I forgot to put it on the list. You should have received notice by now of the Zonta District 6 Fall Conference to be held October 9-‐11 at the Marriott Hotel in Normal. If you have not received it, you can go to http://zontadistrict6.org website to register. The registration fee for first timers to the Fall Conference is $75! That is a great price and I encourage you to attend if possible. Whenever you get the chance, take a look at the district website and Zonta International’s website as well -‐www.zonta.org. Both websites have information that is pertinent to you as a member of Zonta. I would also like to congratulate Zonta Club member, Tricia Simpson, this year’s Athena Award recipient. I would like to encourage members to attend the Joliet Chamber’s award luncheon on Wednesday, September 9th. Reservations must be made through the Chamber by September 3rd. The Fellowship Committee has something fun in store for us in September. I can’t wait to see what everyone brings in and the stories that go along with the items. See you September 8th! I was asked to join The Zonta Club of Lansing Michigan in 1975 shortly after I was promoted to the Director of Ingham County Department of Social Service. I was president of Zonta Club of Lansing in 1982. I began my career as a caseworker and progressed through the supervisory levels to the first woman to be appointed to Ingham County Director. In 1973 I was promoted to Zone Manager in Michigan Department of Social Service Later I was promoted to Area Manager with field supervision for 43 counties. I was the first woman to reach the 19th level in civil service. I was married in 1953 to my childhood sweetheart, Albert Reinhart Jr. We were blessed with two daughters Debra and Sharon. Sadly, Sharon died in 1997. I have two grandchildren who reside in Michigan. I was married to Al for 50 years. I remarried in 2007 to Roland Krowlek, originally from Wasburn, Il. He died in 2010. My daughter Debra lives in Plainfield, thus the reason I moved from the Villages Florida to be near my family. I am a native of West Virginia. I grew up in Morgantown, literally on campus of WVU. My mother kept students for over 50 years. I graduated from WVU in 1953. Hobbies/Interests / Other Club Affiliations: Previously golf & bowling; currently cards and volunteer work. In the past I was also a member of the Lions & Kiwanis club. I am currently a member of St Johns Lutheran Church in Joliet I became involved in Zonta when members of the membership committee of the Zonta Club of Lansing invited me to lunch and I was asked to join, which I did. What I like about Zonta is the opportunity to raise funds for international and local service projects and the opportunity to attend International Conventions and meet outstanding women from all over the world. Members need to go to International Convention to really get the full impact of services we support. The many friends you make are forever. I am pleased to continue my Zonta membership into my senior years and hope I can be of meaningful service to our club. 4 Zonta District 6 Fall Conference CALLING ALL ZONTIANS OF THE JOLIET CLUB Call to District 6 Fall Conference – Oct. 9 – 11, 2015 Marriott Bloomington-‐Normal Hotel & Conference Center, Normal , IL Zonta District 6; Area 5 clubs are h osting the District 6 Fall Conference.
