IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, do not attempt to use this app until you have read thoroughly and understand completely this operator’s manual and the operator’s manual for the GD200 garage door opener. Only use the Ryobi Garage Door Opener Module System App to control garage door openers installed on sectional doors. Do not use this app to open or close singlepanel garage doors. Always follow all safety rules recommended by the manufacturer of your garage door opener, in addition to all safety rules for the garage door opener attachment and accessories. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury. App images may vary. Devices or features, such as the Ryobi Garage Door Opener Module System App, that allow you to open and close the garage without the garage door being in view should only be used with sectional garage doors. A monthly test of the device’s functionality is recommended to ensure reliable performance over time. Do not use the garage door opener if it is damaged or broken. Do not allow children or untrained individuals to operate the garage door opener. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when near children. To avoid death or serious personal injury, stay clear of the garage door while it is moving. CREATING AN ACCOUNT See Figures 1 - 3. Download the Ryobi Garage Door Opener Module System App from the App Store or Google Play Store. Sign up for an account by entering your email address, creating a password, and setting your security preferences. GETTING STARTED WARNING: WARNING: To reduce the risk of severe injury or death, make sure your garage door opener is properly installed before syncing it to the Ryobi Garage Door Opener Module System App. ADDING A GARAGE DOOR OPENER TO YOUR ACCOUNT Press and hold the Wi-Fi button (for five seconds) until the Wi-Fi button begins to blink signaling that the garage door opener is attempting to sync with your phone. Next FIG. 7 GETTING STARTED Sync your garage door opener to your home wi-fi network by selecting your home network from the list of available networks and entering your password (if applicable). Name your garage door opener and navigate to the Home screen or App Navigation Tutorial screen to complete initial setup. NOTE: If your network isn’t listed, click “Don’t see your network listed” for possible explanations. After the garage door opener has been synced to your smart phone and home Wi-Fi networks, test the Ryobi Garage Door Opener Module System App functionality as described in the next section. Sync GDO to Home Wi-Fi Congrats - you’re done! Now, you’re going to connect your GDO to your home wi-fi network. From this menu, you can add a profile image, change your account settings, and view your activity log. Press this icon to access the SETTINGS menu. From this menu you can adjust the settings of the module system app. Press this icon to CLOSE the garage door. Press this icon to OPEN the garage door. Press this icon to EXPLORE the full suite of Garage Door Opener Module System products. Press this icon to raise or lower the garage door to a partially open PRESET position. Press this icon to turn the garage door opener LIGHTS on and off. This section of your hub screen shows the position of your garage door and the last time it was open or shut. App images may vary. OPERATION Before operating the garage door opener, align the safety sensors and set the door travel limits according to the GD200 Operator’s Manual. WARNING: DO NOT operate the garage door opener unless the safety sensors are installed and working correctly. Failure to properly install and ensure that the safety sensors are working correctly can result in death or serious personal injury. Incorrect placement or installation could prevent the sensors from working as intended and result in death or serious personal injury. NOTICE: The garage door will not close unless the safety sensors are installed, wired, and aligned correctly. DANGER: Ensure that the safety sensors are installed and working properly. Without the proper safety devices in place, a closing garage door could kill or seriously injure someone in its path. FIG. 12 NOTICE: Do not open or close the garage door using the indoor keypad, remotes, or phone app until the travel limits have been properly set. OPERATION USING THE PRESET FEATURE TURNING THE LED LIGHTS ON AND OFF See Figures 14 and 15. See Figures 16 and 17. The garage door opener module system app can be programmed to raise or lower the garage door to a partially open preset position. Touch the light icon ( ) to turn the LED lights, located beneath the light cover, on and off. To move your garage door to a partially open position, press the preset icon ( ). NOTE: By default, the door will be raised or lowered to 18 in. above the garage floor. The preset height can be adjusted in the settings ( ) menu as described later in this section. NOTE: By default, the LED lights will illuminate for four minutes after the light icon ( ) is pressed or the motion sensor is activated. OPERATION CHECKING BATTERY PACK CHARGE STATUS INSTALLING MODULES See Figures 18 and 19. See Figures 20 - 23. When a battery pack is installed and the power cord is plugged in, the garage door operator will begin charging the battery pack. The charge status of the battery pack can be seen at the bottom of the home screen. The garage door opener can power a variety of AC and DC modules. For a complete list of modules, press the explore icon ( ) or visit ryobitools.com. WARNING: Use only recommended accessories listed on our website, in this manual, or in addendums. Use of accessories that are not listed may cause the risk of personal injury. OPERATION WARNING: Ensure modules are properly and securely connected to their port on the garage door opener. Failure to properly secure the module can cause it to fall and could result in serious personal injury or property damage. Install and secure DC or AC module as described in the module’s operator’s manual. The garage door opener will automatically detect most modules and the module controls will appear at the bottom of the hub screen. Use the module controls to monitor, activate, and change module operation. NOTE: If the RYOBI Garage Door Opener Module System App does not detect your module, the module controls can be added manually by selecting “Module Map” from the profile ( ) menu as described later in this section. From the settings ( ) menu, you can turn notifications on and off, change the amount of time your LED lights remain on, turn off the motion sensor, enter and exit vacation mode, and adjust the preset height for your garage door. Notification Setting This setting can be programmed to notify you when the door is opened or closed, when the door has been open longer than a specified length of time, and if the door is opened after a certain time of day. LED Light Setting Garage Door Opener Notifications Timezone Central Standard Time Door Opens Door Closes Adjust this setting to change how long the LED lights remain on. Vacation Mode Setting Change this setting to enter and exit vacation mode. OPERATION PROFILE MENU Account Settings: See Figure 26 - 33. From the account settings screen, you can change your name, email address, password, security preferences, email preferences, and who receives app notifications. From the profile ( ) menu, you can change your profile name and image, manage account settings, add garage door openers, view activity logs, view the module map, read frequently asked questions, and contact customer support. Add Opener: Select this option to add multiple garage door openers to your account using the setup process described in the Getting Started section. Activity Log: The activity log shows each date and time the garage door opens and closes. To delete the activity log, tap “Clear Log”. FIG. 29 OPERATION Module Map: Installation Guide: The module map allows you to see which modules are installed and in which ports they’re installed. Most modules will be detected automatically, but others will have to be added manually by selecting “Add Module” and choosing Bluetooth® Speaker the appropriate port or ports.
