2015 Annual Report - Pretend City Children`s Museum
2015 Annual Report Pretend City Children’s Museum Letter from the Chair Childhood doesn’t get a second chance. We know the most important learning in a child’s life happens during the first eight years. That’s where Pretend City Children’s Museum steps in. Research shows that every competency important to school success is enhanced by play, and Pretend City uses play to ignite a love of learning in young children better than anyone. As you see the highlights from the past year, you’ll understand the power of play. You have helped us to harness the power of play and jump start the next generation. Our impact in the lives of children and their families would not be possible without the generous support of our donors, volunteers, members and other supporters. From our day-to-day operations to our exciting vision for change, we rely on the power of giving. Thank you for helping us not only create exceptional play opportunities for children, but also for helping us empower parents to do the same. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who donate funds, time, expertise and passion to helping us spark children’s learning through play. Sincerely, Duleep Rodrigo, Chairman of the Board Pretend City Children’s Museum is a community which builds better brains through fun, whole body learning experiences and empowers children and their grown ups to meaningfully connect with and expand their world Noon Year’s Eve Celebration, 12/31/15 196,015 Guests in 2015 Developing and Discovering Diversity Through a grant from the Capital Groups, the Our Home and Pretend Café exhibits highlight cultures through cultural food and family life.
