The Executive Committeehas met on four occasions during the year
a n d I h a v e b e e n g r a t i fi e d a t t h e c o n s i s t a n t l yh i g h n u m b e ro f m e m b e r sw h o
m a k e t h e e f f o r t t o a t t e n d ,s o m e t i m e sc o m i n g i n f r o m l o n g d i s t a n c e s . W h i l e
i n v e s t i g a t i n ga l l t h o s e m a t t e r sw h i c h a r e b r o u g h tt o o u r n o t i c e f r o m w i t h i n
the county, our more strategic aims have now been movedfrom the issue
concernedwith the siting of the Third Airport and directed to those schemes
which come to our attention on the subject of new motorwaysplannedto
cross some part of our county. On this importantmatter I would like to

The year under review has not been quite so busy for your Technical
Off icers as in the previous year. We have nevertheless had some thirty
problemswhich have been investigatedand dealt with, most of them

At the request of local residents we were asked to investigate a proposal,
informal at that stage, to develop for residential purposesan area of parkland
known as The Grove, Finedonand tosupport them in their opposition thereto.
