VISIT ME...
I am a small peninsula surrounded
by the sea, an ancient, Atlantic and
cosmopolitan city, where the ocean has
played the leading role in over 2,000
years of history.
FEEL ME...
I am a city laden with age-old
traditions, which live together with the
latest trends in fashion, architecture, art,
music...
GET TO KNOW ME...
From the peaceful marine landscape,
via my city beaches to my cosmopolitan
and life-filled streets.
From the ancient Tower of Hercules,
named a world heritage site by the
UNESCO in 2009, to avant-garde
architecture from recent decades.
From walks through my heart, the
Old Town, around the promenade, to
nighttime in bars and restaurants.
Spectacular cuisine where fish, seafood,
good wine and local meat are the stars.
A city where leisure, cuisine, shopping
and culture blend together to create
exciting and modern routes.
02
COME AND SEE ME...
I am in the northwest of the Iberian
Peninsula and form part of the region
of Galicia. I am very well connected by
motorways and dual carriageways (A6
and AP9), by train (FEVE and RENFE)
and by plane; Alvedro airport is in the
city and Santiago de Compostela is
just 45 minutes away.
03
05
STAY WITH ME...
I am your ideal destination.
You can come at any time of year, we are waiting for you with open arms, our
hospitality and generosity, and the pleasant nature of our land.
I am ideal for weekends away, adventures with your friends and visits with the
whole family.
04
I am also the perfect city for holding events and congresses, because all my
hotel rooms and congress centres make up the best possible conditions for this
kind of activity.
TRY ME...
You can try the most exquisite local
cuisine in hundreds of my restaurants
and taverns, lunch or dinner at a smart
table or discovering my suggestive
tapas routes.
I have more Michelin stars than any
other city in Galicia. I can offer you
succulent meat, fish and sea food – the
best quality and as fresh as can be; sole,
monkfish, barnacles, velvet swimming
crabs and Dublin Bay prawns.
From the traditional octopus with olive
oil, stewandpancakestomoreinnovative
and modern menus. Accompanied by
one of the designation of origin wines
from Galicia – Monterrey, Valdeorras,
Rías Baixas, Ribeiro – it will be an
amazing experience for even the most
demanding palate.
06
HAVE TAPAS WITH ME...
I am a city where going out for tapas
is a tradition – there are hundreds
of bars, each with its own speciality
and a pinch of local cuisine.
On my tapas routes I can offer
you little pieces of local taste that
anyone can afford, and every
year they are on show during the
Picadillo Tapas Competition.
07
09
08
WALKWITH ME...
My promenade is the longest in Europe, I have over 2 km of beaches and
spectacular ocean views for walkers, cyclists and athletes every day.
But I am also a city of air and land.
My green areas, my tidy gardens and urban vegetation make up large open
spaces for your leisure, contact with nature and sports like golf. You only have
to go up to the Monte de San Pedro in my panoramic lift to contemplate Orzán
Bay in all its splendour.
GET ORGANISED WITH ME...
PALEXCO and EXPOCoruña are perfect places to hold congresses, conventions
and all kinds of events.
PALEXCO,the first congress centre in Galicia to obtain the Q award for Tourist
Quality, is a specially designed centre in a privileged location right in the heart
of the city, opposite the Transatlantic dock. It boasts 13 rooms and halls for over
3,000 people.
EXPOCoruña is now a consolidated benchmark for trade fairs and events in
the north west of the peninsula. Covering a floor area of over 25,000 m2, this
multipurpose space is the the best showcase for all kinds of varied and avantgarde meetings, from fairs to shows and music festivals.
10
11
HAVE FUN...
I am, without doubt, a city of fun.
All year round my streets are full of events and shows: from the María Pita events
in August to Carnivals, the Midsummer Night’s bonfires - an event of National
Tourist Interest - the Comic Festival, musical events like the 981 Festival, the
Mozart Festival, the Opera Festival, the Atlantic Jazz Festival or the “Noroeste
Pop Rock” Festival.
12
I am a city of art and culture. Home to the Symphonic Orchestra of Galicia
and the network of scientific museums known the world over: the Domus, the
Science Museum, the Aquarium Finisterrae and the new National Museum of
Science and Technology (MUNCYT).
I boast art galleries, the Opera House, the Rosalía and Colón theatres, live
music at night, the Casino, exhibitions and recitals of classical music. My cultural
offer is eclectic and heterogenous.
I am beautiful by day, but my best is reserved for the night. My leisure offer
for nights is endless: from peaceful cafes, via live music halls to lively pubs and
discos with the latest music. You won’t want the sun to come up.

COME SAILING WITH ME...
I am a sea city, the land of fishermen who unload their catch to provide the best
raw materials for our dishes. Water sport lovers also love me, as they enjoy
my waters or sail into my harbour – I have 950 berthing points and the best
possible facilities and services.
A port with a Transatlantic dock in the heart of the city, the nerve centre where
restaurants, shops, the best hotels and even theatres wait with open arms for
those who come by sea to this land with an aroma of salt.
