As I set here in the office working towards completion of this
month’s issue Andy “The Rodfather” Brizio and Goodguys founder Gary
Meadors are leading what will be Andy’s last tour across country.
Andy is currently 80 years old making his first trip across country
in 1970 when he cruised to a show in Peoria, Illinois. Then he was driving his AMBR winning ’23 Ford T bucket. Andy certainly drives his vehicles and has made more than 2 dozen trips in a variety of hot rods, this
final trip will be in a flaming purple ’32 Ford hiboy roadster built by his
son Roy Brizio. He has been making these trips in this hot rod for the last
twenty years!
The official start of the tour left Friday September 14th from Wendover, Utah at The Bonneville Salt Flats and will be ending up in Indianapolis, Indiana for a Goodguys show there. Keep in mind these guys actually
started earlier in the week from Goodguys headquarters in Pleasanton,
California.
100 hot rodders of all experience levels (on long cross country road
tours) are currently in the pack lead by Brizio and Meadors. As I’ve been following the tour from my office here at WMM headquarters, I dream of the day when I take my first cross country cruise in
whatever I happen to be driving at the time. I’ve made 3 (about to be 4)
cruises to The Texas Motor Speedway in my ’67 Imapla SS, this is just a
drop in the bucket to what Andy has accomplished over the last 40 years. As the Goodguys saying goes “Ya Gotta Drive em”. I truly believe that and I enjoy every mile I put on my ride and I hope you do too! WMM

Bench Racing
Bench Racing is defined in several different ways. The urban dictionary defines Bench Racing as:
1. To discuss quarter mile elapsed time of a car based on a list of modifications or horsepower estimate.
2. To discuss the estimated output (in horsepower) of one engine versus another based on lists of modifications
done to each engine.
3. To discuss the estimated output (in horsepower) of one engine versus another based on lists of modifications
done to each engine.
While I do agree with the Urban Dictionary’s definition of Bench Racing, Bench Racing in the context of this
section of the magaine will be defined as:
Subscribe to Wolf Motorsports Magazine?
1. Discussion of ANYTHING automobile related between at least two individuals with the goal of passing
time at a car show, sharing automotive related ideas, opinions or entertaining themselves or others.

Professional Pro Stock Drag Racing…..
2012 has been a good year for The Full Throttle Drag Racing Series specifically in the
Pro Stock ranks. Erica Enders was the first female diver to win a “Wally” in Pro Stock. She
makes history at Route 66 Dragway in Joliet, Illinois on July 1st with her first win. Erica’s winning run was 6.627 at 207 mph.
Erica then went on to win in Brainerd, Minnesota, followed by another win in Seattle
where Erica put the smack down on four time Champion Greg Anderson who she’s been trying to beat for years. This event (Seattle) also made history, the first time two female drivers
won awards in their respective classes at the same event. The other history maker in Seattle was
when Courtney Force won her first ever race in Top Fuel Funny Car.
Enders and Force once again make history at the race in Indy as they both qualify for the
number one spot in their respective classes. This was her second time to qualify number one
for the season and fifth in her career and she did it with a 6.55 at 210.80 in her Chevrolet Cobalt!
Earlier in the season at the Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina Erica and
her GK motorsports team with the “Hardest Working Crew” award for getting her to her sixth
career final round. As described above you can certainly see why they won this award. Erica is currently working on her 4th win of the season, has locked a position in the
“Countdown” and is currently setting 4th in points just 10 behind 3rd place Greg Anderson and
20 behind Jason Line! They all are chasing #1 in points Allen Johnson. Needless to say I’ll be
pulling for EE as she races to the seasons end!! WMM
