Tribal Traditions NOVEMBER: Step into the lives of the Choctaw, Creek, Cherokee, and Chickasaw peoples as you discover traditional Southeastern ways of life. Reservation Checklist We will need the following information for ALL GROUPS requesting to book field trips: Date and Time: K-5th: Monday-Thursday, 9:15-10:30, 10:45-noon, or 12:30-1:45 Pre-K: Friday, 9:15-10:15, or 10:45-11:45. Basic Field Trip, Focused Field Trip, or Dynamic Demonstration Number of Students: Notify CHOM immediately if you have any changes. Groups arriving with fewer students than confirmed will be charged for their original reservations. Groups arriving with more students than originally confirmed will be charged for those admissions upon entrance. Be aware that extra space in programs is not guaranteed. Number of Chaperones (required number plus extra, paying chaperones) Plan for one chaperone for every ten children. Make chaperones aware of museum rules before arriving. Chaperones must stay with their group at all times. If chaperones/teachers fail to handle disruptive students, these MONEY SAVERS Flip-Flop Fun (K-5th) students will be removed from the group. Unsafe and undesirable behavior will result in visit termination. If your group arrives with a large number of A Flip-Flop is a 2 hour and 45 minute trip that combines a either a Focused Field Trip or Dynamic Demonstration with a Basic Field Trip. Children’s Hands-On Museum of Tuscaloosa DAYS and HOURS After contacting a CHOM staff person, you will receive a confirmation reservation agreement. Your reservation will not be finalized until your agreement is signed by all parties and received by CHOM by the date specified MON—THURS…………...…..9 a.m.—5 p.m. FRIDAY…………………...9 a.m.—7:30 p.m. SATURDAY………….……...10 a.m.—4 p.m. CLOSED SUNDAYS & ALL MAJOR HOLIDAYS ADMISSION Discounted rates apply to groups of 10 students or more. Reservations must be made in advance to qualify for group rates. Rates apply to children and adult chaperones. If you book for multiple classes, individual teacher names will be required, and each teacher will be asked to sign & return reservation agreements accepting responsibility for trip arrangements, including payment responsibilities. A deposit of $3 per person is due 30 DAYS PRIOR to your visit. The remaining balance is due no later than the day of your visit. Providing the best field trip means guaranteeing the materials for your group, as well as enough museum staff to deliver your program. All field trips require set up time, special materials purchased in advance, and extra personnel to deliver your program. Therefore, a nonrefundable deposit is required 30 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR VISIT. * IF YOUR DEPOSIT IS NOT PAID ON TIME, YOUR FIELD TRIP WILL BE CANCELLED. *All cancellations must be made at least 30 days in advance of the trip. Groups who cancel less than 30 days in advance forfeit their deposit. If we are able to reschedule, the deposit may be applied to a new date. If you do not arrive for your scheduled visit, you will be invoiced for the remaining BALANCE DUE. REMEMBER: » NO OUTSIDE FOOD or DRINK is allowed in the museum. » Guests with large bags will be asked to open them upon admission, and may be directed to leave bags in lockers at the front.
