Forsyth Country Day Men’s Fall Golf Classic
Last week’s rain held off just long enough at
Bermuda Run last Wednesday to allow players
to enjoy the men’s FCDS Fall Golf Classic.
Sixteen teams competed in the morning
round, and the mighty Mercedes-Benz foursome
of David Neill, Tim Cooper, Pat Rearden, and
Joe Dillon had the winning score.
The BB&T team of Jonathan Cochrane,
Charlie Williams, Tom Barrett, and Mike Dillon
tied Jimmy Dew, Mike Dew, David Bowman,
and Norris Baker for second place in the morning round.
Golfers also had the opportunity to win some wonderful prizes. Todd Gentry
of Modern Automotive won
the use of an RV for a weekend from Jeff Plemmons’

Storytelling Festival Welcomes Connie Regan-Blake
Connie Regan-Blake, one of America’s most celebrated storytellers, will perform
in the Forsyth Country Day School auditorium on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7:00 p.m.
The general public is welcome to attend.
Ms. Regan-Blake has entertained audiences in 47 states and 16 countries with her
powerful performances and workshops. She has been featured on seven awardwinning recordings—five audio and two videos produced by PBS. She has also been
a guest on NPR’s All Things Considered, ABC’s Good Morning, America, and CNN.

ners-up—FCDS fathers Brad Bryson, Ken
Shaw, Brian Nason, and Excalibur Awards
owner Al Cheek—may have placed second,
but they offered some of the most exciting
play of the tournament.
Brian Nason, father of third grader William, made a hole-in-one on the eighth from
135 yards with an eight iron, handily winning the use of a BMW for a weekend. He
followed up by winning a weekend with an
RV from Jeff Plemmons RV Superstore of
Mocksville. Other afternoon prizewinners
were James Connelly of Dixon Hughes, who
won a golf bag for the longest putt made, and
Joe Dillon, who won the closest to the pin on
the fourth hole. Gregg Clark of Hartley Ready
Mix was the final closest-to-the-pin winner and
won a weekend with a Honda from Flow
Honda.
“We are very happy to support
the FCDS community and the students through this sponsorship of

the golf tournament,”
said tournament title
sponsor Jeff Plemmons. “Our relationship with
the school over the years has been one that we
cherish for many reasons, and we look forward
to continuing to support the school in the future.”
Special thanks go to tournament chairs Joe Dillon and Jimmy
Strickland, and to
1986 alumnus and
current parent Gray
Angell and Bermuda Village Retirement Community for providing
both the venue and
lunch for the tournament. We’d also
like to thank MAP Director Kristen
Ring, Renee Foust and Rosalie Bland
of the Development Office, and the
staff of Bermuda Run West for their
help with this year’s tournament.
Further, additional thanks go to
Champion for supplying pullovers
for each golfer.

*NEW CLASS!
Grades 5-8 Acting Workshop: Developing a Character
A new class has been added to the CSA class offering for middle school students! Our middle school acting workshop will be
taught by Ibby Meads, a very talented acting coach and actress
will teach an acting workshop after school. Ms. Meads has been
in the industry for more than 20 years and has appeared on
television soap operas, film, commercials, and on stage.
This 10-week workshop will focus on building a character from
both “the outside in” as well as “the inside out” using voice,
movement, and mind. Rather than showcasing talent (no performance this session) the actors will be asked to explore,
stretch, and challenge themselves in a safe and nonjudgmental
atmosphere. Come bring your imagination and let’s have fun
while we learn different techniques to discover many of the
various characters within you through theatre games and improvisation.
