WELCOME TO MONSTER FEST
In 2011 Monster Pictures and Cinema Nova
launched the Fantastic Asia Film festival (FAFF),
a four-day-long celebration of all that is cool and
nasty in Asian genre cinema. This year we’ve
decided to expand the concept to a larger, more
imposing beast of a festival; Monster Fest!
Monster Fest is exactly what it says, a monster
of a Fest! Twenty-four glorious genre films
screened over ten sizzling evenings. These films
are the culmination of a year spent searching
the globe for the best, most deranged cinema,
old and new. From the incredible Halloween
night opening film, THE ABCs OF DEATH, right
through to the closing night film, AMERICAN
MARY, you’re going to squirm, squeal and squawk
like some crazed kid in a deranged lolly shop!
Yes, Monster Fest is about movies but it is also
about guests – from 80’s legends Larry Cohen
and Laurene Landon, to rising horror superstars
Jen and Sylvia Soska... to the horror hostess
with the most-ess, ELVIRA! That’s right people
you read it right – The Mistress of the Dark is
coming to town, and whether you’re dead or alive,
you must be there to MEET HER IN PERSON at
the Monster Fest special event ‘THE NIGHT OF
THE WOMEN’ – a night NOT TO BE MISSED!
Monster Fest is about extraordinary premieres,
timeless retro gems, awe-inspiring guests,
astounding events and kick-arse parties – it’s
about fiendish fun and frolic for the morally
challenged! It’s about YOU getting out and LIVING
IT LARGE with films that are LARGER THAN LIFE!

his latest. Twenty-minute short, THE
BIG GUN, has two brothers finding
themselves forced to build a bizarre
custom gun for a criminal organization.
