of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Driving for
approx 1 hrs and 1⁄2 along the
famous Amalfi Drive road, passing
all the little picturesque towns,
arrival in Pompeii. Guided visit
to the archaeological site: With
its excavated area, extending for
approximately 44 ha, and the
preservation state of its buildings,
due to the particular burial (under
a blanket of 6 meter of ash and
rock) caused by the eruption of the
Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii can be
considered the only archaeological
site which gives the real image

Departure by bus to Mount
Vesuvius up to 1000 meters, then,
escorted by a specialized guide,
walk on the summit. Mt. Vesuvius is
the best known volcano on earth; it
dominates the Bay of Naples with
its characteristic one. Proceeding
along the rim of the crater, you can
observe the whole extent of the
southern part of the volcano and,
during days with good visibility, it
is possible to see the en re gulf of
Naples, from the Sorrento peninsula
to Cape Miseno, Procida and Ischia.

Maiori to Positano, passing Atrani,
Amalfi and Praiano. Stop to the
famous Emerald Grotto (optional):
discovered in 1932, the once dry
grotto, later invaded by the sea
due to bradysismical movements,
owes its name to the unusual colour
of the water reaching the light that
penetrates on the rocks. The interior
of the cavern presents the visitors
with an extraordinary, unequalled
scene: the atmosphere, dominated
by brilliant green and blue, is made
even more fascinating by thin and
above all by the spectacular forma
-tions of stalagmites that emerge
from the sea and, like huge columns
over 10 m high, they join to the

Leave the hotel by coach to
Paestum, the capital of the buffalo
mozzarella cheese. Visit to the
wonderful bufalara, so learn how
they grow milky buffalos. You will be
invited to see the complete process
to make the mozzarella. Do not
miss the chance to taste under the
groves the REAL mozzarella, just
done by expert hands. After the visit
continue on to the archaeological
site: Paestum has been for a
thousand years a roman c ruin in
the midst of a solemn wilderness.
Its Doric temples, hardly surpassed
even by those of Athens in noble
simplicity and good preservation,
produce an incomparable effect
of majesty and grandeur. The
ancient site is set in a grassy eld
surrounded by gardens and hills.
Although the site is small, it’s so
charming that you may want to
spend me just relaxing here. and to
the exceptional museum, that holds
finds excavated from the site and
around, including a set of archaic
period Greek metopes. Here you
will find the tomb paintings, one
of which, the so-called “Tomb
of the Diver”, is a graceful and
expressively naturalistic piece of
work, the only existing example of
Greek wall painting in Italy. Return
to the hotel in the afternoon.
