Re:Vita Nova 4x4 Fun Day – Kungwini
This is to invite you all to this, one special day in the year, Sunday 24 November 2013, the annual Vita Nova
4x4 Fun Day for the mentally and physically disabled residents (Called kids) of the Vita Nova Centre in
Springs.
This year the fun day will not be held at McCarthy 4x4 Club but will be held at Kungwini 4x4 Eco Trail
close to Bronkhorstspruit off the R25.
Directions to Kungwini 4x4 Eco Trail:
From Pretoria:
From Pretoria take the N4 towards Bronkhorstspruit / Nelspruit and exit at the Bronkhorstspruit West –
Ekandustria off ramp. At the end of the off ramp turn right towards Kempton Park and drive for 6km. At the
stop. (T junction) turn left towards Bronkhorstspruit (R25 and drive for 900m. Turn right at the road market
as Bronkhorstbaai / Kungwini and drive for 1km. Turn right at 4x4 Kungwini sign (1st gravel road.) and
drive for 1km.Follow 4x4 signs for 1.6km.
From Johannesburg and Johannesburg International Airport:
From Johannesburg take the R21 Kempton Park / Pretoria and exit at the Bapsfontein, Bronkhorstspruit
(R25) off ramp. At the end of the off ramp turn left towards Bapsfontein and drive for 12km. At the Stop (T
junction) turn right towards Delmas (R25) and drive for 1,6km. At the 4-way stop turn left towards
Bronkhorstspruit (R25) and drive for 34.4km. Turn right at the road market as Bronkhorstbaai / Kungwini
and drive for 1km. Turn right at 4x4 Kungwini sign (1st gravel road.) and drive for 1km. Follow 4x4 signs
for 1.6km.
From Lowveld (Kruger Park):
From Middelburg take the N4 towards Pretoria and exit at the Bronkhorstspruit (R25) off ramp.
At the end of the off ramp turn left towards Bapsfontein / Kempton Park and drive for 5km. Turn left at the
road market as Bronkhorstbaai / Kungwini and drive for 1km. Turn right at 4x4 Kungwini sign(1st gravel
road.) and drive for 1km. Follow 4x4 signs for 1.6km.
4x4 Vehicles Required
We need at least thirty five 4x4 enthusiasts to come with their 4x4’s to assist us on this day to ensure that the
kids have a seat in a 4x4. The kids will be treated on the 4x4 track and on a short trail. As many of you know
this is one day in their lives which they really look forward to. As Vita Nova Centre is struggling financially
to make ends meet, we also invite sponsorship, to assist in any possible way to relieve their burden for care
for the many residents of the home.

Any of the above items will be welcomed and will assist to ease the burden of the monthly running expenses
of the center. All the items which are sponsored can be brought on the day and we will fill up LDV’s and
trailers and send it back with the people to the home. Let us all do our little part. Remember it is all the
drops that fill up the buckets. It is not necessary for anyone to rob a bank to be able to assist. Let us all do
our little share for this very worthy cause.
We also require Ice-cream / Boerewors and Boerewors rolls for on the day. Also 2lt cold drinks.
Music and Entertainment:
Pastor Michael van Dyk will again be the master of ceremony and will provide us with music and
entertainment for the kids.
Program.
The Program for the day will be as follows:
08h00 Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Boksburg arrive and setup their equipment.
All 4x4 enthusiasts arrive and line up 4x4’s.
All sponsored items to be packed in a marked area.
08h30 Drivers briefing
+-09h00 Busses arrive with the residents of the Vita Nova home.
Meet and greet and assist with the kids to the toilets. Each driver of a 4x4 will take one or two kids or in
some cases a helper and load them into their 4x4’s. Shortly thereafter we will depart for the fun drive in a
convoy.
+- 11h00 We will return to the starting area where the kids will be treated with Boerewors rolls and cold
drinks by the Rotarians. All drivers and passengers will also receive a Boerewors roll and cold drinks. Those
who wish can braai afterwards. You must just provide your own charcoal or wood for the braai.
+- 12h00 Pastor Michael to keep the kids busy with games and dancing till father Christmas arrives on the
back of the red 4x4 Hilux bakkie.
Father Christmas will then hand out presents to each resident of the home. We would also like to hand out
“goodie bags” to each resident and their helpers. (We need donations for the goodie bags. – Bags, Sweets,
Chips, juices, caps etc.)
+- 14h00 the busses will be loaded and the care takers and the staff off the Vita Nova Centre will start
preparing to depart return back to the home.
The day will be over at round 14h30.
