In the first months of life, the play is like a voyage of discovery in a new world, where your
child, learns using the senses by observing, listening and touching. The play is a tool that enables
infants to develop awareness of themselves and the world around them. Therefore it is important to provide them with a range of different stimuli, that can represent a surprise, because
it is through surprise that children acquire new methods of relating to the outside world.

Developing the senses with the right stimuli
Learning by playing
Touch
During pregnancy, touch is one of the most intensely-stimulated senses. The child is completely
immersed in the amniotic fluid, and so the entire body receives pleasant stimulation. It is important that from the earliest weeks of life, children continue to receive the stimuli they were accustomed in the womb, thus creating a little world around them, helping them to refine their sense
of touch. This isactually the sense that enables your child to
develop skills in memory and an understanding of the
cause-effect principle. In the first three months of life,
motor activity is rather limited, but the infant immediately possesses the inborn “grasping” reflex, gripping objects in his or her hand, enabling baby to
perceive different types of tactile stimuli. For this
reason, Brevi’s products are made with soft,
non-allergenic materials that are pleasant
to touch and embrace. The objects become
the child’s little friends right from the earliest
months, because they transmit sensations of reassurance and warmth. Your child will become

Hearing
Your child’s capability of listening to and recognizing sounds develops well before
birth. After birth, sounds are very important for encouraging infants’ earliest
movements. Already between the fourth and sixth week, they begin answering
to sounds by smiling and showing their happiness. From the sixth week, they
try to look for the sources of sound, turning their head towards them. Later,
sounds become a stimulus invoking the rhythmic movement of the body.
Sounds are also indispensable for the development of curiosity, concentration and language. It is important that your child receives a range of
different audio stimuli according to the situation that baby is experiencing.
Brevi’s soft toys incorporate gentle melodies and lullabies that calm infants before they fall asleep. They represent a reassuring ritual when they
are crying, and they produce more lively sounds to entertain and attract
their interest during play, travel or walking, such as rattles, trills or squeaks.
Sight
During the earliest months of life, your child can only focus on objects 20-30 cm
away, while the rest of the world is blurred. To improve infants’ visual skills, it is
important to place some colourful toys just a short distance away, so that they
attempt to follow their movements or sound, reinforcing their tiny ocular muscles. In the first months of life, your child’s use of sight is limited to objects
swinging just a short distance in front. As the sense of sight develops, at the age
of about three months, baby will see clearly at a distance of about a metre, distinguishing shapes and colours, and will try to grip the toy. In addition, over
the course of these months, the child will begin touching, feeling and pulling,
improving the use of the hands and coordination between eyes and hands
Relational development
Between the ages of 4 and 12 months, all infants choose a favourite soft toy that becomes very important for them,
because it becomes their first friend and their companion in all their adventures. Your child identifies with this
soft toy, called a “transitional” object, a way of obtaining company, warmth and contact. This link helps the child
in the process of growth and development, enabling baby to experience a relation of affection, mirroring the

All Brevi’s Baby Rockers have a padded seat and back, to ensure that your child is given optimum comfort.
It is made even more practical by a simple device that enables the seat and back to be adjusted to many positions independently. This helps you to find the most comfortable position for playing, sleeping or feeding.
You may find it useful to use the baby rocker to enable your child to rest after his or her milk, giving baby time
to digest before lying him or her down in the cot. Or you can use the bouncing function (by means of the retractable feet) and the toys hanging from the crossbar, which have a lulling and calming effect when baby
doesn't want to eat, or stay in his room on his own. A baby rocker also enables you to keep your child in a

In order to adapt to the child’s growth, Giocagiro
can be adjusted to three heights. Maximum
safety is ensured by an anti-slip mechanism
at front and back which blocks the movement
of the walker near a staircase.
To help your child during his or her first “expeditions” and to facilitate changes in direction, Giocagiro is fitted with two swivelling
wheels, and it is very light. To protect wall corners and domestic furniture, it has a shock-absorbing edge. The seat comes with a
