October Birthdays:
Marie Galusha 10th, Sandra Chaney
27th, Jerry Wright 29th.
Golden Triangle Sams had their monthly September
campout at Southern Palms, Eustis, FL. We had a small
group with just seven rigs but had a very pleasant time.
Thursday arrivals had a warm sunny weather arrival
and no rain. The weather people promised rain on
Saturday and Sunday and mother nature delivered as
promised. Thursday was a relaxing day as members
arrived and setup their rigs.
Friday morning some of the members got together to
make “tumbleweeds” from yarn donated by a friend of
Marie Galusha’s. These will be used at Boggie Creek.
Friday evening we went to Stavro’s, the Italian
restaurant cattycorner to the campground, to have a bonvoyage dinner with Tom Leonard. Nancy was back in
Idaho caring for their pets and settling into their new
home. The food was yummy, the company enjoyable
and we had a pleasant time sharing summer adventures.

_____________________________________
Saturday’s breakfast was cereals and fruits. At
10:00 AM, President Jim Gonya conducted the
business meeting. We were reminded that the
October campout will take place at New Smyrna
Beach RV Park & CG, New Smyrna Beach, FL;
October 2-4. See campout information on page 3.
We plan on doing a beach cleanup. Diane Gonya
reminded us that campgrounds are difficult to secure
during the winter months so we have lost Paradise
Oaks for our 2015 Christmas Party even though they
attempted to book it a year in advance. So we will
use Southern Palms and some creative dinner plans;
more to come as the plans develop.
Saturday’s dinner was hamburgers and hotdogs
and potluck. We had “bubba burgers” cooked just
right by Jim Galusha. Pretty good! Afterwards we
played a card bingo game and some of us won more
then others.
Carl & Pam Hendrex stopped by to visit.
Tom and Nancy Leonard have moved to Island Park,
Idaho. Island Park is located along US Hwy 20. It is
not really a town but a community. Their place is
about 12 miles southwest of West Yellowstone, MT.
Previously, for many years, they had a second home
there. Their Florida home has been sold. The photo
below was taken this past weekend at the campout.
Tom loaded the last of their belongings and headed to
Island Park very early Saturday morning. We will
miss the Leonard’s but they have promised to return to
visit. We wish them well in their very special new
home.
Sunday morning was sweet things to share with more
visiting and good-byes until next month. Thanks to the
hosts: Jim & Diane Gonya, Jim & Marie Galusha and
Dick and Dotty Weis.

Golden Triangle Sam's Minutes
September 12, 2015
President Jim Gonya called the meeting of Golden Triangle Sam's to order at Southern Palms RV Park at
10:10 AM. Dianne Gonya gave the invocation. Past presidents Steve Griffin, and Mickey Marks led the
group in the Pledge to the Flag.
Secretary Rose Mary Culp called the roll; 10 members in attendance, with 7 member rigs camping. There
were no guests present. Dotty Weis moved that we accept the minutes from the April and May meetings
that were sent out and Carol Griffin seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Treasurer Jim Galusha presented the Treasurer's Report, reporting a beginning balance of $4501.91,
income of $250.00 received from Good Sam for being Chapter of the Year, leaving a current balance of
$4,751.91. Janet Marks made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report and Dianne Gonya seconded the
motion. The motion passed. Bills were presented for payment included $12.65 for shipping our coupons
and $20.31 for cards. Dotty Weis proposed we pay the expenses which was seconded by Dick Weis. The
motion passed.
Committee Reports:
1. Sunshine: Carol Griffin - Carolyn DeFina is blind in her right eye and has difficulty seeing out of her
left eye. She has a fungus in her eyes and Tom is transporting her to South Florida for treatment.
They both could use our prayers. Judy Beardsley needs our support as she adjusts to being alone.
Richard Jamison is still dealing with treatment related to melanoma. Ken Culp is expecting to have
knee surgery sometime after the first of the year. Pam Hendrix, a former member, had surgery on
her other shoulder and seems to be doing well. Martha Wright is still in a boot due to a tear in her
first procedure. Roger Hime has been ill. The Kneisley's haven;t been heard from, but we know
Gale still needs our prayers. There are several families traveling. (The Raabe's, Ritenburgs, Himes
and Breitweisers) L.J. and Tricia Green will be traveling west later this month and on to Italy
October 10th. Pray for safe travels for all of these members.

is forthcoming.
6. Loaves and Fishes: (need new chairperson)
7. Volunteer Hours: Sharon Hime and Janet Marks – Please keep track of your hours, donations, etc.
and for the time being, turn them in to Janet. Marie Galusha mentioned there were several bags of

are $3.00 each.

1. The Fall Rally, at Southern Palms, has a theme titled “Memories of Christmas Past.” (A Christmas
Village) This will not be a money maker, just for fun...ideas?
2. For National Chapter of the Year, Chapters have to participate in Dogs for the Deaf out of Oregon.
Bob and Bev Sims visited this charity while they were in Oregon this summer. They were very
impressed with the group. Road Clean Up is another requirement. We fulfill all other requirements.
It was suggested that we could do a ”Beach Clean Up” at our next camp out in New Smyrna Beach.
