– Can be integrated through Bentley ProjectWise with

BESM Overview
• Bentley Engineered Support Modeler (BESM) is an
application currently in development to provide for the design
and modeling of supports for piping, structural, electrical and
HVAC components.
• BESM has the primary goal of replicating the support design
process in it’s entirety by enabling the modeling of several
categories of support objects
– Support Placeholders
– Pipe Attachments
– Structure/Steel Attachments
– Auxiliary Items
– Supplemental Steel
BESM Functionality
• BESM has the concept of a Project Briefcase for storing the
meta and reference data for the application in a single
location.
• The BESM database includes user logins to separate user
and administration rights in the application

• The Project Dashboard has different views based on the user
or administrator.
• The user can view the catalog information in the database
and the administrator has the rights to modify that information
