Please visit Northern California Weimaraner Rescue’s booth at one of the following events. We would love to meet you, introduce you to some of our available dogs, answer your questions about the Weimaraner breed (Weimar-what?!), and answer any questions you might have about fostering and/or adopting a Weimaraner from Northern California Weimaraner Rescue. We’re passionate about our mission, and love to talk about it! If you have questions about any of these events, or would like to volunteer at NCWR’s booth, please contact Dianne Venzon at [email protected] AUGUST Sat, 8/26, 9 AM–3 PM: Stockton Animal Shelter Friends’ Strut Your Mutt, Victory Park, Stockton th This is the 5 annual Strut Your Mutt Pet Fair, benefiting local shelter animals. The Victory Park pool will be opened up for Dog Day Afternoon doggie swimming, where you and your dog can swim together! There will be contests, swimming races, raffle prizes, exhibitions, Canine Good Citizenship testing, microchipping, hot dogs (of course!) and vendor booths for a full day of Fido Fun! Stockton Animal Shelter Friends is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization with the mission of improving the welfare of companion animals in their community. www.stocktonpets.org SEPTEMBER Sat, 9/23, 9:30 AM-4 PM: SCARF’s (Solano County Animal Rescue Foundation) New Leash on Life Dog Walk & Adoption Faire, Andrews Park, Vacaville In addition to a fun walk in the park, there will be all kinds of demonstrations, from dancing dogs to police dogs, obedience training and frisbee catching, rally and agility, and even sled dogs! Throw in a silent auction, raffle, and contests, and this event has something for every canine and its human! www.scanimalfoundation.org OCTOBER Sat, 10/14, 9 AM-1 PM: SF SPCA’s Doggone Fun Run, Speedway Meadow, Golden Gate Park th This 11 annual fundraising event includes a 5k run/walk and party, benefiting PAWS (Pets are Wonderful Support) and the San Francisco SPCA. To participate, canine companions are not mandatory, just love and respect for them! In addition to the main 5k event, there will be demonstrations, entertainment and contests, including the always-popular “stupid pet tricks”. All this fun in the beautiful backdrop of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park! www.doggonefunrun.org
