future.

There are Entrepreneurs like Mr. Shrikant Badve
who received two times awards at the hands of
President of India and once at the hands of Prime
Minister for contribution in respective field. JNEC
girls alumni are not behind but making great contribution in their respective fields. Some of the
alumni are also contributing in fields of journalism, literature, sports and performing arts.
One of the notable thing is that the alumni share
a cordial rapport with JNEC and are contributing in various modes and initiatives for the JNEC
students. Placements, In-plant Trainings, Industrial visits, Lecture talks, Sponsoring the needy
students, Special Trainings, Sharing Experiences,
Sponsoring Projects , Providing special facilities
, Guidance and counseling are some of these
initiatives. Truly JNEC alumni association is working as strong driving force for the betterment of
JNEC students.
Recently Alumni meet for first five batches was
arranged on campus. Around 50 percent of first
five batches alumni attended the meet with family members. Some of the proposed initiatives
discussed during the meet are as follows.
• Buying special recreational tools for student
hostels like Billiards/snooker table, LCD TV
etc.
• Developing a good library in the Hostels.
• Subscribing for digital data bank/technical
literature for institute library to help in Literature/patent search for students

• Sponsoring partly to JNEC students and staff
for presenting papers at conferences/participating in technical competitions etc.
• Buying of some special tools like very powerful computational facility / Wi-Fi hardware
etc in the campus that can be useful to all

• Awarding scholarships in the form of books,
other expenses apart from fees to economically backward students .
In addition to official alumni meets there are frequent informal alumni meets in various part of
the countries and overseas also. Through social
networking sites most of the alumni have day to
day contact with each other and with their Alma
mater.
Today JNEC alumni association is emerged as third
pillar along with previous to pillars i.e.Students
and Staff.
In the beginning of this academic year, an Alumni Entrepreneur meet was arranged in Einstein
Hall so as to induce Entrepreneurial awareness
among the students. Alumni shared their journey
of an Entrepreneur. An exhibition of their creativity as witness of their success was also displayed.
Campus was also been conducted by them.
An alumni meet was organized at Gulmohar club
New Delhi for alumni residing Delhi NCR in Sept.
2012. Around 150 alumni with spouse attended
the occasion, an evening get together, sharing,
interacting success stories in presence of beloved
trustee and former principal Shri Pratap Borade.

• The student council memebers celebrated Marathi Din and a club has been
formed to promote Marathi language.

I (J.N.E.C Chapter)
Activities:
Food Grain Donation To Navjeevan
Navjeevan is a school for mentally retarded students. JNEC’s
NSS Unit has adopted this school.NSS Unit donated grains
and other eatables to this school by organizing various food
grains collection and donation programs in JNEC campus
every month.
Other Donations
• Daily usable things donated to Matoshri Vridhashram.
• Clothes donation to SNEHALAY (AIDS rehabilitation
center and orphanage).
Special activities of year 2014-15
A] Voting Awareness
NSS unit has arranged a rally for voting awareness. In this
rally students went to various public places and awared people about the importance of voting by mouth publicity and
with various posters and banners.
B] A social approach of Valentines’ week celebration
• Chocolate day celebration: Members of NSS unit went
to Lilium school of deaf and dumb girls and gave cadburies to them and celebrated Chocolate day with them.
• Rose day celebration: On Rose day NSS unit members
gave roses to traffic police, drivers and conductors of ST
buses, public police and celebrated the day with them.
• Valentines’ day celebration: Members of NSS unit celebrated the day with old people of Matoshri Vridhashram. They gave them sweets and spent time with them.
C] Holi Celebration at Snehalay
This year NSS unit celebrated Holi with people of Snehalay
organization. This was the best celebration of Holi we ever
had. Children of Snehalay made this more special. They
danced with members of NSS unit, they played different
games with us and enjoyed a lot.
D] A grand meeting with Hon. Mr. Sharad Pawar
NSS unit members had arranged a meeting with
Hon. Mr. Sharad Pawar at Baramati in March
2015. The intension behind this meeting was to
have interaction with such a great politician, to
know about his life, to learn some different qualities from him and specially to know that apart
from our career how to become a good person in
the society.
E] Visit to KVK, Baramati
Apart from social visits, NSS unit of JNEC also arranges educational tours and visits. Visit to Krishi
Vidnyan Kendra (KVK) of Baramati in March 2015
was one of these activities. At KVK, members of
NSS unit learned about advanced technologies of
farming and proximate developments in the field
of agriculture.
F] Blood donation camps
NSS unit of JNEC regularly arranges blood donation camps in the college. This year more than 350
students and 40 staff donated blood in various
camps organized by the unit.
G] Rakshabandhan at Navjeevan
Eversy year members of NSS unit celebrate
Rakshabandhan with the students of Navjeevan.
They celebrate this festival by giving sweets to
these students. Girls of that school tied the Rakhi
traditionally to the boys of NSS unit and girls of
NSS unit tied Rakhi to the boys of that school.
H] INNOVA-Creating Best out of Waste
NSS unit of JNEC had arranged a competition
named INNOVA-Creating Best out of Waste. In
this competition participants created various useful things from the waste available in the nearby
campus of the college. The motto behind organ-
izing this competition was to develop different
techniques of destroying waste and to make the
students think about it.
Beyond these activities, NSS unit also arranged
following activities:
1. Cleanliness program,
2. Tree plantation,
3. Eye checkup camp,
4. Blood checkup camp,
5. Lecture talks, etc.
3. Visits
NSS Unit regularly visits different places, then it
may be a historic place or a social organization.
The unit has visited different forts like Devgiri,
Rajgarh, Rayghar, Bahadurgad, Sinhagad and Social organizations like Snehalay, Navjeevan, Aapla
Ghar, Matoshri Vridhashram.
SPECIAL VISIT
Dhadak Mohim (MELGHAT)
22 members (19 boys & 3 girls) of NSS unit have
attended the Dhadak Mohim at Melghat arranged
by Maitri organization. Under this, they went to
the villages of Melghat and took care of the children and people over there. They stayed there in
different villages for 10 days. They got to know the
problems of the villagers and that locality. They
also enjoyed the nature and the rainy atmosphere
of Melghat.
RESIDENTIAL CAMP
Camp at Cilati,Melghat
As per every year, in 2014-15 also NSS unit has
organized a residential camp of 7 days (24th Jan31st Jan) at Chilati,Melghat. Members of NSS
unit stayed at Chilati but worked in nearby 3 villages. They also spent some time with the villag-
ers, learned their culture and enjoyed with them.
Those 7 days were well planned for various activities such as• Digging of Soak pits.
• Digging of pits for natural fertilizers.
• Awareness programs for villagers.
• Education through games for children.
• Interaction with villagers.

with the Et Laudiblis Delegate’s Silver Medal.

at Seoul, South Korea as a delegate from India
representing in the Disarmament & International Security Council (DISEC).The Agenda for

The Interim tuition fees for the academic year 2015-2016 is Rs.
