YOUTH EXCHANGE! -- Our club is very excited to host an outbound student, Molly Mahon, for the 2016/17
academic year. She will be traveling to France to study and learn about their culture. In exchange our club will
receive a student, Inez Lopez, from Spain. She will be a junior at Spartanburg High School.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Rotary Youth Exchange – Host Club Responsibilities
2016-2017
Our club will have some financial responsibilities that have been approved by the board and we are responsible for
securing three host families to house and help her become immersed in our community. She is a very conscientious student
desiring to pursue high-level course work and has an interest in dance and/or acting.
1.
2.
3.
4.
We have a host family for her first three months beginning August 10, 2016 and need two more.
Two more host families for December-February and March-May. They do not have to be Rotarians. It is preferred
that they have similar aged females that attend Spartanburg High School, but this is not required.
Also, we need to have 2-4 other Rotarians who would be interested in helping:
· For a few days to give the host family time for personal travel or obligations,
· With transportation to Exchange activities in the Greenville area
· Introduce Inez to fun experiences and activities in and around the Upstate
Please consider serving as a Rotary Youth Exchange Committee member (to help with reaching into the schools to
share information about RYE, coordinate exchange details)
Please contact Muffet Chapman as soon as possible to take part in this great opportunity to share with a young
ambassador! This is what makes Rotary, and Spartanburg, and our country great!
