BORN OUT OF EXTREMES - MISSION EVEREST
Conventional wisdom says that technology has
tamed the elements and removed risk from almost
every human activity. In early 2007 Parajet turned
conventional wisdom on its head. The aim, to pit
two pilots against the forces of nature with a mission
to be the first to fly to a height above the summit
of the world’s highest mountain using paramotors
and reaching what explorers call the ‘ceiling of the
impossible’.
On the 14 May 2007 Gilo Cardozo and TV survivalist
Bear Grylls took off from the foothills of the high
Himalaya, some 20 miles south of Everest in eastern
Nepal. Once airborne, the intrepid pair flew north,
over glaciers, towards Mount Everest. Once south of
the infamous Nuptse Wall, a sheer ice and rock face
that soars eight thousand feet high, the pilots began
to circle and ascend towards their target altitude,
achieving a world-record of 29,494ft.
Born out of extremes, the Cyclone range builds on the
success of Mission Everest.

A strong yet ultra-lightweight hightension aluminium chassis helps
improve power-to-weight ratio for
enhanced ground handling and inflight manoeuvrability. Wide profile
chassis uprights and laser-cut engine
mounts provide unmatched rigidity
and the highest strength-to-weight

Each component has been design and
manufactured in-house to exacting
standards using the latest CNC machine
centres and tube forming technology.

and small batch production ensures

All alloy components are electroanodised for protection from the
elements, providing a hardwearing
and tactile finish. Airframes are triple
coated with the toughest metallic
powder coating with a final lacquered
coat to enhance surface finish.

The lightweight, ‘aerofoil’ aluminium
cage provides high strength and
superior airflow. Its aerodynamic
styling being completely unique to
Parajet. Consisting of 3 main sections
which plug together to make a rigid
protective structure, the frame has
been purpose designed for ease of
assembly and transportation.
Designed,
manufactured

stringently tested in-house, our
carbon intake silencers reduce
mechanical engine noise and air intake
pulse wave resonance significantly.
Aerodynamically shaped to increase
airflow into the engine, this design is
DULV certified.
The immensely hardwearing throttle
combines low profile start/stop
diaphram switches, a cruise lock
and smooth action trigger into an
ergonomic,
lightweight
control
system. Nothing in the industry comes
close for shear ease of use, quality and
design.
The ergonomic weight-shift harness
gives the combination of maximum
comfort and handling. Manufactured
from aluminium billet for high strength
and rigidity, the weight-shift harness
arms have connection points located
around the pilots center of gravity
making it the safest and most dynamic
type of harness to fly.

To push the limits of extreme-altitude flying Parajet
developed a paramotor with a revolutionary rotary
engine. To enable the engine to function at such
extreme altitudes, where the atmospheric pressure
and oxygen levels are four times lower than at sea
level, a dual-fuel injector system was developed which
senses atmospheric pressure and compensates for
the lack of oxygen by injecting precisely measured
fuel. This daring feat – successfully completed by Gilo
Cardozo and TV survivalist Bear Grylls – captured the
imagination of the world.
