Many residents of the major cities of China are bilingual and – with a little patience – navigating through the cities and attractions is straightforward. Tours will visit a local family who will serve a traditional lunch to their guests. Day 7 (Suzhou) Canal Cruise – a one hour boat ride through the Grand Canal, a 1,300 year old, 1,100 mile canal that is the longest man-made canal in the world. The canal goes through an ancient part of the city and visitors will have a chance to see traditional Chinese life in this “Venice of the East”. Day 10 or 11 (Shanghai) ERA Show – a “Cirque du Soleil” type of show featuring talented Chinese acrobats. A “must-do”! Day 10 or 11 (Shanghai) Maglev train ride – the fastest train in the world reaching speeds of 431 km/hour takes you 30 km in 7 minutes. It’s really cool! If all the optional tours are taken, the cost will be approximately $130/pp. How to sign up? If you’re interested, let us know! We require full payment by December 1, 2015 to secure your spot.
