Weinberg Paxton Whitehead Lenny Wolpe Gingold Theatrical Group seeks a full-time General Manager - 40 hours per week and events. Gingold Theatrical Group is dedicated to presenting works about Human Rights using the precepts of George Bernard Shaw as our platform. Our goal is to carve a permanent niche for the work of George Bernard Shaw within the social and cultural life of New York by bringing his canon and precepts to larger audiences while encouraging individuals to breathe these humanist ideals into their contributions for the future. Now in our tenth year, GTG presents Shaw’s plays in performance, sponsors symposiums and educational programs, commissions new plays, and reaches out to the community at large to encourage all people to embrace these fundamental values. The General Manager is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day business management for Gingold Theatrical Group and for ensuring that the tasks are properly carried out. You would report directly to the GTG Founding Artistic Director, and to the Board of Directors on all financial matters. This includes attending all GTG events and supervising all aspects of the growing business as described below: Financial / Contract Management • Set and manage the organization’s operating budget and project budgets • Maintain financial management systems (paper and electronic files and accounts) • Work with Accountant to prepare annual financial audits • Work with Founding Artistic Director & Accountant to protect GTG’s charitable status by ensuring compliance with appropriate government charities regulations • Reconcile all banking, manage payroll and accounts payable and receivable • Review and prepare any vendor or other legal contracts for signature including monthly venue rental agreement Fundraising • Serve as initial contact for donors • Manage and maintain database • Process contributions, handle major donor ticket requests, oversee benefit fulfillment for individual donors and institutional funders • Generate reports and provide data analysis, including mailing/call lists for communication with funders and donors • Work collaboratively with the Founding Artistic Director to develop content for development correspondence including letters, solicitations, emails • Research prospective individual and corporate donors, foundations and other grantors • Work collaboratively with the Founding Artistic Director to prepare all grant applications and follow-up reports Administration & General • Update and maintain calendar of cultivation and solicitation activities including major grant deadlines, board meetings, performances and special events • Attend Board meetings, create meeting agendas with Founding Artistic Director, prepare budgets and financial info for meetings • Maintain files (paper and electronic) on all company activities • Work with Insurance Brokers to maintain and update insurance plans • Liaise with Board of Directors and Artistic Council as needed • Manage and general communication with vendors, staff, volunteers, interns, and audience • Website and Social Media upkeep 520 Eighth Avenue #304 New York, New York 10018 212-355-7823 www.gingoldgroup.org
